  • Java and C# Generic Types and Methods
  • History of generics in programming languages The theory of generic types (parametric polymorphism) is by Hindley (1968) and Milner (1977). First programming language with parametric polymorphism is ML (1979); then Miranda, Haskell, Clean, ... First object-oriented language with generics is Eiffel (1991). Generics in Java • PolyJ (Myers, Bank, Liskov; 1997): Type parameters can be instantiated by reference types and primitive types; requires an extended JVM. • Generic Java (Bracha, Odersky, Stoutamire, Wadler 1998): Became Java 5.0 generics (plus wildcards, due to researchers at Aarhus University); runs on standard JVM. • NextGen (Cartwright, Steele; 1998): Type parameters can be instantiated by reference types, not primitive types; runs on standard JVM Generics in C# • Generic C# and new Generic Common Language Runtime (Kennedy and Syme, Microsoft Research Cambridge UK, 2001). • In November 2002, Microsoft announced generics for next version of C#; Redmond had been convinced ... • In August 2003, first alpha version of .Net Common Language Infrastructure with generics released. • DOSCH DESIGN TUTORIAL Using HDRIs in 3ds max A Step-by-Step Guide
  • This tutorial show you how to use HDRIs in 3ds max by using Vray or Brazil r/s. Things you will need for this tutorial. 3D Studio Max 4.xx or above Vray or Brazil r/s HDRI files from one of the Dosch Design HDRI collections the scene files delivered with this tutorial About HDRI There are two types of images. Low Dynamic Range Image(LDRI) and High Dynamic Range Image(HDRI). The first one comprises “normal” bitmaps [like JPEG, TIFF, BMP…], bitmaps which have 8 bits per pixel, with values between 0-255 [in RGB mode]. Which means that there are only 256 levels of luminosity, which doesn’t cover by far the range that can be captured by a real camera, with different levels of exposure. On the other end we find HDRI, whose values can get a lot higher then 256. The main feature is that the value of each pixel is proportional with the quantity of light on each pixel. Basically, instead of just storing colors on the screen like normal bitmaps do, the HDR format stores the quantity of light per pixel. Meaning we can have more then 256 levels of luminosity. • Using a MySQL Database
  • In this course, we will learn to use an SQL database system called MySQL. The programming interface we will learn also applies to other database engines, such as Oracle. We are using MySQL because it runs fast and is essentially free, so you can run it on your own machine at home if you desire. 1 Working by Hand There are two main ways to work with a database. First, we will show how to work with it by hand. Second, we will show how to work with it from another program. In the long run, you will do most of your database work using another program that you will write, such as a CGI program. When you are debugging, or when you are doing one-time kinds of things like creating tables, working by hand can be a good solution. 1.1 Connect to the MySQL Server Use this command (e.g., from cs.byuh.edu) to connect to MySQL. mysql -p -h HHH -u UUU Replace HHH with the host name. Replace UUU with your own username. When you are prompted for a password, type it in. Your instructor should tell you your hostname, username, and password. You will change your password later. The -p tells mysql to prompt you for a password. The -h tells mysql to what hostname to connect to. The -u tells mysql what username to use. 1.2 How To Quit Once you have successfully connected to the mysql server, you should see the following prompt: mysql> This means that the mysql server is waiting for you to enter a command. The
  • A Web-Based Antibody Database
  • Substances foreign to the body, such as disease-causing bacteria and viruses and other infectious agents, are known as antigens. They are generally of high molecular weight and are commonly proteins or polysaccharides. Our natural defenses against these infectious agents are antibodies, which are proteins that seek out the antigens and help destroy them. There is a significant number of anybodies (in the range of hundreds of thousands) that are developed and used by today’s research community. Research groups and labs generally depend on their own sources of antibodies necessary for their research, and keep the antibody information according to their needs. The antibody information is stored using different data formats, and the search for the correct antibody is sometimes impossible. We would like to propose a web based database solution to this problem, by creating a database framework that can be easily used by any research group or a lab. The type of information to be stored in the database will follow after a short overview of the role of antibodies and their general properties. Antibodies (or immunoglobulins) can be regarded as universal adapter molecules (Sirch and Lenmox, 1995). They have two very useful characteristics: 1. Each antibody binds to and attacks only one particular antigen. 2. Some antibodies, once activated by the occurence of a disease, continue to confer resistance against that disease. Classic examples are the antibodies to the childhood diseases: chickenpox and measles. Download pdf A Web-Based Antibody Database
