  • SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office
  • Each day business users everywhere gather, manipulate and report information using Microsoft Office applications. But in most cases, the data that is needed for analyses and reports originates in, or is analyzed by, systems and applications outside of the Microsoft Office suite. Business analysts frequently need access to large data sources that exceed the limitations of Microsoft Office tools. They also may need access to sophisticated analytic techniques such as predictive analysis and forecasting capabilities that are not available in standard reporting packages. Yet they still need to present the results of their analysis in formats that others can share and understand. As a result, IT groups spend valuable time developing custom systems to channel data, reports and analyses from various systems into Microsoft Office documents, or integrating analytics into standard reporting applications. This leads to IT backlogs, long wait times for reports and analyses, and invalid analyses based on highly aggregated data. What if you could easily incorporate the powerful data management, analytics and reporting capabilities of SAS into your organization’s widely used Microsoft Office tools? With SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office, you can. SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office is a Component Object Model (COM) add-in to Microsoft Office that enables organizations to harness the power of SAS analytics and provides easy access to data directly from Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Web 2.0: Hype or Happiness?
  • Web 2.0 has initiated a new age of Web interaction. Countless everyday activities such as seeking information, shopping, filling in forms and making appointments can be done effectively and often more cheaply on the Web. However many of the new community sites, and other Web 2.0 sites, do not promote accessibility in terms of inclusivity. They are built for, and are of most benefit to, young socially integrated people who own their own laptop and live in a world of readily available radio LAN and fast access broadband. However many older or disabled people are living on low budgets and do not have access to such things. Those for whom the Web is inaccessible for whatever reason will become increasingly excluded from mainstream life if it is not made accessible to them. This paper argues for a holistic approach to accessibly which addresses all aspects of the user’s life. It tracks the impact of the advent of Web 2.0 on Web accessibility in its widest sense. It starts with a definition of accessibility, which in this context means apart from physical access, inclusion and acceptability. Through the use of case studies it examines worrying trends brought about by Web 2.0, and positive signs of improvement in accessibility, due to Web 2.0. Web 2.0 has initiated a new age of Web interaction. • Windows 7 to Swim in Windows Live + Yahoo? Where Will Vista SP1 and XP SP3 Fit?
  • Traditionally, Microsoft's core business has been focused on the Windows platform and the Office suite. Windows and Office, by all means, continue to be the heart of Microsoft. The latest versions of the flagship products, Windows Vista and the Office 2007 System, made available to the public at the end of January 2007, have fueled the vast majority of the company's most recent fiscal second quarter record financial results of $16.37 billion in revenue, and $6.48 billion in operating income. With Office SP1 out of the way at the end of 2007, Microsoft is currently building Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows 7 client platforms, as well as putting the finishing touches on Windows Server 2008. But on February 1st, 2008, the Redmond company managed to steal the show away from its flagship products with the $44.6 billion cash and stock unsolicited acquisition proposal directed at Yahoo. Enjoying a continual near-monopoly on the desktop with Windows and Office, and pushing hard on the server side with the new lineup of Windows Server, SQL Server, ISS7 and PHP against Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, and with the entertainment division starting to pick up steam, Microsoft is now turning to the Internet. In the Cloud, the Redmond company is the indisputable underdog. And with the rival Internet giant from Mountain View hugging the online advertising and search engine markets, Microsoft is now doing a tad of hugging itself: bear hugging. Microsoft has been looking to acquire Yahoo
  • Canon ICC Profiles Guide pdf
