Processor Utilization with Microsoft ® Windows ® Media Center Edition on Systems EnabledThis document is intended for OEMs and system builders building systems utilizing the Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center Edition (MCE) operating system.
The P-state transitions (Cool?n’Quiet and AMD PowerNow! technologies) allow a computer to dynamically switch between different processor performance states depending on the processor utilization. In mobile applications these transitions can help extend battery life while delivering maximum processor performance on demand. In desktop applications they can reduce heat dissipation of the processor, resulting in less use of the fan and less noise.
The document Microsoft Windows XP MCE 2005 Hardware Requirements (available from Microsoft) helps specify maximum processor utilization for various user scenarios. OEMs and system builders are required to measure processor utilization for Windows XP MCE system compliance. OEMs and system builders must meet these requirements in order to receive the Windows XP MCE logo and to market their products as Windows XP MCE computers.

One of the most important features that made this experiment possible was the cooling system, which didnt use Liquid Nitrogen as one might expect (coidering that is the usual substance for such extreme cooling tasks). The Japanese used a gas cooling solution and a big part of the equation was the huge heatsink and all the big fa around the processor. According to information posted by The Inquirer and tralated directly from the Japanese source, the processor at stake is a basic model 631, which usually ru quietly at 3 GHz, but now was overclocked to 5 GHz

Complete the activities in order to answer the central question of this lesson: “How does understanding the chemistry of hair care, including the role of pH, help in the development of better hair care products?”
Part I: Determining the pH of shampoo samples
Using the shampoo samples given to you by your teacher, determine the pH of each of the samples. You can determine pH by using a method familiar to you, such as using pH strips or probes. Record the pH of your shampoo samples below:
Shampoo name pHPart II: Treating hair samples in solutions of varying pH Complete the following activity in your lab group and answer the questions that follow.
Procedure:
1. Obtain 4 wooden splints; 4 test dishes; 20 strands of the same type of hair; and 4 strips of tape.
2. Clean the 4 dishes in pH neutral solution and rinse thoroughly with distilled water. (Be sure to clean all glassware after each use so that the samples are not contaminated.)
3. Label the test dishes pH 2.0, pH 6.0, pH 10.0, and pH 12.0. Add 10 mL of the appropriate pH solution to each of the dishes.
4. Tape 5 strands of hair to each splint with one end fastened, and the other end free to be immersed in the test solutions. Label the ends of each splint with pH 2.0, pH 6.0, pH 10.0, and pH 12.0.
5. Put each splint into the corresponding solution.
