Repair ManualWeb 2.0: Building Online Communities Using Social Networking TechnologiesOver the past three years, Internet web sites have been evolving into a series of platforms organizing content and communications among individuals and organizations for the purpose of social networking. Sites like MySpace, YouTube and Wikipedia have shifted online activities from “browsing” to collaborating, interacting and personalizing. MySpace boasts over 100 million accounts, YouTube serves an average of 100 million video streams per day and Wikipedia contains over 1.7 million articles in English edited by users from all over the world. As a result, web design and organizational thinking in this new era needs to be more focused on building event-driven experiences, rather than simply designing information silos ammended with numerous hyperlinks. But how do consumers and businesses keep up with these changes and more importantly how do they exploit the new technologies in ways that benefit customers, employees, and even their industry? This issue of Educational Update is designed for that very purpose.
WEB 2.0 Technologies
Web 2.0 is the collection of server-based solutions that have allowed the web to become a publishing platform. Instead of the traditional one-way form of web authoring, these solutions invite all Internet users to share, collaborate, and contribute in the process of website development. Users now have an increased ability to contribute text, bookmarks, photos, audio, videos and more to many different websites. This ease of access to web content alters the way users interact with the new world wide web. Users can now build an online social network where community members contribute content, shareLeverage J2EE when building Enterprise Web 2.0 ApplicationsJ2EE has been a staple of enterprise development for a long time. Whether you consider it bloated or difficult to work with, many enterprises have entrusted their mission-critical applications to the platform. There are many reasons for this - standards, vendor adoption, the number of frameworks, etc. Regardless of the reason, Nexaweb works seamlessly with the J2EE environment.
Nexaweb’s Platform can be completely integrated into any J2EE infrastructure. Out-of-the-box, the Nexaweb Platform snaps into any J2EE 2.3 Servlet Container by deploying a set of resources and API’s that developers can use to build next generation applications or migrate existing applications. The Nexaweb Platform has been tested and deployed on all of today’s most popular J2EE application servers including Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere, Weblogic, etc. Nexaweb’s seamless integration with J2EE is the result of Nexaweb’s commitment to standards. This technical brief covers each component of the Nexaweb Platform to provide a detailed explanation of how you and your development team can leverage your J2EE framework to build Enterprise Web 2.0 application with Nexaweb. .
Client-side Rendering
There are many architectural decisions that Nexaweb has made to make integration with a J2EE architecture possible, but none more important than Nexaweb’s client architecture. Nexaweb’s Universal Client Framework (UCF) is a set of three rendering engines implemented in two runtimes (Ajax and Java). All of Nexaweb’s clients work in the same way a Web browser works - they retrieve a file from the server and based on the Markup in the file, render the application by creating allLynn Allen’s Tips and Tricks For Using AutoCAD 2008 SoftwareNew D Workspace
If you are using only 2D AutoCAD ® commands, why not use the new 2D Drafting & Annotation workspace? This capability displays powerful 2D tools on the Dashboard.
D Dashboard Control Panels
New 2D control panels provide easy access to layers and include controls for annotation scaling, text, dimensions, multiple leaders, tables, 2D navigation commands, object properties, and block attributes. When you select a tool from the Dashboard, the corresponding tool palette also displays, where applicable.
Tool Palettes
When you drag geometry to an inactive tool palette, it is automatically activated for easy placement—just give it an extra second to switch.
• A new Specify Image option on the shortcut menu makes it easy to assign an image to any tool.
• The location of tools on a tool palette is now saved in the tool catalog (and the profile), making it easier to share your tool palettes with others and maintain the same look and feel.
• Use TPNAVIGATE to set a tool palette current at the command line (for programming purposes).
Clean Screen
Use the Clean Screen button located in the lower-right corner of the screen to turn off everything except for the status and menu bars and the command window. This feature comes in handy when showing files to a client and you need to quickly clean up your interface.

Smart dimensioning tools force overlapping dimensions to automatically space themselves appropriately while integrating tolerance and fit list information into the drawing. Inspection dimensions enable you to specify testing criteria. Read on to learn more about how you can use Power Dimension to quickly change, edit, or delete dimensions and spend your time innovating rather than managing workflow issues. It’s much more enjoyable.
Using Distance Snap
Back when I was drafting on basic AutoCAD, a long time ago, I had a bad habit. I’d spend hours making my drawings look good. Yeah, you know what I mean; it all starts when trying to place dimension lines at just the right distance from the geometry, then it snow balls into aligning dimensions and rearranging dimensions and before you know it you’ve just spent another hour. Thankfully, we upgraded to AutoCAD Mechanical and I found power dimension and its distance snap... the rest they say is history.
So here’s how it works. After you’ve specified the first and second extension lines, power dimension will ask you to specify the dimension line location; just like AutoCAD does. But instead of trying to find another dimension to align it with, keep dragging your cursor. The preview will ‘snap’ to a location and change from green to red. This is power dimension’s distance snap and while it is snapped in position and red, the56K Analog Modem User's ManualFax Modem Installation CD is an installation utility for USB Data / FAX / TAM Analog Modems.
