  • O MNI B ROKER
  • O MNI B ROKER is an Object Request Broker (ORB) that is compliant to the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) specification, revision 2.0, as defined in [1] and [2] by the Object Management Group (OMG). Some highlights of O MNI B ROKER are: Full CORBA IDL support Complete CORBA IDL–to–C++ mapping Complete CORBA IDL–to–Java mapping Uses IIOP as native protocol Dynamic Invocation Interface Dynamic Skeleton Interface Interface Repository Peer–to–Peer communication with nested method invocations Support for non-blocking method invocations Support for timeouts Seamless integration with X11 and Windows A COS compliant Naming Service IDL–to–HTML translator for generating “javadoc”–like documentation DynAny API for dynamic Any type handling The current beta version has the following limitations: Only persistent (i.e. manually launched) servers are currently supported No multi–threaded C++ applications (OmniBroker for Java supports tread–per–request and thread–per–client). This manual is — apart from the “Getting started” chapter — not a replacement for a good CORBA book. There are many excellent introductory books on CORBA fundamentals, for example [4] or [5]. This manual does also not contain the precise specifications of the CORBA standard. This would definitely be out of its scope. However, for the understanding of this manual, a good knowledge of the CORBA specification in [1] is absolutely necessary. Especially the chapters covering CORBA IDL and the IDL–to–C++ mapping should be studied thoroughly. Do not expect any of the CORBA teaching books to be a reference for the IDL–to–C++ mapping. The books currently available only give an overview and are neither complete nor up–to–date. There is no substitute for the official CORBA specification as defined in [1]. What thismanual does contain, however, is informationon how

  • Creating Maya 4.x Blend Shapes for MOTIONBUILDER Tutorial
  • Maya Blend Shapes Guidelines • Do not use identical names. Since the FBX plugin is not case sensitive, conflicts may occur when merging back using the same letters for a given name (for example: big, Big, BIG are all the same). Use different names. ! Note: When renaming, use the “prefix hierarchy names” (>modify) command in Maya to rename a complete hierarchy. • Do not delete the target models from your scene until the file has been exported in FBX format. The FBX plugin needs these models to export the Blend Shapes. • Use the default options (“Origin:Local”, and “Check topology:On”), except for the deformation order option. In the Advanced tab, use the “Front of chain” and not the “Default” option. • Use only one Blend Shape input per object. Do not use the “Create Blend Shapes” command more than once on the same object. • Generate the Blend Shapes on each geometry separately. Do not use the entire group (like the head group), but instead use each part of the head separately. Good examples: - Face_base with happy_face_target and sad_face_target - Teeth_base with happy_teeth_target and sad_teeth_target Bad examples: - head_group with head_group_happy and head_group_sad Using the group method will transfer into MOTIONBUILDER, but will generate duplicate Blend Shapes in MOTIONBUILDER. • Binding xamDataGrid in Expression Blend and Visual Studio
  • Microsoft Expression Blend is an application that generates XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) via a user interface. Blend is designed to create all of the WPF UI (User Interface) elements such as windows, buttons, grid, and brushes on a designer surface. Blend will then emit all the necessary XAML code. Blend is a designer tool, so you still use Visual Studio 2005 to write the application code. (Note: If you have the next version of Visual Studio, codenamed “Orcas,” installed, you don’t need to install the Visual Studio Extensions for WPF or the .NET Framework 3.) Using the xamDataGrid in Blend 1. Launch Visual Studio 2005. 2. Start a New Project. 3. Select NET Framework 3.0 Windows Application (WPF) (VB or C#) as in Figure 1. 4. Add a reference to Infragistics WPF controls and supporting API as in Figure 2. 5. Build the Solution and Save all. As yet the Infragistics controls are not available in the toolbox to drag onto the design surface. We will achieve this by using Microsoft’s Expression Blend. 6. Start Blend and open the project just created. Note that Blend can read Visual Studio Solution files. Browse to where you saved the solution file and open it. You should see your solution displayed similar to Figure 3 in Blend. To access the Infragistics controls click on the button marked in red, the controls are in the Asset Library. • Web 2.0 Testing
  • Websites have changed significantly in the Web 2.0 world. The youtube generation has quite different expectations about websites in general. For starters, websites with plain HTML forms and smartly laid text are passé, and are being replaced by websites full of dynamic content: Google Maps, Gap’s highly interactive website and Nike’s all new Flash website are all examples of the new generation of websites. Not only are the sites getting richer – more rich media, video etc. – they enable users to do a lot more. Companies like Timberland, Ikea, Home Depot, Sherwin Williams, have created websites that offer sophisticated applications that allow users to create-a-custom-product or try-before-you-buy. A Web 2.0 website may feature any or all of a number of the following techniques: Rich Internet application techniques, optionally Ajax and Flash based Syndication and aggregation of data in RSS/Atom Extensive use of folksonomies (as tags or tag clouds) REST or XML Web service APIs Semantically valid XHTML markup and/or the use of Micro formats Clean and meaningful URLs Use of wikis Web log publishing Mashups Add these new technologies to the fact that the web browser market is no longer dominated by Microsoft Internet Explorer. Browsers like Firefox, Opera, Netscape and AOL are increasingly emerging as significant competitors. Download pdf Web 2.0 Testing
