Creative image manipulation using PhotoshopThis document aims to introduce the basics of image processing using Adobe Photoshop.
When you have completed these exercises, you should be able to:
• retouch a damaged photograph;
• make selections using a variety of tools;
• adjust the hue and saturation of colours within an image;
• blend images to create a seamless montage;
• add and edit text.
There is little doubt that the use of digital images in learning, teaching and research projects is growing. Typical uses include: supporting lectures and other presentations; creating Web-based instruction and creating digital image archives. Another aspect of digital images is that they can be delivered on a variety of supports: PowerPoint, Web, image database, CD-ROM, and print. It is therefore important to be familiar with image digitisation processes in order to obtain images that will be ‘fit for purpose’.
This document shows you how to apply image enhancement techniques using Adobe Photoshop CS2.

If you have a scene that is particularly complex scene or render then having the extra available memory that Maya would have been using if it were open can really help. Using the command line method is also a quick way to change settings for your rendering of multiple files. If you needed to render a low-res preview for a client for example you could do that using this rendering technique rather than having you open up a series of files to edit them all individually.
The feature about rendering from the command line that personally I find to be most valuable is that it allows you to set-up a render queue. You can have multiple scene files, for example different shots or render passes and have them render one after another. So you don’t need to baby-sit your computer while rendering.

In Photoshop, go to Layers > create separate layers, draw shapes that will be later connected together
Select the white area above the curve with the Magic Wand tool. Go to Paths > create a path.
Go to File Export > Path to Illustrator, save as an Illustrator file.
In Maya, go File > Import > File type > Illustrator or Best Guess Select curves two by two as object, GREEN selection, go to Surface > Edit Curve > Rebuild curves, check the settings in the window below
Choose selection as objects (GREEN), select the curves two by two. Go to Surfaces > Loft, select Polygon in the options window

RS4 K04 Fueling Kit Update 2.0
Update 2.0 for your AWE Tuning RSK04 fueling kit applies to 2000 S4s. (Update 1.0 upgraded intake boot plug to aluminum and only affected early kits) After considerable testing, we have found it necessary to convert the 2000 S4 Bosch Mass Air Flow sensors (MAF) to the later 2001-02 Hitachi design. Not only is the Hitachi sensor much less prone to failure than the Bosch sensor, it also allows us to fine tune some drivability issues found with the Bosch sensor.

This world of people talking is now being complemented with a wireless world of all things “talking” – in other words, all things are becoming wireless. As these new systems continue to evolve to meet their best-fit applications in the enterprise, matching each one’s unique characteristics to the application is not always clear to the prospective end user or even to a providing system integrator.
Passive RFID system solutions are well known for their strengths and weaknesses in various tagging applications from access control to the supply chain. Active RFID/RTLS offers many more application opportunities for labor free automatic identification, counting, locating, sensing and protecting of assets; however, active RFID solutions today are being addressed using a handful of different system architectures. The mapping of best-fit characteristics for each is critical to achieving a workable system with the necessary reliability and at the lowest cost. What follows is a best-fit application analysis of the various active RFID system architecture alternatives for enterprise tagging solutions.
The Foundation
Enterprise RFID systems can generally be categorized as either “passive” or “active,” with passive tags using the received signal for power and active tags using an embedded battery for power. Passive deployments typically occur in the high-frequency and ultra-high-frequency (HF/UHF) radio bands with applications such as the tracking of goods in the supply chain. They typically haveUsing the Microsoft Visual Basic Macro EMM_MACROThis macro was written in Microsoft Visual Basic for use with Microsoft Excel. It computes cross-sectional geometric properties from biplanar radiographic images using the eccentric ellipse model (EEM) described in detail by Milgrom et al. (1989) and Ohman (1993). The Macro was first implemented in: O’Neill MC, Ruff CB. 2004. Estimating human long bone cross-sectional geometric properties: a comparison of noninvasive methods. J. Hum. Evol. 47:???-???
A. General Instructions
The EMM_Macro is very simple and works in the same manner as a cell function. To begin, enter your data in the columns G through N:
AP
ap
ac
pc
ML
ml
mc
lc
AP = anteriorposterior external breadth
ap = anteriorposterior breadth of medullary cavity. Computed automatically as AP-(ac+pc).
Leave blank (see below for explanation).
ac = anterior cortical thickness
pc = posterior cortical thickness
ML = mediolateral external breadth
ml = mediolateral breadth of the medullary cavity. Computed automatically as ML-(mc+lc).
Leave blank (see below for explanation).
mc = medial cortical thickness
lc = lateral cortical thickness
Once the data is entered the Macro is implemented by going to TOOLS, scrolling down to MACRO, and then clicking on MACROS. Make sure “EccentricEllipseMacro” is highlighted and then click RUN. This will compute the cross-sectional geometric properties using the eccentric ellipse model for 150 sections.
