This guide was designed to only cover the basic operations in setting up RAID. Should this document not cover what you need, please refer to the FastTrak 378 Quick Start Guide provided on the motherboard’s Support CD. 1.2 The Basics 1.2.1 What is RAID? A RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) controller lets you combine multiple hard disks to simulate a single drive. The drive created will properties different to that of the individual drives. 1.2.2 Advantages of RAID The obvious advantage of using a RAID configuration is the ability to create drives with larger capacity. However, since multiple drives are used,
  • VDO Gauges / VW Vehicles Gauge Solution Installation Instruction Manual
  • Jetta IV, Golf IV Triple Gauge Panel Installation Instructions Tools Recommended: Radio Removal Keys 1. Prior to installing gauge panel, have all wires and tubing run to gauges and tested. It is recommended that all wires be left long to free workspace behind the panel. 2. Remove radio using radio removal keys. Snap keys in. Pull up and out. With radio hanging out, cover climate controls with a soft cloth to avoid scratches. Push in tabs on side of radio to remove keys. 3. Remove storage bin by pulling straight out. 4. Install center gauge into panel using standard U brackets included with most aftermarket gauges. If your 2 1/16 gauges did not come with mounting brackets, fabricate some, or order the standard brackets. Tighten center gauge tight by hand. Over tightening gauge will cause panel to bend. 5. The outer mounting brackets must be modified to install the triple gauge panel. There are two ways to modify the brackets to secure the panel. As illustrated to the right, you can simply use the outer leg of the mounting bracket to secure the gauge panel in place. To do this, you will need to cut the outer leg 1/8” shorter than the inner leg, and bend outward to extend beyond the side of the gauge panel. When installing, you will need at least ¼” of slack between the mounting bracket legs and the appropriate ribs along the inside of the center console. If need be, cut the bottom of the legs proportionally to allow enough slack. Similar
  • Understanding Microsoft's Web Technologies
  • In the beginning, the World Wide Web (WWW) was flat. It was an electronic library where academics and scientists posted dissertations and dusty data for reading with clunky, text-only browsers. With the advent of graphical browsers, the consumer oriented Web took off. Content became vastly more colorful. Remember where you were the first time you experienced the exciting blink and marquee tags? (I bet you wish you could forget those gems!) Anyway, the Web has evolved as a rich, interactive, and personalized medium. In the new version of Web (Web 2.0), functional pages aren’t enough. User experience (abbreviated as UX in geekspeak) is hot, and sites are cool. This chapter looks at Microsoft’s tools and technologies for creating and delivering engaging Web content. Microsoft has a range of tools for authoring Web pages that appeal to several skill levels. Some tools are more suited to Web page design, while others are more appropriate to programming. Microsoft Office (Including Word 2007) When Bill Gates realized that Microsoft was lagging on the Internet front, the word went out to integrate Web support into every product. As a result, you can save Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint slides as Web pages. Many companies use the Office suite to place information on their intranet because most employees are comfortable in Word and Excel. These tools are quite adequate for creating static Web content that some call brochure ware. Although somewhat bloated, the pages are faithful reproductions of the original document — especially when viewed in Microsoft’s latest Internet Explorer
  • Basic Walk-Cycle Tutorial Maya
  • This tutorial is intended to teach new animation students a few basic animation techniques and workflow based on fundamental animation principles using Maya and a free character setup named walkingBall_v2.3 created by the author. This character setup or “rig” has many useful features without being overwhelming to newer students. This tutorial assumes you have a basic understanding of how to navigate the Maya interface, find menu commands, and other basic computer file management skills. Powerful 3D applications such as Maya require a predefined location to save data and files while you are working. Large studio animation production lines typically create custom software for managing project file structures, to control naming conventions, and to track revisions. Absent such large studio resources we will use the method of organizing files and data that the developers of Maya created called a “Project”. The beauty of this is that you can have multiple projects simultaneously, each with its own set of resources This tutorial also assumes you are somewhat new to 3D software and animation concepts. We will be using a basic pose-to-pose approach of animation. Pose-to-pose animation is what its name implies, creating character movement by establishing primary positions, or poses, and methodically moving the character from one pose to the next. Different, but just as valid methods such as straight-ahead or layered animation are not described in this tutorial. Download pdf Basic Walk-Cycle Tutorial Maya

