  • Biological Safety Manual
  • This manual has been prepared as an update to the 1976 Minimum Safety Guidelines for Biological Research at Yale, and the 1979 Yale University Biological Safety Manual. As with the previous manuals, we have provided a core set of biosafety practices and procedures for the safe handling of known biohazards and potentially infectious materials. Relevant sections from the previous manuals have been maintained and updated where necessary. The manual focuses on Biosafety Levels 1 and 2, as over 99% of Yale laboratories fall within these designations. A separate manual is available for researchers working in Biosafety Level 3 research laboratories. No work with Biosafety Level 4 agents may be conducted at Yale University. The Yale Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety Section (OHS) Biosafety Program and the requirements for Yale researchers are outlined in the manual. Registration and training information are provided along with details on work practices, safety equipment and facility design. It is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator or Supervisor to ensure that his/her laboratory is in compliance. That responsibility includes identification of the risk or hazards associated with their research and the application of the appropriate safety procedures. Please read the section on responsibilities for additional information. In the past, the University has also distributed copies of the Centers for Disease Control/National Institutes of Health Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories to all Yale research laboratories. The text has served as a functional biosafety manual for the University. This document and other pertinent biosafety training
  • ISOXpress NET Manual Config IsoXpressData Share
  • There is normally no need to manually create and configure the IsoXpressData share. The share is created on the server by the ISOXpress Server Utility application. The only time you must be able to manually create and configure the share is when you have a none-windows server (for example Linux Red Hat). Knowing how to configure the IsoXpressData share manually will be also helpful when troubleshooting the server connection, and for quick configuration when you are temporarily moving the IsoXpressData folder to another computer. Creating ‘IsoXpressData’ share on the server Before creating the share, make sure that your computer is not configured for simple file sharing (you will need the full set of options). To do this, open the Control Panel and double-click on the Folder Options icon. Now, find the IsoXpressData folder that you previously copied to the server, right-click the folder and select Sharing and Security... form the context menu. In the Folder Options dialog that opens, select the View tab, scroll the settings panel to the bottom, and make sure that the Use simple file sharing box is unchecked (uncheck it if it is checked). Click OK to save changes and close the dialog window. Download pdf ISOXpress NET Manual Config IsoXpressData Share

  • Mobile Ajax for Java ME Technology
  • There are many Sun Microsystems technologies that use Ajax [Ajax], and more than one way to use Ajax on mobile platforms. For example, applications written using the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE, formerly known as J2EE) may generate XML, JSON [JSON], XHTML and/or ECMAScript destined for mobile browsers. One of the recent advances on the Java Platform, Mobile Edition (Java ME, formerly known as J2ME) is the Mobile Service Architecture [MSA]. MSA is a Java Specification Request (JSR-248) which defines a set of APIs for Java ME which include a wide variety of features, from Bluetooth to payment, multimedia APIs and support for rich, animated graphics. This paper discusses an effort to provide Java ME developers with tools to create Mobile Ajax applications, combining the simplicity and familiarity of the Ajax programming model with the richness and secure environment of the MSA APIs. This effort takes the form of an open-source library that can be added to any Java ME application. The paper briefly describes this library along with some sample use cases. Mobile Ajax For The Java ME Platform Ajax is typically used in the context of Web applications running in a browser and using XmlHttpRequest from ECMAScript to retrieve XML or JSON data from RESTful Web Services. The results are applied as updates to the current browser's page DOM (Document Object Model [DOM]). In the scope of this paper, Mobile Ajax on the Java ME platform is used to mean the following: ? Asynchronous call to the network (using the Mobile Information Device
  • RAID Installation Guide for Silicon Image 3112A Manual
  • What is RAID? Advantages of RAID Disadvantages of RAID Different Types of RAID Configurations RAID 0 (Striped) RAID 1 (Mirrored) Drivers Creating a Driver Disk 4 2.2 Installing Drivers Installing Hard Disks Creating a RAID Array Using the RAID Configuration Utility 5 4.2 Creating Arrays Automatically Creating Arrays Manually Creating RAID 0 Creating RAID 1 Rebuilding a RAID 1 Array Deleting ArraysUsing your RAID Drive Partitioning and Formatting Under Windows XP 10Installing an OS on a RAID Drive Installing Windows 98/ME Installing Windows 2000/XP Using Hard Drives as Non-RAID Disadvantages of RAID Using many drives has a disadvantage. The probability of a single drive failing out of many drives is much higher than that of one failing out of only one. This results in a greater chance of losing the information on your disks. There are ways however, to minimize this effect, even making it more reliable than using single disks. 1.3 Different Types of RAID Configurations There are many different ways in which RAID can be configured, each with its set of advantages and disadvantages. The Silicon Image® controller supports the RAID 0 and RAID 1 configurations. 1.3.1 RAID 0 (Striped) RAID 0 works by breaking down data and spreading it over multiple disk drives. RAID 0 does not protect data from failure, and due to the way it stores data, a fault on one drive would result in failure of the entire array. It does however, have vast improvements in both reading and writing speeds,
