Maya 104: DynamicsDuring this tutorial we’ll explore a number of features of Maya’s dynamics toolset.
In part I - the ‘membrane pore tutorial’ - we’ll create a scene with a turbulent membrane that also has a ‘pore’ dynamically floating in it. Next we’ll create a swarm of molecules that collide with the membrane (and can otherwise only traverse it via the pore opening). We’ll gain finer control over the behavior of individual molecules in the swarm through the use of expressions. Finally, we’ll add goals to the entire swarm and control the degree to which these goals affect the swarm’s movement.
In part II – the ‘blastocyst tutorial’ - we’ll look at how a piece of geometry can serve as a goal for particles. Specifically, we’ll create a blastocyst-stage embryo made up of blobby particles attracted to a sphere. We’ll control the behavior of these particles relative to the surface of the sphere. For the finale, we’ll squeeze the blastocyst out of the zona pellucida surrounding it by using a lattice deformer applied to the sphere.

You should, for example, know how to choose, select, launch, and drag by using your mouse. In addition, you should also understand how the desktop, windows, dialog boxes, buttons and file/folders work within the Macintosh environment. For more information about these items, please refer to your Macintosh User?s Guide.
SpeedTools ZoneBench is a benchmarking application designed to measure the read and write speeds over an entire local storage device. That device can be either logical (such as a disk volume which is actually a RAID array made up of two or more disk drives) or physical (such as your internal ATA disk drive). ZoneBench also has the capability to measure the speed of read-only volumes such as a mounted CD or DVD data disc. ZoneBench does not measure the speed of burning recordable CD/DVD discs, however.
Measuring speeds across an entire device is important because most storage devices do not maintain consistent speeds across their entire storage area. For example, all modern hard disk drives get slower as data is accessed further and further toward the physical end of the drive. Conversely, CD and DVD ROM discs get faster as you access toward the physical end of disc. (This is because CD's and DVD's are read starting at the center of the disc moving progressively outwards.
Warning: ZoneBench is designed to be non-destructive. However, because ZoneBench reads and writes directly to your storage device, there isF-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus for Smartphone Users Guide ManualThis Guide Is Organized Conventions Used in F-Secure Guides Chapter 1 Introduction 13 1.1 F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus 1.2 Key Features Chapter 2 Installation 15 2.1 System Requirements 2.2 Installing F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus 2.2.1 Direct Installation 2.2.2 Installation Using Your Computer 2.3 Uninstalling F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus Chapter 3 User Interface 19 3.1 Main View 3.1.1 Main View Buttons 3.1.2 Main Menu Chapter 4 Startup and Shutdown 23 4.1 Starting F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus 4.1.1 First-Time Start-Up (Activation) 4.1.2 Normal Start-Up 4.2 Shutting Down F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus 4.3 Hiding the User Interface Chapter 5 Configuration 31

Undetanding Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) M ATTHEW D E S ANTIS , US-CERT This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of using VoIP services, focusing primarily on security issues that may affect those who are new to VoIP. What is VoIP? Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a form of communication that allows you to make phone calls over a broadband internet connection itead of typical analog telephone lines. Basic VoIP access usually allows you to call othe who are also receiving calls over the internet. Interconnected VoIP services also allow you to make and receive calls to and from traditional landline numbe, usually for a service fee. Some VoIP services require a computer or a dedicated VoIP phone, while othe allow you to use your landline phone to place VoIP calls through a special adapter. VoIP is becoming an attractive communicatio option for coume. Given the trend towards lower fees for basic broadband
DownloadFoundations of Java - Chapter 1 Introduction to JavaOkay, enough of the convoluted history of Java the island and Java the platform. And yes, that is Java, the platform. What began in 1995 as just another programming language is now formally known as a platform. Beginning as a platform-neutral, Internet-friendly development language, Java has evolved into a means of creating programs for just about anything. Let’s step back to the beginning and see how it came about.
Back in January 1991, a project by the name of Green began. The Green project’s purpose was to come up with a way of controlling set-top boxes, those smart cable TV access boxes. Because the hardware in the consumer devices was always changing, it became apparent to James Gosling, the “father” of Java, that C++ wasn’t appropriate for the job. As a result, the language called Oak was created; it was less susceptible to bugs and wouldn’t crash the whole system. It initially ran on a Hammer technology device called *7 (Star7). Cavorting across the touch screen was this little digital character named Duke, a helper agent, who would go off and do various tasks. (He later turned into the Java mascot.)