  • MagSafe Airline Adapter Manual pdf
  • The MagSafe Airline Adapter works with all Apple portable computers that have the MagSafe power adapter port. Plug the MagSafe Airline Adapter into the EmPower port nearest your airline seat. Connect the other end to your computer’s MagSafe port. Using the MagSafe Airline Adapter provides power for your computer but does not charge the battery. Safety Unplug the MagSafe Airline Adapter before leaving your seat, to avoid tripping over the cable. Be careful not to spill liquid on the MagSafe Airline Adapter. For general safety and regulatory information, see the user’s guide that came with your computer. Other Power Sources On airlines that have 20 mm power ports, use the 20 mm adapter (included in the kit) with the MagSafe Airline Adapter. EmPower port 20 mm port To attach the 20 mm adapter to the MagSafe Airline Adapter, align the airplane logos and slide the adapters together. Then insert the 20 mm adapter into a 20 mm port. When you unplug the MagSafe Airline Adapter from a 20 mm port, remove it by pulling on the 20 mm adapter, not the MagSafe cable. WARNING: Never plug the MagSafe Airline Adapter, with or without the 20 mm adapter or third-party adapter, into an automobile’s cigarette lighter or auxiliary power socket. Using the MagSafe Airline Adapter in a car won’t provide power to the computer or charge the battery. Download MagSafe Airline Adapter Manual pdf
  • Using molecular graphics software to create geometry
  • Several PDB viewers, including Chimera and Pymol, are able to export molecular representations as VRML files. VRML files can then be converted to a file type that can be imported directly into the 3D application of your choice. By default, Maya is able to open/import .obj, .fbx, .mel, .ma and .mb files (among others). Plugins can be installed to import a number of other 3d file types, but as of yet there is no direct way to import VRML files into Maya. First, we’ll explore the functionality of Chimera and export VRML files of the reovirus attachment protein sigma1, then we’ll use the ‘multiscale model’ option in Chimera to export the reovirus core as VRML. We will then use PyMOL to create a cartoon protein representation and export it to VRML. Using Chimera to Export VRML Surfaces & Ribbons: Open PDB ID ‘1KKE’ using Chimera’s ‘Fetch by ID’ command under the File menu. To download any PDB directly, you can go to http://www.rcsb.org. Chimera can also be downloaded for free from the UCSF Chimera website (http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/). By default, the molecule is seen as a wire model. You can tumble the model using the left mouse button (LMB). The right mouse button (RMB) allows use to zoom in, and the middle mouse button (MMB) pans. • Creating Your First C# Windows Program pdf
  • For historical reasons, machine language is also known as assembly language. In the old days, each manufacturer provided a program called an assembler that would convert special words into individual machine instructions. Thus, you might write something really cryptic like MOV AX,CX. (That’s an actual Intel processor instruction, by the way.) The assembler would convert that instruction into a pattern of bits corresponding to a single machine instruction. Humans and computers have decided to meet somewhere in the middle. Programmers create their programs in a language that is not nearly as free as human speech but a lot more flexible and easy to use than machine language. The languages that occupy this middle ground — C#, for example — are called high-level computer languages. (High is a relative term here.) What is a program? In one sense, a Windows program is an executable file that you can run by double-clicking its icon. For example, the version of Microsoft Word that I’m using to write this book is a program. You call that an executable program, or executable for short. The names of executable program files gener- ally end with the extension .exe. But a program is something else, as well. An executable program consists of one or more source files. A C# program file is a text file that contains a sequence of C# commands, which fit together according to the laws of C# grammar. This file is known as a source file, probably because it’s a source of frustration and
