In the old days, each manufacturer provided a program called an assembler that would convert special words into individual machine instructions. Thus, you might write something really cryptic like MOV AX,CX. (That’s an actual Intel processor instruction, by the way.) The assembler would convert that instruction into a pattern of bits corresponding to a single machine instruction. Humans and computers have decided to meet somewhere in the middle. Programmers create their programs in a language that is not nearly as free as human speech but a lot more flexible and easy to use than machine language. The languages that occupy this middle ground — C#, for example — are called high-level computer languages. (High is a relative term here.)
What is a program? In one sense, a Windows program is an executable file that you can run by double-clicking its icon. For example, the version of Microsoft Word that I’m using to write this book is a program. You call that an executable program, or executable for short. The names of executable program files gener- ally end with the extension .exe. But a program is something else, as well. An executable program consists of one or more source files. A C# program file is a text file that contains a sequence of C# commands, which fit together according to the laws of C# grammar. Black and white conversions are radical transformations of images. They're about reestablishing the tonal foundations of an image. That's quite different than dodging and burning, or lightening and darkening locally, which is a matter of accentuating existing tonal relationships.
Conversion methods
There are almost a dozen ways to convert an image from color to black and white; and you can probably find at least one expert to support each way as the best conversion method. The bottom line is that most conversion methods work reasonably well. The method that works best for you depends on your particular workflow and the tools that you're comfortable with. The following method isn't necessarily the best and it isn't the fastest—it generates a larger file—but it offers you the most control and flexibility.
Creating layers from channels offers you more control than any other conversion method. It also offers you the flexibility of being able to change any aspect of the conversion at any time in the future. Here's how you do it: copy the individual channels of a color image,and then paste them into the same document as the original color image.Next, rename the layers accordingly. Then, reduce the opacity of the layers to achieve the result that you want. If you want a neutral image and don't want the color of the Background layer to show through, keep the opacity of the layer directly above the color Background layer at 100%.

Lotus Notes Basics
To use Notes, you must have a user id (a small password protected file on your computer), and know your username and password.
The first time you open Notes, you will be presented with the following box; you must enter your password to continue.
To change you password, choose File – Security – User Security. Then click the Change Password button.
If you leave your computer, press F5 to log off/lock your computer. Locking your Notes display lets you protect your data when you are away from your computer, without having to close the databases you are working in. It is a good idea to lock your Notes display whenever you leave data unattended.

1. Start by creating a NURBS or a polygon plane. NURBS is propably best, but I used polygons on this one. Make it a high resolution, like 80x80.
2. Go into Polygons>Mesh>Sculpt Geometry Tool. Or if using NURBS go into Surfaces>Edit NURBS>Sculpt Geometry.
3. Model a valley in the middle of your plane.
4. Select your plane and go to Animation>Deform>Create Nonlinear>Twist. Resize the deformer, so that it fits just like on the image to the right.
5. Start playing with the Start Angle under the derformer’s attributes. After finding a suitable value, then start sizing the plane. As we scale it through the y-axis, the deformed plane will now twist like a whirlpool.
6. Go to frame 1 and extend the duration of your timeline. I went with 400 frames. At frame 1 keyframe the scale of the y-axis. Size to the point, where you want the shape to begin. Then go to frame 400 and scale the y-axis out, so that the malstroem will be at its final state. Key- frame and watch the animation. Simple, but if done properly it looks cool.
