  • Using libcurl in Visual Studio
  • “Curl is a tool for transferring files with URL syntax, supporting FTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, GOPHER, TELNET, DICT, FILE and LDAP. Curl supports HTTPS certificates, HTTP POST, HTTP PUT, FTP uploading, kerberos, HTTP form based upload, proxies, cookies, user+password authentication, file transfer resume, http proxy tunnelling and a busload of other useful tricks.” Here in this document we explain how to use CURL as a dll library in your Visual Studio C/C++ Project. There are many ways to use CURL but here we explain the simplest way with the minimum files needed from CURL. Once you build and run this simple application you can explorer other features of CURL and add more functionalities to your project. The document explains how to configure different parts which seems, by reading news groups, many people have similar problems with using dll files and configuration of Visual Studio and curl libs. So now that I have solution to those problems why not putting everything in a document so that other people don’t put same amount of time to figure out solutions to those problems. • Overclocking can significantly boost game performance and ... known to have betteroverclocking ability, so that they can benefit from greater system Overclocking is about running your computer faster than the standard speed; you can run all of the key components faster than their factory settings – CPU, VGA card, motherboard & memory. Overclocking can significantly boost game performance and even simple desktop tasks, meaning more performance from your system for no extra money. When building a PC, some people will deliberately choose components which are known to have better overclocking ability, so that they can benefit from greater system performance. Can it damage my system? Yes, but its unlikely. Generally speaking, when computer hardware is pushed beyond its limits, it will crash, lock up, or show other obvious erro long before it gets to the point where system components might be damaged. The exception to this is if extreme voltages are used when attempting to overclock. Key elements of basic overclocking When overclocking a computer, the processor, system memory and motherboard all have Download PDF
  • Writing Secure ASP Scripts
  • This paper briefly describes several common classes of coding error generally encountered when auditing web applications running on the Active Server Pages (ASP) platform. The paper is broken down into three broad sections, each of which addresses several common coding problems. The following is a list of the common errors that are discussed in this document, divided into three broad categories. The remainder of the document deals with each of these problems in turn. Any ASP code samples assume that the default language is VBScript, but all of the points apply equally to JavaScript. Equally, all occurrences of the SQL language assume that Microsoft SQL Server is being used as the back – end database. • Mobile Web 2.0: The new frontier
  • The main focus of this research is on the support and enhancement of face to face teaching and learning by using wireless mobile devices (WMDs or smartphones) as a means to leverage the potential of current and emerging collaborative and reflective e-learning tools (e.g. blogs, wikis, RSS, instant messaging, podcasting, social book marking, etc…). These are often called “social software” or web2.0 tools. The research project links the use of freely available mobile friendly web2.0 tools accessed via a smartphone with the learning objectives of a variety of different tertiary education courses. The smartphone’s wireless connectivity and data gathering abilities (e.g. photoblogging, video recording, voice recording, and text input) allow for bridging the on and off campus learning contexts – facilitating “real world learning”. The research is focusing on social constructivist approaches to education (Bijker et al., 1987; Lave & Wenger, 1991; Vygotsky, 1978; Wenger et al., 2002) and a conversational model (Laurillard, 2001, 2007) of teaching and learning. The disruptive nature of web2.0 and mobile technologies (Sharples, 2000, 2001, 2005; Stead, 2006) facilitates a move from instructivist pedagogies to social constructivist pedagogies. The personal, social networking, and context awareness of mobile devices democratise power relationships and are best suited to open learning environments. Disruptive technologies are those technologies that challenge established systems and thinking, requiring change and are thus viewed by many as a threat to the status quo. Disruptive technologies democratise institutional learning environments challenging the established power relations between teachers and students. Mishra et al (2007) argue that “appropriate
  • Villus Capillary - Your First Maya Scene from A-to-Z
  • The goal of this tutorial is to create an animation that takes you through some of the typical steps in a 3D pipeline: project set-up, modeling, surfacing, animation/dynamics, rendering. I have broken out the compositing/editing steps into a separate tutorial entitled “After Effects Compositing Basics.” Although this tutorial aims to cover many of the steps that went into creating the animation, certain starting materials have been prepared for you. Before we begin, if this is your first interaction with Maya, let’s spend a few minutes to practice basic viewport navigation and transforms! Create a primitive polygonal cube: Create -> Polygon Primitives -> Cube. Refer to the “Maya Keyboard Shortcuts” sheet (on the ‘Tutorials’ page) to move around the perspective viewport and move/scale/rotate the cube. • Using IrfanView to batch resize and rename your photos
  • IrfanView is a very fast, compact and innovative graphics viewing and editing program for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista. It is free for non-commercial use and is on the Approved Software List. IrfanView is simple for beginners and powerful for professionals. In the following tutorial we describe a procedure to resize and rename a number of files to be ready for uploading to Pixbird. If you just use an iPhone you don’t need this procedure. However, using more powerful cameras the file sizes will get quite large and therefore the upload time is extended. Since Pixbird does not keep large files und is going to resize your pictures anyway it is a good idea to resize the photos at your end and before uploading. Step 1 Open Irfanview and select the “File” button at the top of the screen. Next select the “Batch Conversion/Rename” option to open the Batch conversion window. 1. Select the folder with the images you want to prepare for Pixbird (be sure to keep the original images in a separate folder) 2. Select “Add all” 3. Click the “use this directory as output” button (if you prefer to select a different folder to write the reduced size images to, select the “Browse” button and do so). 4. Be sure the “Batch conversion – rename result files” setting is selected (if you like to keep the original file names select “Batch conversion” instead). 5. Name pattern: Select “Options” Step 2 The following window will open for batch conversion. At this point you will have six (6) settings to check. Download pdf Using
