  • Is e-Teaching Web Zero or Potentially Web 2.1?
  • The current pedagogical trend about involving students in their learning is naturally extended to student-centered learning in e-Learning systems. Likewise, instructional designs are developed to enable and motivate students at center stage to learn effectively and willingly. However, from our ten years of experience in promoting an e-Learning system called TIES in higher education, we have realized that an “e-Teaching” environment for teachers to teach effectively and happily needs to be founded as a prerequisite to successful e-Learning. We further argue that “e-Teaching” can be developed to be a central idea that is actually more important than e-Learning. The reasons are as follows: (1) teaching is more fun and active than learning, (2) teaching requires more creative and imaginative brain work than learning, (3) teaching creates more value than learning, and (4) the Web is growing as a global brain harnessing intellectual knowledge. A seemingly innocuous shift of the center of attention from students to teachers may transform e-Teaching as a current Web 0 status to even Web 2.1, if we may borrow a trendy word from a recent Web 2.0 hype. Increasingly, e-Leaning today is defined by terms like Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the context of ubiquitous IT network society. However, the bottom line of e-Learning is defined as training delivered on a PC/Internet to improve students' learning performance and their self-motivation and self-directedness. Instructional designs are also aimed at supporting students to learn effectively in an e-Learning environment. Thus, the architecture of e-Learning is clearly focused on students, and
  • About Microsoft .NETMicro Framework
  • Built on the .NET foundation and optimized for use in small intelligent devices, .NET Micro Framework combines the reliability and efficiency offered by a .NET enabled managed code environment, the strength of the C# programming language, and the professional Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 tools. Sharing existing .NET code across multiple product lines and platforms results in a shortened development cycle and significantly improved productivity. With its small memory footprint, specific focus on critical features, and Digi’s exclusive support for Ethernet network connectivity, .NET Micro Framework is the ideal choice for smaller network-connected devices utilizing Digi embedded modules in applications that do not rely on the advanced capabilities of a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) or advanced operating system environments such as Microsoft Windows® Embedded CE or Linux®. The Digi JumpStart Kit™ for Microsoft .NET Micro Framework provides an easy-to-use and complete solution for embedded development. The kit includes a Digi embedded module, development board with power supply, sample code and user documentation. • Using IrfanView to batch resize and rename your photos
  • IrfanView is a very fast, compact and innovative graphics viewing and editing program for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista. It is free for non-commercial use and is on the Approved Software List. IrfanView is simple for beginners and powerful for professionals. In the following tutorial we describe a procedure to resize and rename a number of files to be ready for uploading to Pixbird. If you just use an iPhone you don’t need this procedure. However, using more powerful cameras the file sizes will get quite large and therefore the upload time is extended. Since Pixbird does not keep large files und is going to resize your pictures anyway it is a good idea to resize the photos at your end and before uploading. Step 1 Open Irfanview and select the “File” button at the top of the screen. Next select the “Batch Conversion/Rename” option to open the Batch conversion window. 1. Select the folder with the images you want to prepare for Pixbird (be sure to keep the original images in a separate folder) 2. Select “Add all” 3. Click the “use this directory as output” button (if you prefer to select a different folder to write the reduced size images to, select the “Browse” button and do so). 4. Be sure the “Batch conversion – rename result files” setting is selected (if you like to keep the original file names select “Batch conversion” instead). 5. Name pattern: Select “Options” Step 2 The following window will open for batch conversion. At this point you will have six (6) settings to check. Download pdf Using

  • Convergence – Mobile Web 2.0
  • The evolution of Web 2.0 has deep roots in our human psyche. Web 2.0 is about connecting two or more users with each other, creating communities, connecting assets to owners and growing virally. Enterprise Web 2.0 involves another level of engagement by connecting assets to people, and enterprises to enterprises. Tangible “connected value” comes in various shades, leaving the phylogeny difficult to define. Fundamentally, the Internet is far ahead of the mobile industry in developing 2.0 applications. A concept that has captured Web 2.0 is annotated broadcast television. This includes a term called “vommenting” (spelling is correct). Enterprise Web 2.0 applications, and its coordination of documents, workflow and communications, gives rise to a term called “Webification.” The goal is that the IT organization becomes a catalyst for organizational change through the use of the flexibility of business-driven technology. Some of the examples outlined in this report are 5 to 10 years away; however, the principles which provide guidance are in development, now, on a global scale. This report comments on a modicum of the evolving Web 2.0, and Mobile Web 2.0, environments. It is up to the user, and the enterprise, to experiment and implement. The Internet is evolving from desire, to human interaction. In the field of telecommunications, this is a multi-layered integrated world. It came from a simple tethered telephony solution - the land line telephone. Therefore, there is a revolution developing at the edge of the network which will impact our society in many fundamental ways. Individuals are increasingly connected through

  • Internet BMW Riders and Oilhead Riders Cold Engine and Drivetrain Procedures Check Alternator Belt Tools Parts T-handle hex – 4mm none Note: In most cases the alternator belt does not need to be checked any more. Early models should have the pulley and belt upgrade that came out a few years ago. Current recommendations are that the belt is installed and adjusted, then not disturbed until 36K when replacement is specified. 1. Remove the four bolts holding the black plastic alternator belt cover at the front of the engine, 4mm T-handle hex. 2. Remove the cover by sliding it straight down. 3. Check the belt for cracks or shredding. 4. Check the belt tension, quite tight, ~1/4” deflection when you press on the center. Note: Paul Glaves suggests that proper belt tension is when you can twist the belt ~90 degrees, midway between the pulleys. If you can twist it more than 90 degrees, it is too loose. If you cannot twist it 90 degrees, then it is too tight. 5. Leave the cover off for the valve adjustment procedure on the next page. Download BMW Oilhead Maintenance Manual

The Civic Hybrid resembles a Civic 4-door sedan, except that it has a roof antenna above the windshield. It also has the words, “Hybrid” and “Gasoline-Electric,” on the back. Most chassis and body components are made of standard materials like steel, aluminum, and plastic. A few parts are made of magnesium. Curb Weight The curb weight of the Civic Hybrid is 2,732 pounds (1,239 kg) for CVT vehicles, and 2,661 pounds (1,207 kg) for manual transmission vehicles. Vehicle Description GASOLINE ELECTRIC Engine The main power source is a 1.3 liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine located under the hood. Electric Motor During start-up and acceleration, the engine is assisted by a battery-powered electric motor, located between the engine and the transmission. During braking and deceleration, the electric motor acts as a generator to recharge the high-voltage battery and the 12-volt battery. Turning the ignition switch to either the Accessory (I) or the Lock (0) position turns off the engine and the electric motor. 12-Volt Battery The conventional 12-volt battery under the hood powers all standard electronics such as the lights, audio system,
