  • Microsoft IIS Installation and Configuration Guide for Helm 4
  • Depending on how your server is set up, you may or may not have Microsoft IIS installed. IIS is a mandatory install if you want to use Helm. It is used to host the Helm website, and will also host any websites you wish to create. Note:- These are guidelines only. We will not provide support for IIS or any other 3rd party applications directly. 1.) Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components. 2.) Double-click Application Server. 3.) You will see that Internet Information Services (IIS) is not checked. Check the box. Press “OK”. You may need your Windows CD in the server drive before you can do this. Once completed, IIS is installed. You will now need to refer to IIS documentation to start configuring it to your requirements. Using Helm with Microsoft IIS 5 or 6 Helm will control IIS 5 or 6 on the control server or any remote server. Although IIS will be controlled by Helm with no additional configuration, there are some alterations that should be made to the global IIS settings to take advantage of everything Helm has to offer. To start, run the IIS interface on the server you wish Helm to control. Right click on the server name on the left hand side of the screen and click on “Properties” on the menu that drops down. • Mac OS - Make A Bootable MAC CD using Toast Guide
  • This information was compiled from the Roxio Toast web site, other Mac users, and my own experience. This information is not copyrighted (especially since I have borowed logos and trademarked names) so feel free to share it. Version 1.2 January 30, 2002 I was very frustrated! After creating six “coasters”, I thought there was no way to burn a bootable Mac CD using Toast. I followed their directions, the help I found on the Toast web site was unclear, and I downloaded someone else s instructions and just couldn’t do it. While I’m not a computer expert, I have used Mac’s since (this dates me) 1985 and can probably do better troubleshooting and mechanical work than the geek that charges $75 an hour. So I poked around, put together the pieces of the puzzle and burned a bootable Mac OS CD. While I was doing that, I wrote this to help anyone else who was as frustrated as I was. Yes, it’s lengthy and detailed but if you follow step-by-step you won’t have any “coasters”. If you find any errors or omissions feel free to email me at thofts@mac.com. Thanks! - - Tom PS - Please keep the “stuffed” copy of this in your SHARED FOLDER so others on the network can get to it when I’m offline. –Thanks! • DV video capturing using iMovie (Mac)
  • This document describes how to capture video and export audio from a DV recording using Apple iMovie. You should know whether your recording is in PAL or NTSC format.iMovie does not copy the time code from the DV tape while capturing. This means that it’s not possible to re-capture exactly the same piece at a later point unless you manually look up the correct time codes on the tape.Final Cut Pro does copy the time code from the tape. Requirements: • Apple Macintosh with Mac OS X 10.2 or higher • Enough free hard disk space (about 250-300 MB for 1 minute of video) • Apple iMovie software • DV camera suitable for your video format (PAL/NTSC) • FireWire cable (4 to 6 pin) 1. • Adobe Linguistic Library Plug-ins Programming Guide
  • This programming guide will help you develop plug-ins for Adobe® Linguistic Library. Linguistic Library makes it possible to add linguistic services like spell checkers and hyphenation services to Adobe products, through the Linguistic Library API. Linguistic Library is not a shrink-wrapped product. Instead, it provides common linguistic services for many Adobe products; thus, it is an important component of these products. Linguistic Library has an extensible architecture. You can extend the functionality of Linguistic Library to provide customized linguistic services by implementing plug-ins for it. The advantage of implementing plug-ins through Linguistic Library is that these additional lin- guistic services are available to all Adobe products automatically if they use Linguistic Library. To provide services through individual product extensions, you would have to write programs against every product API. The intended audience for this document is developers with a basic understanding of Microsoft Component Object Model (COM) technology and Apple’s CFPlug-in API (since the Linguistic Library plug-in architecture is based on these technologies). Terminology The following terms are used in this document: Client application — An Adobe application that uses linguistics services provided by Lin- guistic Library. Lilo — Shorthand for Adobe Linguistic Library, used in some interface names and folder names. Plug-in — Except where explicitly specified, “plug-ins” in this document refers to Linguistic Library plug-ins that extend Linguistic Library and provide additional, customized linguis- tic services. — The location of the Linguistic Library plug-ins folder, On Mac OS®, this is /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Linguistics/Providers/Plugins. On Windows®, this is C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeLinguisticsProvidersPlugins. — The path where you installed the
  • GTK+ 2.0 Tree View Tutorial
  • GtkTreeView is a widget that displays single- or multi-columned lists and trees. It replaces the old Gtk+-1.2 Gtk-CList and GtkCTree widgets. Even though GtkTreeView is slightly harder to master than its predecessors, it is so much more powerful and flexible that most application developers will not want to miss it once they have come to know it. The purpose of this chapter is not to provide an exhaustive documentation of GtkTreeView - that is what the API documentation is for, which should be read alongside with this tutorial. The goal is rather to present an introduction to the most commonly-used aspects of GtkTreeView, and to demonstrate how the various GtkTreeView components and concepts work together. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to shed some light on custom tree models and custom cell renderers, which seem to be often-mentioned, but rarely explained. Developers looking for a quick and dirty introduction that teaches them everything they need to know in less than five paragraphs will not find it here. In the author’s experience, developers who do not understand how the tree view and the models work together will run into problems once they try to modify the given examples, whereas developers who have worked with other toolkits that employ the Model/View/Controller-design will find that the API reference provides all the information they need to know in more condensed form anyway. Those who disagree may jump straight to the working example code of course. Please note that the code examples in the following sections do not

Their catalog team is responsible for publishing product catalogs that are distributed to the sales force for generating new business. Every week or so, the catalog team receives spreadsheets of products that need to be included in upcoming catalogs. Information and images for any new products must be procured from the product manufacturer. Once all the data has been gathered, it is entered into a page layout program and printed. The catalog team finds this process very frustrating, because the spreadsheets are more often similar than not. Any given item might be going into multiple catalogs, so any changes to the item price, for example, must be made in multiple spreadsheets. Even worse, the team members have to pass documents back and forth, making sure to
