  • The SAP Lock Concept (BC-CST-EQ) Tutorial
  • The SAP System is equipped with a special lock mechanism that synchronizes access to data on the database. The purpose of the lock mechanism is to prevent two transactions from changing the same data on the database simultaneously. Implementation Considerations Locks are defined generically as “lock objects” in the Data Dictionary. A lock request is a specific instance of a lock object and locks a certain database object, such as a correction or a table entry. Lock entries are usually set and deleted automatically when user programs access a data object and release it again. Integration The SAP lock mechanism is closely related to the update mechanism in R/3 [Extern]. A description of handling lock objects is provided in the ABAP Dictionary Documentation under Lock Objects [Extern]. The ABAP documentation explains the key elements of the lock concept with regard to programming ABAP transactions in the section entitled The R/3 Lock Concept Download The SAP Lock Concept (BC-CST-EQ) Tutorial

  • MagSafe Airline Adapter Manual pdf
  • The MagSafe Airline Adapter works with all Apple portable computers that have the MagSafe power adapter port. Plug the MagSafe Airline Adapter into the EmPower port nearest your airline seat. Connect the other end to your computer’s MagSafe port. Using the MagSafe Airline Adapter provides power for your computer but does not charge the battery. Safety Unplug the MagSafe Airline Adapter before leaving your seat, to avoid tripping over the cable. Be careful not to spill liquid on the MagSafe Airline Adapter. For general safety and regulatory information, see the user’s guide that came with your computer. Other Power Sources On airlines that have 20 mm power ports, use the 20 mm adapter (included in the kit) with the MagSafe Airline Adapter. EmPower port 20 mm port To attach the 20 mm adapter to the MagSafe Airline Adapter, align the airplane logos and slide the adapters together. Then insert the 20 mm adapter into a 20 mm port. When you unplug the MagSafe Airline Adapter from a 20 mm port, remove it by pulling on the 20 mm adapter, not the MagSafe cable. WARNING: Never plug the MagSafe Airline Adapter, with or without the 20 mm adapter or third-party adapter, into an automobile’s cigarette lighter or auxiliary power socket. Using the MagSafe Airline Adapter in a car won’t provide power to the computer or charge the battery. Download MagSafe Airline Adapter Manual pdf
  • Apple Remote Access modem script basics
  • A modem script is a set of instructions that tells a computer how to interact with a modem so that calls can be initiated and received. To establish a connection, a script typically configures and then connects the modem. To terminate a connection, the script disconnects the modem by hanging up and then restores the modem settings that were in effect before the call. Each type of modem used with Apple Remote Access requires a modem script. Many scripts are provided with Apple Remote Access (see “Available Modem Scripts” in the Preface of this book for more information). If no script is provided for your modem, you must write one using Communication Command Language (CCL), a programming language that configures and controls your modem. This chapter describes the basic elements and structure of a CCL file. The following sections describe CCL script conventions for m instructions m comments m capitalization m labels m script resources m string formats m variable strings (varStrings) m match strings m script size Instructions Each line of CCL code consists of one instruction that is made up of a command and its parameters, if any. Modem commands are used as parameters of CCL commands. For example, the command write "ATDT^113" includes the following: write a CCL command ATDT a modem command ^113 a modem command parameter This command tells the CCL interpreter to send to the modem the modem command ATDT followed by variable string 1, and a carriage return (ASCII code 13). The CCL interpreter reads scripts from left to right and from top to bottom. It reads straight through, from beginning to end, unless you

Although this statement may seem a little too much at fit, if you look at the launch of the 7 and 8 Geforce series you will notice that performance has almost doubled from one generation to another. And that comes in handy especially if you want to play the latest games since these ones can be very hardware inteive. After the arrival of the 8800 GTX series, everyone waited for Nvidia to roll out a card capable of surpassing Ati/AMDs R600 on every level. The 8800 Ultra was supposed to have GDDR4 chips and a very fast GPU. However when it did come out, the Ultra only came as a tweaked veion of the GTX clocked some 10-15% higher Download PDf
  • Defeating Compiler-level Buffer Overflow Protection
  • BUFFER OVERFLOW ATTACK SARE THE most popular method intruders use to gain remote and privileged access to computer systems. Programs that fail to use appropriate bounds checking can allow an attacker to write data beyond the intended boundaries of a buffer and thus possibly corrupt control structures in the program. This enables an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the same privilege as the victim process. An attacker’s preference is usually to overwrite the saved instruction pointer that is pushed onto the stack before a function call or to overwrite a function pointer that will be used later in the program. It is also possible to use these attacks simply to overwrite other data. This kind of attack is harder to prevent but, fortunately, is less common than the previous type and is not discussed here. Buffer overflows first gained attention with the release of the famed Morris worm which exploited a buffer overflow in fingerd [1]. Despite the attack used in the Morris worm, buffer overflows did not become popular until the release of two papers that detailed the discovery and exploitation of these vulnerabilities [2,3]. This paper discusses vulnerabilities in two compiler-level protection mechanisms, StackGuard and Point-Guard. While this paper takes a critical look at both of these solutions, it does not intend to make them seem insignificant. The attacks described in this paper help to show how StackGuard and PointGuard should be complemented to construct a more complete protection system. • Performance of a Link Control Protocol for Local Wireless Multimedia Communications
  • First generation wireless systems, which primarily provide analog voice service, are widely in use worldwide. Second generation systems support digital voice/data traffic; some of these systems are already deployed or undergoing deployment. Third generation wireless networks will ultimately carry multimedia traffic that are characterized by combination of different informaion streams of diverse nature (e.g., voice, video, image, data). Some of the salient features of multimedia applications are high speed and changing bit rates (periodic and bursty arrivals), several virtual connections over the same access, synchronization of different information streams, and various service/deliveIy requirements (QoS). It is clear that next generation wireless networks will be required to interface with much higher bandwidth fiber-based wired networks, possibly carrying B-ISDN/ATM type traffic, which poses interesting management and control issues like admission control, resource sharing and link contol. The objective is to provide *A. Roy is presently with Lucent Technologies India Ltd., Bangalore, India. “seamless wireless communication” to users, irrespective of channel impairments. Multimedia applications have varying bandwidth requirements. A media access control (MAC) protocol capable of assigning :multiple slots, based on demand and QoS requirements, is thus a natural choice. It is also desired that the protocol supports statistical multiplexing to improve channel utilizalion exploiting bursty nature of the traffic. In this paper, we propose a link control protocol which is a combination of a suitable MAC protocol and a priority based link management and control functionality to support multimedia streams over wireless. A reservation type access protocol capable of assigning multiple slots upon request
