Web 2.0 Ideas for Educators A Guide to RSS and MoreRSS is an acronym that stands for Rich Site Summary, though it’s often alternatively defined as Really Simple Syndication. The simplest definition of RSS is an eXtensible Markup Language(XML) format that uses the Resource Description Framework (RDF) for representing information about resources on the World Wide Web. Similarly, Atom is another format based on XML technology.
You might see buttons like these:
There are a few types of feeds commonly found on web sites RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and Atom. There is quite a bit of debate about which type of xml format is better, but for the purpose of simplicity I will often be referring to feeds as RSS. RSS and Atom feeds are the structures that organize content which is being updated on a regular basis in order for others to retrieve it. This content could be articles, blog posts, photos, PDF documents, PowerPoint Presentations, audio files, video files, or other applications. If the content is the flesh of an orange then a feed would be its skin. The skin keeps the flesh in place so that it is easier to transport.
In 2003, RSS was more commonly associated with weblogs, known as blogs. Blogs and RSS feeds almost seemed to be an isolated cause and effect. Where there was a blog, you would find an RSS feed.
As this visualization shows, RSS feeds can more recently be seen being used for many different purposes. Bloggers created a different type of media, by adding audio and video files as the primary contentGNS3 Graphical Network SimulatorGNS3 is a Graphical Network Simulator that allows emulation of complex networks. You may be familiar with VMWare or Virtual PC that are used to emulate various operating systems in a virtual environment. These programs allow you to run operating systems such as Windows XP Professional or Ubuntu Linux in a virtual environment on your computer. GNS3 allows the same type of emulation using Cisco Internetwork Operating Systems. It allows you to run a Cisco IOS in a virtual environment on your computer. GNS3 is a graphical front end to a product called Dynagen. Dynamips is the core program that allows IOS emulation. Dynagen runs on top of Dynamips to create a more user friendly, text-based environment. A user may create network topologies using simple Windows ini-type files with Dynagen running on top of Dynamips. GNS3 takes this a step further by providing a graphical environment.
GNS3 allows the emulation of Cisco IOSs on your Windows or Linux based computer. Emulation is possible for a long list of router platforms and PIX firewalls. Using an EtherSwitch card in a router, switching platforms may also be emulated to the degree of the card’s supported functionality. This means that GNS3 is an invaluable tool for preparing for Cisco certifications such as CCNA and CCNP. There are a number of router simulators on the market, but they are limited to the commands that the developer chooses to include. Almost always there are commands or parameters that are not supported when working on a practiceNetwork Administration GuideThis equipment supports the various features of electronic document processing over a network such as network printing, scanning, and sending Email or Internet Fax over the Internet. To enable these features, an administrator has to assign the proper network configuration to client computers, servers, and this equipment.
NOTES:
• This chapter describes the setup flow for network features. For information about setting up local features such as copy and fax, please see the User Functions Guide. The guide describes how to operate the [User Functions] button that contains setup features for users and administrators. Some settings can be assigned from the Touch Panel Display on this equipment. Before setting up from TopAccess, please see the User Functions Guide and perform the initial setup for this equipment.
• Parallel printing is available only when the Parallel Interface is installed.
Connecting to the Local Area Network over TCP/IP
When this equipment is connected to the local area network over TCP/IP with Windows computers, Unix workstations, and NetWare servers, the following features are avail- able:

• Raw TCP or LPR Printing in the Peer-to-Peer connection from Windows computers P.16 "Setup Flow for Raw TCP or LPR Printing"
• IPP Printing in the Peer-to-Peer connection from Windows computers P.19 "Setup Flow for IPP Printing"

Since the FBX plugin is not case sensitive, conflicts may occur when merging back using the same letters for a given name (for example: big, Big, BIG are all the same). Use different names. ! Note: When renaming, use the “prefix hierarchy names” (>modify) command in Maya to rename a complete hierarchy. • Do not delete the target models from your scene until the file has been exported in FBX format. The FBX plugin needs these models to export the Blend Shapes. • Use the default options (“Origin:Local”, and “Check topology:On”), except for the deformation order option. In the Advanced tab, use the “Front of chain” and not the “Default” option. • Use only one Blend Shape input per object. Do not use the “Create Blend Shapes” command more than once on the same object. • Generate the Blend Shapes on each geometry separately. Do not use the entire group (like the head group), but instead use each part of the head separately.
Good examples: - Face_base with happy_face_target and sad_face_target - Teeth_base with happy_teeth_target and sad_teeth_target Bad examples: - head_group with head_group_happy and head_group_sad Using the group method will transfer into MOTIONBUILDER, but will generate duplicate Blend Shapes in MOTIONBUILDER.

On Windows, a plug-in is built as a DLL (dynamic-link library). On Macintosh, a plug-in is built as a bundle that contains a shared library. The plug-in architecture in Illustrator is very powerful. Plug-ins have access to Illustrator’s elegant vector, text, and raster engines, as well as Illustrator’s user interface. The API is a fundamental part of the application; in fact, most of Illustrator itself is implemented as plug-ins. You can create plug-ins that add new tools to the drawing, shading, and raster tools already in Illustrator. Plug-ins can turn Illustrator into a powerful CAD, cartographic, or other custom design application. Users can add or remove plug-ins to quickly and easily customize Illustrator to their needs.
The Illustrator API offers several benefits to plug-in developers. Because Illustrator handles large application tasks like printing and saving files, you can concentrate on the implementation of your plug-in’s unique features. Plug-ins do not need to support undo or window updating; these are handled by the API and are invisible to the plug-in. This translates into shorter development cycles.
Your plug-in also can take advantage of Adobe Dialog Manager (ADM), a cross-platform, user-interface API. Plug-ins that use ADM floating panels are completely integrated with Illustrator; the panels can be docked, undocked, and controlled as if they were built into Illustrator.

On 3 April, on the eve of the New York Auto Show, the extraordinary photos of the new coupé were on display for the first time at the Audi Forum New York - some in colour, others in black and white; some in high definition, others coarse-grained. “When I photograph a car, I’m not just documenting its appearance. In my work I try to capture its personality and express emotions,” explained the artist.
The Audi A5 and S5, which will be unveiled for the first time in the USA, were another premiere at the private viewing. An exclusive concert by English jazz musician Jamie Cullum ensured a feel-good atmosphere at the event. Exquisite creations by celebrity chef David Bouley were another highlight greatly enjoyed by the guests.
In the limelight, however, was the new coupé - for chief designer Walter de’Silva the “most beautiful car” that he has ever designed. And, of course, GABO’s varied works of art: “For Walter de’Silva, designing a car is art. That’s why I had to photograph the A5 as if