  • Fiat Marea Removing The Seat Head Rest
  • OK, first the banging and force pulling method is OUT !!!! All of the Bravo/a seat head rests can be removed whit ease. You only need these pliers (don’t know the right name ;) ) The next step is to pull up the head rest and grip the pins whit these pliers. WARNING : Put some thick cloth under them plieers, or the plastic will get “eaten“ ! Then when you have a good grip, turn the pliers in CLOCKWISE direction for 90°. You will feel something give away and it will turn more easy, that is the lock giving away. After you have done that, just pull the head rest out of the seat. And that’s it, all done ! To put all together back, just plug in the head rest and turn the pins ANTI clockwise. Download pdf Fiat Marea Removing The Seat Head Rest
  • The Interplay of Real Life and Facebook in Defining Interpersonal Romantic Relationships
  • Electronic communication has been redefining the ways in which people communicate with each other since its wide-spread introduction in the 1990’s. E-mail, instant messaging, internet forums, and social networking have added entirely new meanings to interpersonal interaction and community. Through time, internet based communication has developed its own set of non-verbal communication (emoticons, select usage of certain punctuation, chat speak, etc.) Like all other communication technologies, it has also been adapted into everyday life and everyday communication (by those that have access of course). It is the interplay between internet and real life communication and its subsequent effect on interpersonal relationships that is the focus of this research proposal. Popular social networking websites such as Facebook have bundled many of the internet communication standards such as e-mail, forums, and instant messaging into one resource. Then these communication standards are linked together through a Web 2.0 standard called “social networking.” Social networking allows users to link and communicate with each other through a myriad of ways… and it is always at the user’s discretion. Research has already been done on who uses Facebook, why they do, and how much time they spend on it (Ellison, Steinfield, & Lampe, 2007). There has also been introductory research done on the benefits of social networking through Facebook (Stern & Taylor, 2007) and the electronic presenting and “looking glass” self through Facebook (Walther 2008). The academic world knows what Facebook is and why it’s used. However, in the last two years, Facebook usage has become a staple

Content inside this Audi A4 2.0T WE’RE REMINDED THAT all-wheel drive isn’t just for getting up a snowy driveway in wintertime. Testing the new Audi A4 Quattro, we were passing a long line of traffic bottled up behind a truck on a two-lane highway. No worries until we came abreast of an SUV shuffling along immediately behind the 18-wheeler. As we drew alongside, without warning the driver simply yanked his vehicle into the left lane to pass. Accelerating hard, we flicked the Audi far onto the left shoulder, the two right wheels barely remaining on the pavement, and simply drove around the sport-ute, completing the pass without drama. Apart from solid whacks as the left wheels hit deep craters on the dirt shoulder and a shotgun blast of gravel peppering the floorpan, the episode was over in momentsand barely noticeable. That’s the advantage of having all four wheels pulling for you, backed by a world-class Electronic Stability Control system. • Code Centric: T-SQL Programming with Stored Procedures and Triggers
  • The brackets around objectowner indicate it is an optional argument. An object’s owner is determined at create-time, but it can be changed post-creation. The main goal of this section is to explain which owner is assigned when you omit this optional argument or when the object is created by a member of the fixed-server role sysadmin. The rules that dictate who the object owner is can be a little confusing until you understand fixed-server and fixed-database roles and the system-created user dbo. The SQL Server fixed-server and fixed-database roles are somewhat analogous to the group concept used in NT to implement security. These roles are a part of SQL Server’s Security Model and allow you to more easily manage the actions users can perform. For example, a member of the fixed-server role sysadmin can perform any action within an instance of SQL Server, while a member of the fixed-database role db_owner can perform any action within a database. A member of the fixed-database role db_ddladmin can create, alter or delete all database objects within a database. Each database in an instance of SQL Server has a special system-created user called dbo (database owner). The dbo user has implicit permission to perform any action in a database and cannot be deleted. When a member of sysadmin performs any action within a database, it is executed in the context of dbo. The dbo user is not explicitly associated with the fixed-database roles db_owner or db_ddladmin. When you create a database object with a login
