  • Screw Thread for Metal Screws Using 3DS Max
  • 1. Create a ‘Helix’ spline object from the create panel. Make sure there are plenty of turns in it and that both radii are the same. 2. Add an extrude modifier and adjust the amount so it just about reaches the next coil, get it as close as possible but don’t spend ages doing it as step 4 will sort it out. 3. As you will notice the tube is inside out so add a 'Normals' modifier to flip them and turn it the right way. 4. Now as there is still a gap in-between the coils add a 'Vertex Weld' modifier and increase the value just enough to weld the gap together. 5. Now, add an 'Edit Poly' modifier and go into 'Edge' sub-object mode, then select one edge travelling the length of the tube and hit 'Ring' (Alt+R) to select the entire helix. 6. Click the small grey box next to 'Connect' in the modify panel and give the selection 1 edge segment. You will now have two spirals travelling the length of the tube. (I forgot to do an image of this stage :) 7. Select one edge of one spiral and click 'Loop' (Alt+L) in the modify panel to select the entire spiral. Then click the 'Scale' tool (R) and drag the web connecting the two width axes for the tube (shown in yellow in the image below), this will create your thread depth. The commands documented in this reference are not generally available to subscribers who do not own the list affected by the command being used. This reference assumes familiarity with the ListProcessor User Manual and does not replicate that document’s explanation of ListProc’s subscriber commands. This Owner’s manual is one of four documents of which list owners should be aware. All are available via anonymous ftp and Gopher from info.cren.net in the /listproc directory. • Updating PHP on Mac OS X Server 10.4.x
  • The purpose of this document is to provide instructions on how to update the version of PHP included with OS X 10.4.x Tiger Server. DO NOT USE this document to update PHP on 10.5.x Leopard Server. An separate tutorial is available. It will guide you through updating to the latest version of PHP4 without breaking Server Admin functionality. Furthermore you will be shown how to update to the latest version of PHP5, while retaining most of Server Admin's functionality. Although the Apple included version of PHP4 is suitable for most users, there are situations where one might need to update. A common reason is to include support for the GD2 libraries. This document will require you to use the command line. If you do not feel comfortable with using the command line, you should look for a ready made installer package. Why should I use the command line if there are ready made installer packages available? Short answer: Greater flexibility. Long answer: The packages available, reflect the creators' views on what should or shouldn't be included in the package. By understanding how to install things yourself, you can choose what to include in your PHP build. This document is written for Mac OS X 10.4.x. However, it should apply to 10.3.x as well. Be aware though that I have not done any particular testing of this procedure on 10.3.x. DISCLAIMER: Whatever you do based on this document, you do it at your own risk! Just in case you haven't understood: Whatever you do

MULTI-VISION consists of the goggles and a power unit with power supply; a cable connects both parts. The set also includes a main adapter with charger. MULTI-VISION comes in a handy transport case and with a belt pouch. The plastic casing contains the following elements: (1) Plug connection for cable (2) Push button for power (illuminated) (3) Removable Ni-MH rechargeable battery (4) Connector for power supply (under the battery) (5) Knob with triple function: for manual adjustment of contrast, for electronic zoom or phase, depending upon the mode (see further). • Villus Capillary - Your First Maya Scene from A-to-Z
  • The goal of this tutorial is to create an animation that takes you through some of the typical steps in a 3D pipeline: project set-up, modeling, surfacing, animation/dynamics, rendering. I have broken out the compositing/editing steps into a separate tutorial entitled “After Effects Compositing Basics.” Although this tutorial aims to cover many of the steps that went into creating the animation, certain starting materials have been prepared for you. Before we begin, if this is your first interaction with Maya, let’s spend a few minutes to practice basic viewport navigation and transforms! Create a primitive polygonal cube: Create -> Polygon Primitives -> Cube. Refer to the “Maya Keyboard Shortcuts” sheet (on the ‘Tutorials’ page) to move around the perspective viewport and move/scale/rotate the cube.
