  • Microsoft Exchange Connector
  • The Microsoft Exchange connector allows users to index Microsoft Exchange content. By using a unique special administrative account, all the mailboxes and public folders can be indexed. Features The Microsoft Exchange connector can be used to index mailboxes. It allows Coveo Enterprise Search (CES) to crawl and index the content of a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or 2007 installation. Furthermore, it offers a more efficient search than Microsoft Exchange’s built-in search components. Feature List The following details the features available in the Microsoft Exchange connector: - Mailbox indexing - Public Folder indexing - Security: CES indexes security by combining Microsoft Exchange permissions set in Microsoft Exchange by users and Active Directory by administrators. - Live indexing: Allows the connector to periodically query Microsoft Exchange for the latest edits, keeping the index content up to date. - The Microsoft Exchange connector collects a maximum of metadata for emails, contacts, tasks and calendars. - The Microsoft Exchange connector supports form-based authentication, which should be used when the OWA server is configured to use it. Two types of form-based authentications are supported: - Standard Exchange Form Based Authentication - ISA Server Form Based Authentication Download pdf Microsoft Exchange Connector

  • Using DBManager to Configure MySQL
  • It is sometimes daunting for a beginner to configure and use the MySQL database engine. A good GUI can help no end. My favourite Windows-based GUI is called DBManager, and is available from www.dbtools.com.br. This tutorial assumes you have read and followed my two earlier tutorials, on installing Apache and PHP, and on installing MySQL. Downloading DBManager After finding the www.dbtools.com.br site, and selecting either Portuguese or English, you need to find the Download link. There is only a free version available at the moment, so follow that link. You will be asked for a few bits of personal information, before you get to the download page. Installing DBManager Just locate where you downloaded the file and double-click. It installs quickly. Just note that the database server must be installed before DBManager. It should also be noted that DBManager will control PostgreSQL as well as MySQL databases. Download pdf Using DBManager to Configure MySQL

  • Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP and MySQL, 3rd Edition (First 4 Chapters)
  • Over the course of this book, it will be my job to guide you as you take your first steps beyond the HTML world of client-side site design. Together, we’ll explore what it takes to develop the kind of large, content-driven sites that are so successful today, but which can be a real headache to maintain if they aren’t built right. Before we get started, you need to gather together the tools you’ll need for the job. In this first chapter, I’ll guide you as you download and set up the two software packages you’ll need: PHP and MySQL. PHP is a server-side scripting language. You can think of it as a “plug-in” for your Web server that will allow it to do more than just send plain Web pages when browsers request them. With PHP installed, your Web server will be able to read a new kind of file (called a PHP script) that can do things like retrieve up-to-the-minute information from a database and insert it into a Web page before sending it to the browser that requested it. PHP is completely free to download and use. To retrieve information from a database, you first need to have a database. That’s where MySQL comes in. MySQL is a relational database management system, or RDBMS. We’ll get into the exact role it plays and how it works later, but basically it’s a software package that is very good at the organization and management of large amounts of information. MySQL also makes
