Illustrated Roadmap for Macintosh GQMac WebThis Illustrated Roadmap was designed to help the Computer Coordinator customize GradeQuick for their school and for teachers to make further customizations that will affect only their files. The Illustrated Roadmap will also assist teachers through various GradeQuick features and will serve as an easy reference to guide teachers through the school year using GradeQuick.
Customizing Your Gradebook
Successful use of GradeQuick begins with setting GradeQuick features to correspond with your school/district policies or your personal user preferences. Technology coordinators can set global settings for all teachers to use and then allow teachers to further establish their own settings. All features can be set globally by the GradeQuick administrator and then further customized by the individual teachers or the feature can be restricted with the Jackson Software supplemental program called SiteManager. More information on global settings can be found in the Site License notebook.
Please consider setting the following GradeQuick features prior to entering grades in GradeQuick. Keep in mind that as a teacher your technology coordinator/GradeQuick administrator may have already set some of these settings for your use.

DownloadTowards C# program verification: C#-kernel and its axiomatic semanticsVerification of programs presented in widely-used object-oriented programming languages, such as C++, C#, Java, is a subject of much current interest. The well-known approach to program verification is based on Hoare-like axiomatic semantics. Difficulties of developing compact and transparent axiomatic semantics of object-oriented programming languages are connected with such constructs as overloading, dynamic binding of methods, exception handling, static initialization of classes. Axiomatic semantics has been proposed for different sequential subsets of Java in [3, 4, 7–10]. While compact and transparent axiomatic semantics has been developed for separate difficult Java constructs, it turned out to be cumbersome and inconvenient for the practical use in the case of a wide sequential Java subset.
In this paper we consider a wide sequential C# subset called C#-light. C#-light programs include all sequential C# constructs except for attributes, destructors, using statements, checked and unchecked constructs and unsafe code constructs. To simplify C#-light program verification, C#-light is translated into an intermediate language C#-kernel, for which a Hoare-like axiomatic semantics is proposed. Unlike standard axiomatic semantics, our forward rules can generate lazy verification conditions which include functional symbols denoting postponed extractions of invariants of labelled statements as well as postponed invocations of methods and delegates. These functional symbols are eliminated by refinement algorithms.

Unfortunately, many of these technologies have been out of reach for many client application developers because of the non-trivial learning curve involved. In addition, with the number of RIA technologies available, where do you even begin? In many cases, there was not a “one size fits all” solution, so RIA development would involve a mix of HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash, and perhaps a little AJAX thrown in (just to name a few possibilities).
Luckily, Microsoft has entered the world of RIA frameworks, and with the introduction of Microsoft Silverlight 2, offers a platform, which leverages existing .NET developers’ talents. With version 3.0 in the works, providing enhanced graphics support, data binding, and perhaps best of all, out-of-browser support, the Silverlight platform is certainly worth a look for new, and even existing, RIA development.
Silverlight includes many of the same base services and types included in the .NET Framework. However, because it is a runtime built specifically for the web, where developers expect a robust platform in a small package, much of the functionality included in its desktop cousin is absent. For example, the image type in Silverlight, System.Windows.Media.Imaging.BitmapImage, only supports JPEG and PNG image file types, and does not include support for grayscale. This is where third-party tools vendors become part of the Silverlight ecosystem, providing extensions to the base platform as the market demands. Interpreting the Indicator LEDs
The client adapter shows messages and error conditions through its two LEDs:
• Link Integrity/Power LED (green)—This LED lights when the client adapter is receiving power and blinks slowly when the adapter is linked with the network.
• Link Activity LED (amber)—This LED blinks quickly when the client adapter is receiving or transmitting data and blinks in a repeating pattern to indicate an error condition.

When running a typical web server, you need a firewall that is secure and offers protection, but you also need one that allows all needed traffic to be able to enter and leave the server so that your server's day to day operations can carry on unimpeded.
