A Practical Dynamic Buffer Overflow DetectorDespite previous efforts in auditing software manually and automatically, buffer overruns are still being discovered in programs in use. A dynamic bounds checker detects buffer overruns in erroneous software before it occurs and thereby prevents attacks from corrupting the integrity of the system. Dynamic buffer overrun detectors have not been adopted widely because they either (1) cannot guard against all buffer overrun attacks (2) break existing code or (3) incur too high an overhead. This paper presents a practical detector called CRED (C Range Error Detector) that avoids each of these defeciencies.
CRED finds all buffer overrun attacks as it directly checks for the bounds of memory accesses. Unlike the original referent-object based bound-checking technique, CRED does not break existing cde because it uses a novel solution to support program manipulation of out-of-bounds addresses. Finally, by restricting the bounds checks to strings in a program, CRED’s overhead is greatly reduced without sacrificing protection in the experiments we performed.

Download PDFAnalyzing IP Traffic Captured by NetsniffNetSniff is a multi-network-layered real-time traffic capture and analysis tool developed as part of the ICE 3 project being run out of the Center for Advanced Internet Architectures (CAIA). NetSniff uses the PCAP library [11] to capture network traffic on a network interface or from a tcpdump [11] formatted file and parses the captured traffic at multiple network layers to produce a detailed set of statistics. Logfileparser is a complementary tool creating a database and filling it with the data captured by NetSniff. This database file can then be queried to obtain relevant statistics and generate graphical results using the R [7] software.
This paper describes the procedures involved to install over a FreeBSD machine all software required to generate these results, as well as provide a brief tutorial in the usage of both lofileparser and R. The first section describes the installation and basic use of NetSniff. Section two outlines the installation of logfileparser and how to generate a database from the logfiles created by NetSniff, while Section 3 covers the installation and usage of R to generate graphical results.

What is Subversion?
Subversion is a centralized multiuser version control system. Project files and full history of modifications are stored in a repository. The repository can be located both on a server, and on a local computer.
Each developer has his own copy of the project on the local computer, which is called the working copy. You can freely make any changes in your working copy, such as modifying files, adding new files, renaming files and folders and so on. And you don't even need a permanent connection to the repository. For example, you can work on your laptop on a plane. When a logical bundle of modifications is ready, you can upload it to the repository as a single atomic commit. Subversion automatically prevents overwrites of modifications that are made by another developer.INSTALLING, CONFIGURING, AND DEVELOPING WITH XAMPPXAMPP is a small and light Apache distribution containing the most common web development technologies in a single package. Its contents, small size, and portability make it the ideal tool for students developing and testing applications in PHP and MySQL. XAMPP is available as a free download in two specific packages: full and lite. While the full package download provides a wide array of development tools, this article will focus on using XAMPP Lite which contains the necessarytechnologies that meet the Ontario Skills Competition standards. As the name implies, the light version is a small package containing Apache HTTP Server, PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, Openssl, and SQLite. For more details on the packaging and versions, refer to TABLE 1.

Obtaining and Installing XAMPP
As previously mentioned, XAMPP is a free package available for download and use for various web development tasks. Once on the website, navigate and find the Windows version of XAMPP Lite and download the self-extracting ZIP archive. By design, radial tire construction and low aspect ratios contribute to a vehicle’s ride and handling quality. Proper tire mounting, balancing and installation are critical to attaining a smooth vehicle ride. Vehicle vibration and a suspected problem tire may actually be due to an improperly balanced tire and wheel assembly or related to the mechanical condition of the vehicle. BALANCING The technical definition of balance is the uniform distribution of mass about an axis of rotation, where the center of gravity is in the same location as the center of rotation.
A balanced tire is one where mass of the tire – when mounted on its wheel and the car’s axle – is uniformly distributed around the axle (its center of rotation). Balanced tires can spell the difference between a positive and negative driving experience. Drivers of new, high performance or luxury vehicles may be more sensitive to imbalance problems, but no driver is happy with an annoying vibration. An out-of-balance tire and wheel assembly:
• Degrades ride quality and driver comfort.
• Shortens the life of tires, bearings, shock absorber, and other suspension components. Vibration is the most noticeable effect of imbalance.

We developed prototype solution for Slovenian company Iskratel d.o.o. They use SAP R/3 Enterprise Resource Planning system for internal operations. At the faculty two groups of undergraduate students were established to carry out this project. One group represented the buyer‘s perspective and the other supplier‘s perspective. In our prototype these two groups exchanged purchase order and purchase order confirmation in the electronic form. Two different software, SAP R/3 system and Microsoft BizTalk Server, were used in the prototype. We tested three different possibilities for the connection between these two systems: SAP DCOM Connector, BizTalk Adapter for SAP and SAP Business Connector.
The interaction between systems can be established in two ways. Firstly, the SAP R/3 system is possible to be initiator. The new document is thus created in SAP R/3 system and immediately sent to the other system (in our case to BizTalk Server). Secondly, the client can be the initiator. Client checks in its partner‘s system (SAP R/3) if there is a document waiting. In our prototype, the second choice was used.
