  • MiniViewTM: USB KVM switch, a revolutionary new KVM design from IOGEAR. Recognizing the importance of USB for small office & home office users, we’ve combined four downstream USB ports and a standard HDB-15 video port into a single KVM switch that fits right on your desktop. Now you can use the MiniViewTM: USB to share a monitor and four USB devices between two (G-CS102U) and four (GCS104U) computers. Connect a USB keyboard, USB mouse and two other USB devices – any USB devices. Scanners, Zip Drives, Printers and all other USB compliant devices will work with the MiniViewTM: USB. If four USB devices aren’t enough, connect a USB hub to one of the shared ports and expand your USB capacity. Because the MiniViewTM: USB is platform-independent, you can use it with Macs and PCs. Your only limitation is the software support for your USB peripherals. Rest assured, though, that if your peripherals will work with a Mac and a PC, they’ll work with the MiniViewTM: USB as well. We sincerely hope you enjoy using your new MiniViewTM: USB. If you have any questions or comments regarding this product, or any other IOGEAR products, please feel free to contact us. Full contact information is available on the Contacting IOGEAR page in this manual. Download MiniView USB G-CSIO2U G-CSIO4U Owners Manual pdf
  • Defeating the Stack Based Buffer Overflow Prevention Mechanism of Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
  • This paper presents several methods of bypassing the protection mechanism built into Microsoft’s Windows 2003 Server that attempts to prevent the exploitation of stack based buffer overflows. Recommendations about how to thwart these attacks are made where appropriate. Introduction Microsoft is committed to security. I’ve been playing with Microsoft products, as far as security is concerned, since 1997 and in the past year and a half or two I’ve seen a marked difference with some very positive moves made. In a way they had to. With the public relations crisis caused by worms such as Code Red Microsoft needed to do something to stem the flow of customers moving away from the Windows OS to other platforms. Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing push was born out of this and, in my opinion, I think we as consumers are beginning to see the results; or ironically not see them - as the holes are just not appearing as they would if the security push wasn’t there. We have, of course, seen at least one major security hole appear in Windows 2003 Server, this being the DCOM IRemoteActivation buffer overflow discovered by the Polish security research group, the Last Stages of Delirium [http://www.lsd-pl.net]. We will see more; but I am confident that the number of security vulnerabilities that will be discovered in Windows 2003 Server will be a fraction of those found in Windows 2000. Acknowledging that there have been holes found and that, yes, more will come to light in

  • A short time later a friend called to tell me he had a 1980 Honda CM400E with... Ryan and I had a wonderful time riding this summer, he on his CM400 and I ... I had my fit cycle ride in the summer of 1967 from a friend on a Bridgestone. I was going into 8th grade at the time, but that ride is all it took for me to get hooked on the feeling of riding the open road. I have been riding Honda since 1969 when I started with a 65cc Sport. All those yea riding cycles taught me the dange of the road and you can imagine the thoughts that went through my head when Ryan, my high school age son announced he wanted a motorcycle. Knowing he did not have the funds to buy one, I was able to stall him out for a while so he could mature. This past April Ryan called from college to let me know he wanted a cycle in the wot way this summer of 2006. I could hear. Download PDF
  • Tutorial public_html PDF
  • With an RCI account, you are also allotted a certain amount of web storage space which you can use, for example, to distribute material to a class. Before you can begin sharing files, though, you will need to set up a certain folder on your account, called public_html. public_html is the default name for directories on all Rutgers systems that will include files to be shared over the web, which can be loaded up in any web browser. The public states that the directory will be available to anyone via a web browser, and the html denotes the fact that web pages and other files will be contained there-in. We can set up this directory in one of two ways in either of the SSH Secure Shell programs. If you prefer to do it via a command-line interface, you can use the command-line terminal window. If you prefer to do it via a graphical user interface, you can do it via the Secure File Transfer Client. This tutorial will explain both; pick whichever one you feel suits you best. • MySQL and Perl, the marriage of convenience
  • MySQL and Perl have been around for quite a while. They are still widely used even if the "fashion" is changing. This article talks about these two products working together as a whole, either on the Internet or on your local network. The provided example is written for Unix systems, free or not, even if it can be adapted to other widespread "systems". What this article is : a small review of what can be done with this pair, showing ease of use, speed, reliability, security... What this article is not : neither a MySQL tutorial nor a Perl tutorial; neither a MySQL review nor a Perl review. Accordingly, we’ll see MySQL at work in combination with Perl, without forgetting that "there is more than one way to do it". What about this nice pair ? MySQL is a Relational DataBase Management System (RDBMS) available from http://www.mysql.com. It’s released under GNU GPL for free depending on what it is used for. Check the licensing policy on the MySQL’s website. It works either as a server or a client on many platforms. A few other RDBMS exist as free software and we won’t make any comparisons since the choice of MySQL for this article is arbitrary. Neither will we compare to the big "commercial" guns such as Informix, Oracle, Sybase... It is enough to say that MySQL is probably one of the most widely used DBM on the Internet. For this article we’ll use the version 3.23.36 (again, arbitrarily). At the time of this writing, the
