How To Increase Rankings In Google And Yahoo SERP’s White PaperWorldwide, around 70% of the Internet traffic is currently being generated through popular search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Increasing rankings in Google and Yahoo SERP's (Search Engine Result Pages) has thus become the primary need for all online operators, be it online retailers, free content, tools, software and services providers, or personal website owners. Achieving the above objective is however not an easy task and more often online operators hire professional help such as Internet Marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) services. This white paper aims to substantiate the important role played by SEO service providers and how they help website owners achieve the most from their online initiatives.
There is no questioning the effectiveness and importance of SEO, but since Google and Yahoo keep changing their ranking algorithms on a continuous basis, actual SEO tools and techniques deployed by SEO firms may differ. The actual SEO tools and techniques used may also vary depending on the type of online business, its size, its targeted audience, and available monetary resources. However, there are some SEO tools and techniques that have passed the test of time and are still widely used by SEO professionals, the world over. We have identified some of these prominent, timetested SEO tools and they have been discussed in the following paragraphs.

Over the last 10 years, the XML standard has been adopted across a wide range of environments in the IT industry. Microsoft is one of many companies that is re-aligning its existing product range to take advantage of the flexibility of XML. One of its current initiatives is the standardization of the Office Open XML File Formats (‘File Formats’).This paper reviews the standardisation process that Microsoft has embarked upon and examines Microsoft’s legal arrangements related to intellectual property associated with the File Formats and the manner in which that legal treatment interacts with other products currently on the market.
This paper seeks to address and we hope to clarify any misunderstandings that may exist in the industry, among policymakers and the wider general public, about both the standardisation process and the legal arrangements governing implementation of the File Formats by others.
Overview of Office Open XML File Formats
For a number of years, the software and IT industry has been moving increasingly from proprietary systems and formats towards ‘open’ standards. In the business applications software market, there are moves to establish ‘open’ file formats of various office applications, including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation products, in order to enable users to easily transfer their documents and data between different applications and to ensure that if their applications cease to be supported in the future that they canFacebook CaseHere’s how much of a Web 2.0 guy Mark Zuckerberg is: during the weeks he spent working on Facebook as a Harvard sophomore, he didn’t have time to study for a course he was taking, “Art in the Time of Augustus,” so he built a website containing all of the artwork in class and pinged his classmates to contribute to a communal study guide. Within hours, the wisdom of crowds produced a sort of custom Cliff Notes for the course, and after reviewing the web based crib sheet, he aced the test. Turns out he didn’t need to take that exam, anyway. Zuck (that’s what the cool kids call him) dropped out of Harvard later that year.
Zuckerberg is known as both a shy, geeky, introvert who eschews parties, as well as for his brash Silicon Valley bad-boy image. After Facebook’s incorporation, Zuckerberg’s job description was listed as “Founder, Master and Commander [and] Enemy of the State.” An early business card read “I’m CEO . . . Bitch.” And let’s not forget that Facebook came out of drunken experiments in his dorm room, one of which was initially to have compared classmates to farm animals (Zuckerberg, threatened with expulsion, later apologized). For one meeting with Sequoia Capital, the venerable Menlo Park, California, venture capital firm that backed Google and YouTube, Zuckerberg showed up in his pajamas.
By the age of 23, Mark Zuckerberg had graced the cover of Newsweek, been profiled on 60 Minutes, and was discussed in the tech world withXOSD Guide and Reference ManualXOSD is a system that displays text on top of the other windows, much like the on-screen display (OSD) used by most modern televisions and video-players. In typical open-source style, it was written to scratch an itch. André Renaud had just installed an infa-red sensor in his computer and was using a stereo remote-control to change what track XMMS was playing, but he could not see the track title from across the room. So André sat down and wrote XOSD to display track-names in XMMS.
Over time features were added and XOSD became a stand-alone library, rather than just a plug-in for XMMS; eventually, XOSD 1.0 was released.

Now your thoughts are turning to access control. Just enough time to splice in that trusty user authentication and roles module, make a few tweaks and move on to the next project. Wait! Do you really want to contribute yet another authorization stovepipe to the growing forest? We all curse the proliferation of authentication and authorization “solutions” on the Web. Yet we continue to treat access control as an after thought.
Developers accept the benefits of adopting third-party solutions for common functions such as data storage, cryptography, numerical analysis, parsing, etc., yet continue to roll their own application access control solutions. Why? The disadvantages of RYO are obvious: application-specific user accounts and passwords proliferate, each application reinvents how roles should be implemented -- perhaps even a language for specifying access constraints -- and, if integration with an external authentication framework is required, each application must implement interfaces to the drivers. This is irritating to our users, a headache for those who administer the applications, and costly to maintain.
In this article we develop a set of Web 2.0 best practices for “outsourcing” the access control problem. Following these practices produces applications that readily integrate into an organization’s existing access control infrastructure, and simplifies application development and maintenance.
