  • The Web 2.0 Driven SECI Model Based Learning Process
  • Nonaka and his knowledge transformation model SECI revolutionized the thinking about organizations as social learning systems. He introduced technical concepts like hypertext into organizational theory. Now, after 15 years Web 2.0 concepts seem to be an ideal fit with Nonaka’s SECI approach opening new doors for more personal, dynamic, and social learning on a global scale. In this paper, we present an extended view of blended learning which includes the combination of formal and informal learning, knowledge management, and Web 2.0 concepts into one integrated solution, by discussing what we call the Web 2.0 driven SECI model based learning process. Peter Drucker, among others, argues that in the emerging economy, knowledge is the primary resource for individuals and for the economy overall; land, labor, and capital. He further argues that improving front-line worker productivity is the greatest challenge of the 21st century [1]. Realizing that knowledge and competence have become increasingly critical to their continued success, organizations worldwide are spending upwards of $ 2.2 trillion dollars on training and education measures, which have become integral to any organization for it to remain competitive [2]. Over the last decade, it has been widely argued that e-Learning could respond to accelerating global competition, increase the quality of learning experiences, remove situational barriers, be more cost effective, and transform the way we learn. However, despite isolated achievements, the success record was on the whole not very encouraging and e-Learning did not succeed to revolutionize our education and learning processes [3][4]. The most influential knowledge management

  • Cisco Aironet Wireless LAN Client Adapters Installation and Configuration Guide for Mac OS
  • When you use your client adapter with the Mac OS operating system, you can protect your data as it is transmitted through your wireless network by encrypting it through the use of Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption keys. With WEP encryption, the transmitting device encrypts each packet with a WEP key, and the receiving device uses that same key to decrypt each packet. The WEP keys used to encrypt and decrypt transmitted data can be statically associated with your adapter or dynamically created as part of the LEAP authentication process. The information in the sections below can help you to decide which type of WEP keys you want to use. Dynamic WEP keys with LEAP offer a higher degree of security than static WEP keys. WEP keys, whether static or dynamic, are either 40 or 128 bits in length. The 128-bit WEP keys contain more characters than the 40-bit keys and, therefore, offer a greater level of security. Message integrity check (MIC) is a security protection feature supported by your client adapter in conjunction with an access point (see the “MIC” section on page 5-4). Each device (or profile) within your wireless network can be assigned up to four static WEP keys. If a device receives a packet that is not encrypted with the appropriate key (as the WEP keys must match in all devices that are to communicate with each other), the device discards the packet. For the Mac OS X, the Static WEP keys are stored in an encrypted format (for security

  • Your First Cup of Web 2.0 - A Quick Look at jQuery, Spring MVC, and XStream/Jettison
  • That's the first thing that popped into my head after learning about jQuery earlier this year. jQuery is a powerful yet unobtrusive JavaScript library with a lousy name. It's concise, very readable syntax has me exciting about writing JavaScript again. It's unobtrusiveness makes it easy to add rich behavior—such as background form submissions—to web applications with very little modification of existing code. Being unobtrusive is particularly important when you are working with a large code base, or where extensive refactoring just isn't going to get funding. My boss is not going to give me 4 weeks to go back and add some visual goodness to an existing site. But I might get 4 hours, and that's where jQuery can help. As a simple example, imagine an automobile search function that returns results based on a vehicle Model. Enter text into the field, click submit, and the results are displayed. The JSP might look like: After the user enters a name and clicks submit, the entire screen turns white while the page refreshes and then the results are displayed. This is not a good user experience. Now, let's use jQuery to improve that experience by refreshing only the part of the page that actually needs to change. The modifications made to the existing page are: 1. Split the search form and search results into 2 separate JSPs so the results can be displayed separately, without having to re-render the search form. 2. Add a placeholder DIV on the search form JSP to hold the search
  • Holden Astra Convertible and SRi Hatch 2.2 Litre Manual
  • Good handling and brakes Lively performance Equipment levels (SRi hatch) Better rear passenger and load space than Convertible (Convertible) Stylish appearance Hood quality and operation WORST (Both) Notchy manual gearchange (SRi hatch) Rear spoiler causes a vision blind spot (Convertible) Blind spots to rear corners with hood erect Restricted luggage space central locking with an immobiliser. There’s a Blaupunkt stereo system with a single CD player and remote controls on the leatherwrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel. The SRi shares much of the Convertible’s equipment but misses out on its side airbags, its electronic stability program (ESP), its full leather trim, its heated front seats and its trip computer. BODY AND FINISH: The Astra convertible is built by design specialists Bertone in Italy, and their work is impressive both from the car’s good looks and the quality of the conversion. The power-operated soft-top has triple fabric layers for better heat and sound insulation, and has a scratch-resistant (and heated) glass rear window. There is also a detachable windbreak screen that clips in behind the front seats. The soft-top can be raised or lowered from outside the car via the remote key, or by a button on the console. I’ve driven the Convertible during inclement weather and the hood proved to be both weathertight and free of undue wind noises. The Convertible’s body also impresses as being much stiffer than some other convertibles, with a pleasing absence of scuttle shake over rough surfaces. Compared to the standard Astra hatchbacks, the SRi version gets