For details, consult your Alpine dealer. Point the optional remote control transmitter at the remote control sensor. Turning Power On and Off Initial System Start-Up Be sure to press the RESET switch when using the unit for the first time, after installing the CD changer, after changing the car battery, etc. Setting Time • To synchronize the clock to another clock/watch or radio time announcement, press and hold the Rotary encoder for at least 2 seconds after setting the “hour.” Minutes will reset to 00. If the display shows over “30” minutes when you do this, the time will advance one hour.
Adjusting Volume Turn the Rotary encoder until the desired sound is obtained. Lowering Volume Quickly Activating the Audio Mute function will instantly lower the volume level by 20 dB. Press MUTE to activate the MUTE mode. The audio level will decrease by about 20 dB. Pressing MUTE again will bring the audio back to its previous level.

Our next example shows the graph-types available as pyramid charts. None of these choices shown below represent good graphs! All but the last one display false third dimensions. In addition they all suggest stacked displays that are known to be poor ways to make comparisons.
(For the similar reasons, Excel’s column, cone, and cylinder charts don’t seem to have any redeeming features either!)
Scatterplots represent bread-and-butter graphs for visualizing relationships between variables. Scatterplots Should Have:
Good Choice of Axes
Meaningful Legends
No False Third Dimensions
However, Excel’s default scatterplots leave much to be desired. In the following example two data points have been covered up by the axis labels. Can you find them? And is the legend displayed to the right of the graph useful? Note that there is no label for the horizontal axis.
Histograms Should Have:
No Meaningless Gaps
A Reasonable Choice of Bins
An Easy Way To Choose Or Adjust The Bins
A Good Aspect Ratio
Meaningful Labels on Axes
Appropriate Labels on Bin Tick Marks
However, the next example shows a default histogram produced by Excel. The bin labels are impossible to read, the aspect ratio is poor, the legend and horizontal axis label are useless.

According to Wikipedia, it hints at an improved form of the World Wide Web where technologies such as weblogs, social bookmarking, RSS feeds, photo and video sharing, based on an architecture of participation and democracy that encourages users to add value to the application as they use it. Web 2.0 enables social networking on the Web by allowing users to contribute content, share it, rate it, create a network of friends, and decide what they like to see and how they want it to look like.
In this panel, we propose to explore what Web 2.0 has to do with databases. Among the questions we will ask are: Are we going to be building new kinds of databases with Web 2.0? What does it mean when 1 million people are building a database as a collaborative effort? What is a new notion of schemas and queries that we need to develop for such scenarios? The main point of controversy is that while some people think that Web 2.0 requires a new data management infrastructure, others view it as a great opportunity to integrate many ”small” distributed databases which store users and content. We finish the panel by asking the question: Are there databases we can build now that could not be built earlier because we have mass collaboration?

Exclusive Euro-Style features speed operation, allow safe and efficient handling of wheel and tire assemblies and provide extra measures to protect the operator. 1. Floating 3-point Articulated Mounting Arm s Faster and easier to use than any other design. s Unlike conventional rim-clamp mounting arms, there is no swing-arm obstruction when servicing extremely wide wheels and tires. s No need to adjust the arm away from the wheel; the head follows the rim without damage even if the wheel is clamped off center. s Exclusive polymer mount/demount head* removes the potential of steel-head contact damage.
Rides closer than steel head designs; reduces stress to tire and rim on low-profile tires. s Optional Mechanical Bead Pusher is great for handling stiff, low-profile tires.** Spring-Loaded Wheel Centering Support s “Lifts” tire to assist the operator upon release. Helps prevent back injuries. s Work surface remains at consistent height regardless of rim width. 3. Exclusive “Tulip” Wheel Clamping System 3 s Rubber-pad tulip clamping exerts uniform clamping strength – eliminates spinning and scoring damage to wheels. s Soft-grip clamping virtually eliminates alloy wheel damage inherent in steel-jaw/table-type or centerpost changers. s Eliminates potential “launch pad” effect that’s common to traditional table-top designs in the event of tire failure. s Easily adjusts for internal or external clamping of wheels up to 22? (optional kit extends clamping diameter to 26?). Polymer mount/demount head is a wearing component designed to protect
