The theory behind the TWM Performance Short Throw Shift Adapter is to adjust the point at which the shifter cable attaches to the shift actuator on the transmission. This adapter is fixed onto the stock shift actuator and the shift cable is attached to the adapter rather than the actuator. The new point of attachment is placed closer to the pivot or fulcrum of the actuator thus reducing the distance the shifter (inside the car) must move in order to engage a gear.
Step 1: Remove the four bolts which secure the airbox to the chassis.
Step 2: Unclip the MAF from the intake tube and remove the rubber tube connected to the air box. Then remove the airbox from the vehicle.
Step 3: Remove the cotter pin that secures the shift cable to the shift actuator.
Step 4: Remove the shift cable from the old shift cable mounting point.
Step 5: Using the following diagram, place the TWM Performance Short Throw Shift Adapter onto the shift actuator.
