  • Buying Tires Guide: How to Get the Right Tire for You
  • Due to the large number of factors involved (such as speed, road conditions, inflation, vehicle maintenance, your driving habits, temperature), it is impossible to predict a firm figure for expected tread life. Tires should be inspected regularly and replaced when the tire is worn down. 1. Checking for Wear Tires are worn out when there is just 1.6-mm (2/32-inch) tread depth remaining. This can be measured with an inexpensive tread depth gauge, available at most auto supply stores. In the absence of a gauge, here are two quick methods to check to see if your tires are worn down to the point of replacement. A. The Tire Wear Bars Tires are manufactured with “wear bars” (see Figure 1) that indicate when there is less than 1.6 mm (2/32 inch) of tread depth remaining. When the tread is worn down to the point that the wear bars are flush with the tread, the tire must be replaced. Figure 1: Tire Wear Bars Exposed Wear Bars (replace the tire) B. The Penny Test The Rubber Association of Canada suggests this simple test to measure the tread depth on your tires. Place a penny into a tread groove with the Queen’s head down and facing you. If you can see the tips of the crown, it’s time for a new tire. Figure 2: The Penny Test Crown Fully Exposed (replace the tire) The Autosmart Fact Series 2. • Multi-Vision User Manual
  • The MULTI-VISION is an opto-electronic night-vision device of the newest generation. MULTI-VISION enables you to see in poor visibility and in the dark. It allows you to move around safely. MULTI-VISION has a built-in electronic zoom. This provides a magnification of the image of the observed object, bringing it virtually closer. The effect is similar as with binoculars. MULTI-VISION can also be connected to external devices, such as video/television sets, DVD players and computers, so that you can view the images inside the goggles. MULTI-VISION consists of the goggles and a power unit with power supply; a cable connects both parts. The set also includes a main adapter with charger. MULTI-VISION comes in a handy transport case and with a belt pouch. The plastic casing contains the following elements: (1) Plug connection for cable (2) Push button for power (illuminated) (3) Removable Ni-MH rechargeable battery (4) Connector for power supply (under the battery) (5) Knob with triple function: for manual adjustment of contrast, for electronic zoom or phase, depending upon the mode (see further). (6) Knob for manual adjustment of brightness. Download pdf Multi-Vision User Manual

  • PaintFx - Plasma Membrane Animation Techniques
  • This tutorial will take you through the process of creating an animated plasma membrane using Maya's unique Paint Effects module. Much of the tutorial will be focused on how to create a custom brush starting with the Paint Effects base brushes that ship with Maya. Paint Effects are ideal for situations in which a very large number of objects need to be seen from a distance (in this particular situation, the number of lipids on the surface of the membrane). Lets start by designing the brush. Creating a Base Stroke Designing a custom Paint Effects brush requires the adjustment of a myriad sliders and attributes. The process is not terribly straight-forward. The best way to learn is get an idea of how the paint effects controls work and then experiment. As you gain experience you'll find yourself becoming more comfortable with creating brushes. However, no matter how much experience you have, working with Paint Effects will almost always come down to trial and error with all of the various settings. This section of the tutorial is a walk-through of a typical custom brush design exercise. I will explain the controls that I use and what I hope to achieve when adjusting their settings. There are many ways to create a particular effect using a brush, the methods I describe are just a few. 1. Create a new Maya scene, this scene will be the devoted to designing the brush, once you have something satisfactory, you can export the brush from here to any

Unlike previous issues, the March 2007 DoubleClick is published using Quark XPress 7. This issue was created with help from an OWC Mercury Extreme 1.4 GHz G4 Power Macintosh AGP Graphics tower, (with our thanks to OWC), and a 1 GHz G4 iBook. A Kodak DX7590 is used for all pictures. Everything not specifically attributed to someone else can be blamed on me. Back issues can be downloaded from the website. Submissions from MaUsE Club members are almost always welcome. Send articles to < mause.doubleclick@gmail.com >, especially if there are files or pictures attached. I have never refused a submission yet. There is always room for an- other piece on ANY Mac-related topic and I’ll make room if there isn’t. I would like your submissions. But I won’t beg. • Contacts Data API Developer's Guide: Python
  • The Contacts Data API allows client applications to view and update a user's contacts. Contacts are stored in the user's Google Account; most Google services have access to the contact list. Your client application can use the Contacts Data API to create new contacts, edit or delete existing contacts, and query for contacts that match particular criteria. In addition to providing some background on the capabilities of the Contacts Data API, this document provides examples of how to interact with contacts using the Python client library. If you're interested in understanding more about the underlying protocol that the library uses, see the Protocol section of this developer's guide. This document is intended for programmers who want to write Python client applications that can interact with Google's contact lists. This document assumes that you understand the general ideas behind the Google Data APIs protocol. For reference information about the classes and methods provided by the client library, see the pydocs for the Contacts modules. For general Contacts Data API reference information, see the Protocol reference guide. Download pdf Contacts Data API Developer's Guide: Python

  • Test Workbench in the SAP System (BC-CAT-PLN) Tutorial
  • Use Intensive test phases, with function and acceptance tests in all phases, are essential to the success of an R/3 project. This starts with the first implementation of an SAP System and continues through all modifications of the system to customer requirements by customizing, modification and customer developments. SAP provides the Test Workbench to support customers in this area. From the test planning stage onwards, the Test Organizer in the Test Workbench provides a tool to create a structure of the applications to be tested. Individual test cases can be created when planning is complete. Use the Computer Aided Test Tool [Ext.] (CATT) in the Test Workbench. Test cases can be descriptions for manual tests, or test case scripts which are to be performed automatically. The test cases created can be put in the outline structure created during planning, in the Test Organizer. This provides a constant overview of the progress of test case creation.