  • Dedicated ICC profiles provided to allow accurate rendering of image data recorded in Adobe RGB color space. What is Adobe RGB color space? The most widely used color space for digital camera image data is the sRGB color space. But in addition to sRGB, certain high-end cameras such as the EOS-1Ds/1D/10D are capable of recording image data in Adobe RGB color space, a color space commonly used for commercial printing applications. Adobe RGB color space provides a broader color gamut than sRGB, particularly for colors in the cyan to green region. The reproduction range of BJ printers is similarly extended beyond the sRGB range in the cyan to green region. In other words, Adobe RGB provides a better match of the color reproduction ranges between these digital cameras and BJ printers than sRGB. Dedicated ICC profiles allow images recorded with extended color gamut in Adobe RGB color space to be printed using the full color reproduction range of BJ printers. Printing Adobe RGB images without the suitable adjustments would result in the substitution of color data outside the sRGB color range with sRGB colors, resulting in incorrect reproduction of colors on BJ printers, particularly for the colors in the gray region in the sample shown above. This is why dedicated ICC profiles are provided. These dedicated ICC profiles allow color reproduction information for image data to be transferred to the BJ printer with virtually no loss, allowing use of the full BJ printer color reproduction range. sRGB PIXUS Adobe RGB The
  • SEMANTIC AND PERCEPTUAL MANAGEMENT OF SOUND EFFECTS IN PRODUCTION
  • Main professional sound effects (SFX) providers offer their collections using... methods in a commercial sound effect management system. INTRODUCTION SEMANTIC AND PERCEPTUAL MANAGEMENT OF SOUND EFFECTS IN PRODUCTION SYSTEMS P. Cano, M. Koppenberger, S. Le Groux, J. Ricard and N. Wack Univeitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain ABSTRACT Main professional sound effects (SFX) provide offer their collectio using standard text-retrieval technologies. SFX cataloging is an error-prone and labor couming task. The vagueness of the query specification, normally one or two words, together with the ambiguity and informality of natural languages affects the quality of the search: Some relevant sounds are not retrieved and some irrelevant ones are presented to the user. The use of ontologies alleviates some of the ambiguity problems inherent to natural languages, yet they pose othe. It is very complicated to devise and maintain an ontology that account for the level of detail needed Download
  • Screw Thread for Metal Screws Using 3DS Max
  • 1. Create a ‘Helix’ spline object from the create panel. Make sure there are plenty of turns in it and that both radii are the same. 2. Add an extrude modifier and adjust the amount so it just about reaches the next coil, get it as close as possible but don’t spend ages doing it as step 4 will sort it out. 3. As you will notice the tube is inside out so add a 'Normals' modifier to flip them and turn it the right way. 4. Now as there is still a gap in-between the coils add a 'Vertex Weld' modifier and increase the value just enough to weld the gap together. 5. Now, add an 'Edit Poly' modifier and go into 'Edge' sub-object mode, then select one edge travelling the length of the tube and hit 'Ring' (Alt+R) to select the entire helix. 6. Click the small grey box next to 'Connect' in the modify panel and give the selection 1 edge segment. You will now have two spirals travelling the length of the tube. (I forgot to do an image of this stage :) 7. Select one edge of one spiral and click 'Loop' (Alt+L) in the modify panel to select the entire spiral. Then click the 'Scale' tool (R) and drag the web connecting the two width axes for the tube (shown in yellow in the image below), this will create your thread depth. • USING MICROSOFT WORD 2007 FOR APA TASKS
  • Get started off right! Set up APA format before you begin typing. You can set formatting just for your current APA paper, or you can change the default so that the formatting stays set for future APA papers. (You can set the default back to MS Word's original settings at any time.) As you become more familiar with Word 2007 for APA, you will find shortcuts for some of the tasks described in this section. The directions below allow the option of changing your default settings so you won't have to keep reformatting each time you start an APA paper. The APA recommends a serif* 12-point typeface. The University standard is Times New Roman. Keep typeface the same throughout the paper, even for page numbers and headers. Do italicize the type in headings and certain words (refer to APA manual). Do not use boldface or underline in APA papers. To set font, 1. On the Ribbon Bar, click the Home tab. 2. In the Font section of the Home tab, click the arrow in the right corner. 3. When the Font setting window opens, select Times New Roman, Regular, 12. Note: Rather than scroll through the list of fonts, you can type the font name in the box. 4. To set the font for the current paper only, click OK. 5. To keep this font setting for all papers, change the default as follows: a. Click the Default button at bottom left of the Font menu. b. When the next window opens, click the Yes button.. *Serifs are the tiny lines
