20 April 2007 AMD Logo www.amd.com By: Dan Frincu, Hardware Editor AMDs Agena Processor is a Serious Overclocker The era of overclocking has begun When Intel came forth with the Core microarchitecture, everybody was simply delighted at the fact that a processor could overclock to as much as 100% of its stock frequency by using air cooling alone. But back then, AMD had only the K8 architecture to show off and people were already aware of what its capabilities were. So Intel got almost 90% of the x86 processo market, while AMD was left with a trail of breadcrumbs to help them get back on their way. But then the dreaded K10 microarchitecture came, bound to take the bull by the hor and shake things up a little bit. As far as speculatio go, there were a lot of them made on this subject, but it seems that the guys from Fudzilla.com got their hands on an Agena processor and took it for a severe regime

However, very little is know about how system operators work, what tools they use and how we can make them more efficient. In this paper we study the practices of operators in a large-scale Internet service Amazon.com and propose a new set of tools for operators. The first tool lets the operators explore the health of system components and dependencies between them; the other monitors the actions of operators and automatically suggests solutions to recurring problems.
Large-scale Internet services invest significant amount of time and money to achieve high availability of their service, typically in the form of labor-intensive monitoring and response teams. Despite the high human resource expenditures, software and hardware failures still occur, and the human-intensive approach to monitoring and troubleshooting scales poorly as the service’s complexity and workload grow [1]. We hypothesize that the right kind of visualization and automation can reduce the human effort required for monitoring and repairing failures, allow operators to more quickly recognize a problem as recurrent, and facilitate better knowledge transfer in quickly-growing or high-turnover teams.
One of the authors spent three months working alongside the Amazon.com team responsible for real-time monitoring of hardware and software and for providing monitoring tools for the rest of the company. We collected quantitative data via interviews and surveys and analyzed the data in the trouble ticket database that contains information aboutAn Inside Look at the Evolution of DotNetNuke pdfAs much as I would like people to believe that DotNetNuke was intentionally created as a premier open source project for the Microsoft platform, it is unfortunately not the case. As is true with many open source projects, the software was created with commercial intentions in mind, and only when it was discovered that its true purpose would not be realized was it reconsidered as an open source project.
In 2001–2002 I was working for a medium-sized software consulting company that was providing outsourced software development services to a variety of large U.S. clients specializing primarily in e-Learning initiatives. The internal push was to achieve CMM 3.0 on a fairly aggressive schedule so that we could compete with the emerging outsourcing powerhouses from India and China. As a result there was an incredible amount of focus on process and procedure and somewhat less focus on the technical aspects of software engineering. Because the majority of the client base was interested in the J2EE platform, the company had primarily hired resources with Java skills — leaving myself with my legacy Microsoft background to assume more of an internal development and project management role. The process improvement exercise consumed a lot of time and energy for the company; attempting to better define roles and responsibilities and ensuring proper documentation throughout the project life cycle. Delving into CMM and the PMBOK were great educational benefits for me — skills that would prove to be invaluable in future endeavors. Ultimately the large U.S. clients decidedSimpleMail 4.3 User's GuideThis booklet tells you how to set up and use the SimpleMail internet e-mail transport. For the background on Newton e-mail, please refer to Apple’s Newton E-Mail guide
Getting started
There are several things you need to do in order to use e-mail.
- You need to create an Internet setup using the Newton Internet Enabler (NIE) [5] so that your Newton device can communicate with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or intranet.
- If you’re using a modem, you need to set your modem preferences.
- You need to set up SimpleMail [8]. Once these steps are done, you should be able to use e-mail on your Newton device.
Note
Because SimpleMail uses the Newton Internet Enabler, it will only work with Newton 2.x devices. It will not work on the Original MessagePad (OMP), MP100, MP110 or early models of the MP120 which use Newton 1.x.x
Since then Paul Guyot has created a 2.1 (710031) update for the English MP2000 and MP2100 that fixes a Dates/Find bug.
The six-digit number tells you what type of Newton device the system update applies to, and when it was built. See the Newton FAQ: Newton OS [3] for a full description of the numbering system.
Newton Internet Enabler
Your Newton must be Internet Enabled before you can use SimpleMail. You need to install Apple’s Newton Internet Enabler (NIE) [5], of which there are two versions.
- NIE 1.1 works on any Newton 2.x device. It is the only option for the MP120 and MP130.
- NIE 2.0 works only on Newton 2.1 devices, ie MP2000,Celestron CPC Telescope Instruction ManualThe CPC GPS ushers in the next generation of computer automated telescopes. The CPC series uses GPS (Global Positioning System) technology to take the guesswork and effort out of aligning and finding celestial objects in the sky. Simple and easy to use, the CPC with its on-board GPS, is up and running after locating just three celestial objects. It’s so advanced that once you turn it on, the integrated GPS automatically pinpoints your exact coordinates. No need to enter the date, time, longitude and latitude or even know the name of a single star in the sky. If you are new to astronomy, you may wish to start off by using the CPC's built-in Sky Tour feature, which commands the CPC to find the most interesting objects in the sky and automatically slews to each one. Or if you are more experienced, you will appreciate the comprehensive database of over 40,000 objects, including customized lists of all the best deep-sky objects, planets and bright double stars. No matter at what level you are starting out, the CPC will unfold for you and your friends all the wonders of the Universe.
Some of the many standard features of the CPC include:
• Integrated Global Positioning System for easy alignment.
• Fully enclosed optical encoders for position location.
• Ergonomically designed hand controller – built into the side of the fork arm.
• Database filter limits for creating custom object lists.
• Storage for programmable user defined objects; and Many other high performance features!

Coma and astigmatism of NICMOS cameras have been derived using phase retrieval analysis of the data from the NICMOS focus monitoring program. Analysis of these aberrations has revealed that y-coma in all three camera experienced a systematic change over the NICMOS lifetime in Cycles 7 and 7a. A similar variation has been found for x-astigmatism in camera 2. In camera 3, the x-astigmatism increased dramatically after the FOM had been given a y-tilt of 16 arcsec. X-coma and y-astigmatism in all cameras did not show substantial systematic variations over the same period of time. The results of this study should help to understand the origin of the NICMOS optics instability. They should also facilitate interpretation of possible changes in NICMOS cameras when they are back to operations after installation of the cryocooler in Cycle 10.
1. Introduction
NICMOS optical characteristics experienced noticeable variations since the start of the instrument orbital life in early 1997. These include not only the changing focus position

More and more are we seeing products of multimedia technology that includes 3D Animations. The creative and economical use of 3D animation can be evidenced in many of the released animated features like games or movies. Backgrounds, camera moves, crowd scenes, and machines of all descriptions have been modeled and animated digitally. 3D companies are striving to improve the entertainment value of their products. The images created with these tools will become more and more sophisticated with each passing year.
In this paper, two of the newest 3D Animation Software will be discussed and compared. One of the software is named Poser, and the other one is Maya.
Poser 5 is the ultimate 3D-character design and animation tool for artists and animators. It allows animators to create 3D figures by using a diverse collection of ready-to-use 3D human and animal models. Poser’s innovative interface makes figure design, posing, and animating fast and easy. This product is innovated by Curious Labs, Inc.
