  • Is e-Teaching Web Zero or Potentially Web 2.1?
  • The current pedagogical trend about involving students in their learning is naturally extended to student-centered learning in e-Learning systems. Likewise, instructional designs are developed to enable and motivate students at center stage to learn effectively and willingly. However, from our ten years of experience in promoting an e-Learning system called TIES in higher education, we have realized that an “e-Teaching” environment for teachers to teach effectively and happily needs to be founded as a prerequisite to successful e-Learning. We further argue that “e-Teaching” can be developed to be a central idea that is actually more important than e-Learning. The reasons are as follows: (1) teaching is more fun and active than learning, (2) teaching requires more creative and imaginative brain work than learning, (3) teaching creates more value than learning, and (4) the Web is growing as a global brain harnessing intellectual knowledge. A seemingly innocuous shift of the center of attention from students to teachers may transform e-Teaching as a current Web 0 status to even Web 2.1, if we may borrow a trendy word from a recent Web 2.0 hype. Increasingly, e-Leaning today is defined by terms like Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the context of ubiquitous IT network society. However, the bottom line of e-Learning is defined as training delivered on a PC/Internet to improve students' learning performance and their self-motivation and self-directedness. Instructional designs are also aimed at supporting students to learn effectively in an e-Learning environment. Thus, the architecture of e-Learning is clearly focused on students, and

  • The 1994-2000 F650Log.pdf
  • I took what I felt was all of the good information from the maintenance section of the BMW F650 service manual and put it in what was intended to be … This isn’t “John Muir Does the F650.” Anyone who doesn’t know what feeler gages are, much less how to use them or who doesn’t own an F650 service manual will find this document to be of little help. No one-page tutorial exists on how to maintain a motorcycle. This is a just maintenance log sheet. The intent was to make a fast and simple document to facilitate servicing your bike, making available the important numbers to preclude digging through manuals with dirty paws. After reviewing the factory manual and maintenance procedures, I felt that something was missing. What was missing was the easy-reference checklist that used to come with BMW motorcycles. Furthermore, the factory manual makes no reference whatsoever to lubricating the steering head, swing-arm or wheel bearings. Previous models performed this during the “inspection” and just checked these items during the “service.” The factory manual makes it difficult to find necessary specifications, like the spark plug number for instance. The factory manual doesn’t tell you some things which it should like the Download 1994-2000 BMW F650 Manual

  • Experience in integrating Java with C# and .NET
  • Java has been with us for seven years now and has made phenomenal inroads into the world of system, business, internet and educational programming. As demonstrated by presentations made at conferences such as JavaGrande, its influence extends also into scientific and high performance computing, specifically in parallel and distributed applications [11]. The reason for Java being used by these latter communities is that it has something to offer over and above the languages currently in use – chiefly Fortran, Visual Basic and C/C++. Specifically, object-oriented programming, increased security both within a program and between programs, parallelism facilities, applets and access to new resources through class libraries are cited as features which could be profitably used by scientific programmers [19]. The move towards Java in distributed computing has not been without its problems [17, 15], however, and it is to be expected that programmers will be loathe to embark upon another change of language so soon. Yet, the advent of Microsoft’s new language C# cannot go unnoticed, and the questions to be asked are: • What are the additional advantages of C# as a language over Java? • Can the new and interesting features of C# be incorporated into existing Java software? Like Java, C# is not just a programming language, but co-exists with a particular runtime enironment (like Java’s JVM), a means of communicating on the network (like Java’s RMI but unlike Java’s applets) and several independent technologies which are used by both languages (such as XML) The purpose of this paper is to present experience
  • SimpleTech Secure Digital (SD) Card/Adapter User Guide
  • This is an Installation and User Guide for the SimpleTech® SD Card and SD Card Adapter. The SimpleTech SD Card is a highly secure super small form-factor card used in several devices including Digital Cameras, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), MP3 music players, digital voice recorders, and other electronic devices such as cell phones, and pagers. The SD Card is a solid-state, nonvolatile removable and reusable mass storage which shows up as an ATA hard drive to the host. However, compared to ATA/IDE/ESDI hard drives with rotating discs, the Solid State SD Card is extremely rugged and very compact. The SD Card features high transfer rate for fast copy and download. The SD Card also features a Write Protect Switch on the casing to prevent accidental overwriting or erasure of the data. The SD Card complies with both current and future Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) portable device requirements. The SD Card Adapter allows the SD Card to plug into a PC Card socket. Therefore, the SD Card with the SD Card Adapter provides removable mass storage to thousands of hosts that have PC Card sockets, standard on many notebook computers. • Extracting A Background from an Image Using Photoshop CS2's Extraction Tool
  • This is tutorial #2 in the series for changing or removing backgrounds. This method uses the extraction tool available in Photoshop CS2 (I'm not sure if it's available in Photoshop CS, but it won't be available in any version prior to this). Unfortunately, unless other softwares contain this tool (I don't know of any that do), the tutorial will only be geared to those who own Photoshop CS2 upwards. This method removes the background from the image, rather than removing the image to a new background. To begin, open your photo and locate your extraction filter - it can be found under "filter" in the menu (Select "Filter", then Extract) and open it up. This filter will not work on 16-bit images, so if you've opened a raw file, you'll need to change the mode to 8-bit (select "image", then "mode", then select 8-bit). On the left are a series of tools - the first one is the "highlighter" for drawing around the areas you want to keep; the second is the paint bucket fill, next is an eraser, an eyedropper, two masking tools, and magnifying glass (for zooming in and out) and the hand tool (for moving your image around within the filter). On the right are some options you can set: tool options are the brush size, the highlight color and the fill color, as well as a box for "smart highlighting". Smart highlighting works best on high contrast images with sharp edges, but not so well on other types of images.

  • Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC Guide
  • What is Dawn of War based on? A: Dawn of War is based on Game Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe. Q: How many races are playable in Dawn of War? A: Four races are playable in Multiplayer and Skirmish - Space Marines, Chaos Marines, Eldar, and Orks. Q: Is there an IRC channel for Dawn of War? A: Yes. Our IRC server is “irc.hwcommunity.com” and the channel is “#dawnofwar” (without the quotes). Q: Why are other races from the Table Top game not in Dawn of War? Why are some units missing from the included races? A: This basically comes down to the amount of time, money, and resources Relic had to complete Dawn of War with. Also, some units would simply not work in the game environment. Q: What exactly is the “Army Painter”? A: The army painter is part of Dawn of War that allows you to paint various parts of your army units. You can also select badges and banners for your army from the Army Painter. Q: Is it possible to create custom badges and banners? A: Yes. Badges must be 64×64 pixels, 32 bit, and saved as .tga files. Banners must be 64×96 pixels, 32 bit, and saved as .tga files. These go into their respective folders within the Dawn of War directory. Q: Are you able to record games to watch at a later date? A: Yes, after each game you can save the replay, and they can be loaded from Skirmish>Load Game>Recorded Games. If you
