  • Ubuntu/VMware and Proxmox Installation Guide Manual
  • Introduction Virtualization is one of the most interesting evolutions in IT industry. July 2006, the market leader VMware™ (http://www.vmware.com) released VMware Server™ for free, with support for Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Server (Dapper Drake). Requirements Hardware We suggest a reasonable fast CPU, 2 GHZ or better. At least 512 MB of RAM and, very important, two disk systems – one for the operating system and one for the virtual machines. Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH reserves the right to make changes to this document and to the products described herein without notice. • SimpleTech Secure Digital (SD) Card/Adapter User Guide
  • This is an Installation and User Guide for the SimpleTech® SD Card and SD Card Adapter. The SimpleTech SD Card is a highly secure super small form-factor card used in several devices including Digital Cameras, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), MP3 music players, digital voice recorders, and other electronic devices such as cell phones, and pagers. The SD Card is a solid-state, nonvolatile removable and reusable mass storage which shows up as an ATA hard drive to the host. However, compared to ATA/IDE/ESDI hard drives with rotating discs, the Solid State SD Card is extremely rugged and very compact. The SD Card features high transfer rate for fast copy and download. The SD Card also features a Write Protect Switch on the casing to prevent accidental overwriting or erasure of the data. The SD Card complies with both current and future Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) portable device requirements. The SD Card Adapter allows the SD Card to plug into a PC Card socket. Therefore, the SD Card with the SD Card Adapter provides removable mass storage to thousands of hosts that have PC Card sockets, standard on many notebook computers. • Towards C# program verification: C#-kernel and its axiomatic semantics
  • Verification of programs presented in widely-used object-oriented programming languages, such as C++, C#, Java, is a subject of much current interest. The well-known approach to program verification is based on Hoare-like axiomatic semantics. Difficulties of developing compact and transparent axiomatic semantics of object-oriented programming languages are connected with such constructs as overloading, dynamic binding of methods, exception handling, static initialization of classes. Axiomatic semantics has been proposed for different sequential subsets of Java in [3, 4, 7–10]. While compact and transparent axiomatic semantics has been developed for separate difficult Java constructs, it turned out to be cumbersome and inconvenient for the practical use in the case of a wide sequential Java subset. In this paper we consider a wide sequential C# subset called C#-light. C#-light programs include all sequential C# constructs except for attributes, destructors, using statements, checked and unchecked constructs and unsafe code constructs. To simplify C#-light program verification, C#-light is translated into an intermediate language C#-kernel, for which a Hoare-like axiomatic semantics is proposed. Unlike standard axiomatic semantics, our forward rules can generate lazy verification conditions which include functional symbols denoting postponed extractions of invariants of labelled statements as well as postponed invocations of methods and delegates. These functional symbols are eliminated by refinement algorithms. Download pdf Towards C# program verification: C#-kernel and its axiomatic semantics
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0
  • Taking a peek at Elements 3 for the first time and you will realize this is a major revamp to their popular image editing software. Elements almost has 3 unique features to offer to user: Photo Organizer: Allows you to add and organize your photos within Adobe Photoshop Elements. Photo Editor: Allows you to use Adode Photoshop Elements to edit your photos (this is the part of Elements you will most recognize) Photo Creations: Allows you to create web page galleries, slide shows, greeting cards and more. This is the splash page you will see when you boot up Elements. You can see that you have the choice to View and organize photos, fix photos, edit photos or make a photo creation. Bad News > Macintosh Users: Ya know I love ya and I am sure Adobe does as well. However, the photo organizing and sharing features are not available in the Macintosh version of Elements. The main reason is most Mac users will be using iPhoto to organize and share their photos. Download pdf Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0
  • Apache POI - HWPF - Java API to Handle Microsoft Word Files
  • HWPF is the name of our port of the Microsoft Word 97(-2007) file format to pure Java. It does not support the new Word 2007 .docx file format, which is not OLE2 based. HWPF is still in early development. It is in the scratchpad section of the SVN. You will need to ensure you either have a recent SVN checkout, or a recent SVN nightly build (including the scratchpad jar!) Source in the org.apache.poi.hwpf.model tree is the old legacy code refactored into an object model. Source code in the org.apache.poi.hwpf.extractor tree is a wrapper of this to facilitate easy extraction of interesting things (eg the Text). Source code in the org.apache.poi.hdf tree is the old legacy code. At the moment we unfortunately do not have someone taking care for HWPF and fostering its development. What we need is someone to stand up, take this thing under his hood as his baby and push it forward. Ryan Ackley, who put a lot of effort into HWPF, is no longer on board, so HWPF is an orphan child waiting to be adopted. If you are interested in becoming the new HWPF pointman, you should look into the Microsoft Word internals. A good starting point seems to be Ryan Ackley's overview. This document contains a link to a detailled Word format description you can find somewhere at http://www.wotsit.org/. Please do not contact Ryan Ackley directly, because he is working for a company now that signed a NDA with Microsoft and thus he will be no longer
