FlowPATH Tool-pathing TutorialThis tutorial outlines the process of preparing a 2D digital file for tool-pathing with FlowPATH for use with the school’s abrasive water-jet cutter. The water-jet is only capable of 2D cutting operations, and has extremely limited control of the depth of the cut so work should be designed with 2D lines and with the intention that the lines will be cut completely through the material – not etched. Depending on the hardness of the material it is possible to etch or score a cut instead of cutting all the way through, but this should only be done with ductile materials as it will cause shattering or breaking in more brittle materials.
2D File Creation
1) The FlowPATH software will only accept 2D geometry, and it works best with lines and arcs, splines may cause some problems. The lines can be made in any 2D application capable of exporting DXF files; possible applications are Maya, 3dMax, Rhino, AutoCAD, Illustrator and VectorWorks. If your model is made of surfaces or polygons it is necessary to duplicate the edges of the objects to make 2D lines, you cannot use the surface geometry directly for water-jet cutting. Objects and parts should be made at full-scale, the limits of the bed size are 40” x 20”. Pieces should also be on the XY plane with the Z axis up.
2) Once you have suitable geometry created in a 3D application you must export it as DXF. In 1998, Intuitive Manufacturing Systems was a 4-year-old ERP company, following the industry leaders, investigating “lite-client” architectures and tools to move their ERP package into the Internet age. Setting up WSDL4Py
The prerequisites for using the WSDL4Py library and the examples in this tutorial are as follows:
*A working knowledge of the Python programming language, and WSDL.
*Python: version 2.0 or more recent is highly recommended, but 1.5.2 will work as well.
*4Suite: version 0.11 or more recent. The software should work under UNIX and Windows. Unfortunately, Macintosh users must wait for someone to port the XPath library of 4Suite to that platform, or wait for 4Suite-0.11.1 that will have a pure Python XPath parser
Installation is quite simple. Download and unpack the archive, then run the command python setup.py install, which will copy the library to the appropriate location in your PYTHONPATH. To test the installation, run the following command:

To interact or get more details about the current topic the user would provide information via a form, click submit and wait for a new page to be downloaded. The foundation of the Web was to be able to share information. Until competent search engines were developed, the user would click on provided links to traverse the myriad of data. The Web opened up a vast world of knowledge to people. Except it was, and still is, very visually oriented and relies on the mouse interface to navigate.
Eventually the Web became more accessible. Mechanisms are available and supported in Web browsers to provide keyboard navigation and to enable assistive technologies to allow persons with disabilities to use the Web. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 were developed in the W3C to provide guidance and techniques to make the Web Accessible [1]. The original Web was not perfect but with some work by Web developers it could be used by all.
Now we are entering the next generation of the Web – Web 2.0. It is all about interaction, collaboration, and social networking. It is more dynamic and fluid and no longer just static pages of information. This presents yet another challenge for people with disabilities.
