Open Source Software and XMLOpen source software (OSS) is both a philosophy and a process. As a philosophy it describes the intended use of software and methods for its distribution. Depending on your perspective, the concept of OSS is a relatively new idea being only five or ten years old. On the other hand, the GNU Software Project -- a project advocating the distribution of “free” software -- has been operational since the mid ‘80’s. Consequently, the ideas behind OSS have been around longer than you may think. When people think about OSS they often think about “free”, but the term “free” should be equated with freedom, and as such people who use “free” software should be:
1. free to run the software for any purpose
2. free to modify the software to suit their needs
3. free to redistribute of the software gratis or for a fee
4. free to distribute modified versions of the software
Put another way the term “free” should be equated with the Latin word “liberat” meaning to liberate, and not necessarily “gratis” meaning without return made or expected. In the words of Richard Stallman, we should “think of ‘free’ as in ‘free speech,’ not as in ‘free beer.’”

Skype is the world decentralized telephony network, but it provides far more services than just voice calling that carried over the public Internet. By using a compact client program, which is available in versions for several popular computer platforms,a Skype user is able to send or receive text messages, hold voice calls and exchange data files with other persons.
Communications with other online Skype users are provided free of charge, while certain premium services, such as the placing of voice calls to standard telephone numbers, are available for a modest fee. Skype communications rely largely on peer-to-peer communications techniques in order to improve the quality of voice calls and to reduce the latency of data transfers between users. The term peer-to-peer, frequently written as P2P, is a class of software applications that rely on resources located at the network edge, such as the large number of individual personal computers that are always connected to the Internet, rather than relying on large and costly centralized computer servers. It is this aspect of Skype networking that makes it incredibly robust and tolerant of network failures:Skype has no single critical node upon which the service relies for its operation. Description of Skype services The utility of Skype services are found in the voice calling..

For 2004, the Sentra receives redesigned front and rear fascias and a newly styled hood. Interior upgrades on the 2.5S, SE-R, and SE-R Spec V include an enhanced Rockford Fosgate sound system and a trip computer as standard equipment, while the SE-R Spec V gets Skyline-style sport bucket seats. Power choices remain a fuel-thrifty 126-hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine in the 1.8 and 1.8S models and, for a good deal more oomph, a 165-hp, 2.5-liter four-banger in the 2.5S and SE-R. But for a wilder ride we recommend the more powerful and responsive 175-hp, 2.5-liter version in the wicked little SE-R Spec V, which also gets a new brake package with quicker-stopping Brembo front discs.
The 350Z gets some minor upgrades and a boost to 300 horsepower for six-speed-manual models. Nissan is taking a breather after launching new versions in 2005 of the Pathfinder, Frontier, and Xterra. The Titan and the Armada have new power-folding mirrors, the Xterra adds an entry-level X model, the Murano sports new wheels and a restyled grille, and the Quest adds a 3.5 Special Edition trim package.
Unchanged: Maxima, Altima, Sentra, Frontier, Pathfinder, Xterra.
Future: Nissan may launch one or two subcompacts based on the Cube, which is sold in Japan. All-new Altima and Sentra are due within a year.

Social-networking Web sites, such as Facebook and MySpace, now attract more than 100 million visitors a month. As the popularity of Web 2.0 has grown, companies have noted the intense consumer engagement and creativity surrounding these technologies. Many organizations, keen to harness Web 2.0 internally, are experimenting with the tools or deploying them on a trial basis.
Over the past two years, McKinsey has studied more than 50 early adopters to garner insights into successful efforts to use Web 2.0 as a way of unlocking participation. We have surveyed, independently, a range of executives on Web 2.0 adoption. Our work suggests the challenges that lie ahead. To date, as many survey respondents are dissatisfied with their use of Web 2.0 technologies as are satisfied. Many of the dissenters cite impediments such as organizational structure, the inability of managers to understand the new levers of change, and a lack of understanding about how value is created using Web 2.0 tools. We have found that, unless a number of success factors are present, Web 2.0 efforts often fail to launch or to reach expected heights of usage. Executives who are suspicious or uncomfortable with perceived changes or risks often call off these efforts. Others fail because managers simply don’t know how to encourage the type of participation that will produce meaningful results. Some historical perspective is useful. Web 2.0, the latest wave in corporate technology adoptions, couldExperiences Teaching Data Structures With JavaAmong Computer Science educators, hardly any topic inspires more heated debate than the choice of programming language in the introductory sequence. In the late 80s, the uniformly accepted choice was Pascal, but since then, a host of alternatives have come into use. C++ seems to have emerged as the winner, while Pascal, C, Ada, Scheme, and Modula-3 split most of the remaining market.
There appear to be two overriding reasons for C++’s emergence. First, principles such as encapsulation and information hiding, that are important to teach in the CS I/II curriculum, are easily demonstrated in C++. Much of the ugliness associated with C is easily avoided in C++ by the use of a tiny set of classes: About all that is needed is a String and Vector class. Second, C++ has become an industry standard (even though C++ is itself not yet standardized). Many universities are finding that they must teach C++ at some point, and given limitations on the number of courses that can be offered, they are finding it most convenient to teach it early. C++, however, has its share of problems; some of these problems will be discussed later. Java is the new alternative to C++. It can be presented as a simpler C++ that fixes many of C++’s bad features and provides a primitive, but useful, GUI toolkit. One argument for teaching Java early is that it is better to use an alreadydefined language rather than attempt to subset a complex language. While C++ is arguably theNokia Bluetooth Headset BH-800 User Guidesearch for Bluetooth devices. See the user guide of your phone for. instructions. 3.
