Silverlight is a new Web presentation technology that is created to run on a variety of platforms. It enables the creation of rich, visually stunning and interactive experiences that can run everywhere: within browsers and on multiple devices and desktop operating systems (such as the Apple Macintosh). In consistency with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), the presentation technology in Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 (the Windows programming infrastructure), XAML (eXtensible Application Markup Language) is the foundation of the Silverlight presentation capability.
The Evolution of Web Development: Moving to Web.Next
When Tim Berners-Lee at CERN invented the modern Web, it was intended as a system that allowed static documents to be stored and linked on a network- based system. Over the years, innovation grew, with the logical next step being "active" documents that are generated at the time they are requested with time-specific or user- specific information. Technologies such as CGI empowered this. Over time, the ability to generate documents on the Web became paramount, and the technology evolved through CGI, Java, ASP, and then ASP.NET.
ASP.NET provided a milestone in the ability for a developer to develop quality Web applications quickly using a server-development paradigm and best- of-breed tools from the Visual Studio line of products.

This painful process can be averted by assessing faculty needs and expectations, and selecting a solution that supports seamless content migration and intuitive course management. That may be easier said than done. The $350 million market for LMSs is populated by more than 140 vendors whose mission is to support best practices in the preferred pedagogical approach of colleges and universities.
The proliferation of academic computing solutions has cluttered the market with applications that are bloated with extraneous features. Too often, institutions are lured into the trap of deploying an LMS that is the current favorite, only to realize that these applications are too unwieldy and burdensome to use. In fact, nearly 24 percent of schools with LMS deployments experience buyers’ remorse and would change systems if they could, according to a 2007 study by Bershin and Associates.
Common purchasing mistakes include failing to define system requirements, focusing on price rather than value, overlooking interoperability and scalability, and selecting customization instead of configuration. In addition, vendor lock-in so constrains many institutions that they believe they can’t switch to a new vendor without substantial real or perceived costs.
At a price tag upwards of $35 per user to purchase and nearly twiceGuide to using the Amazon Inventory Management APIThe Amazon Inventory Management (AIM) API provides a secure and automated method to upload inventory and manage orders on Amazon.com Marketplace, zShops and Seller Central. This guide provides a detailed description of this API.
Amazon Inventory Management API provides a secure and automated method to upload inventory and manage orders on Amazon.com Marketplace, or on Seller Central for upgraded accounts. Sellers can use the API to execute the following operations:
• Upload Inventory
• Generate and download Order Reports
• Issue Bulk Refunds
• Generate and download Open Listings Reports
• Query status of uploads and reports
These APIs can be accessed by using HTTPS POST requests and the results are returned as XML responses.
The APIs are available via a standard HTTPS interface and utilize the underlying SSL protocol for secure transmission of data. The identity of the seller will be verified using the HTTP Basic Authentication Scheme. The seller will provide his or her e-mail address and password in the HTTPS header, encoded using base64. For example, the user name "Aladdin" and password "open sesame" would be combined as "Aladdin:open sesame"
– which is equivalent to QWxhZGRpbjpvcGVuIHNlc2FtZQ== when encoded in base-64 [7 bit]. This is provided as an HTTP header that looks like the following:
Authorization: Basic QWxhZGRpbjpvcGVuIHNlc2FtZQ==

If you are using only 2D AutoCAD ® commands, why not use the new 2D Drafting & Annotation workspace? This capability displays powerful 2D tools on the Dashboard.
D Dashboard Control Panels
New 2D control panels provide easy access to layers and include controls for annotation scaling, text, dimensions, multiple leaders, tables, 2D navigation commands, object properties, and block attributes. When you select a tool from the Dashboard, the corresponding tool palette also displays, where applicable.
Tool Palettes
When you drag geometry to an inactive tool palette, it is automatically activated for easy placement—just give it an extra second to switch.
• A new Specify Image option on the shortcut menu makes it easy to assign an image to any tool.
• The location of tools on a tool palette is now saved in the tool catalog (and the profile), making it easier to share your tool palettes with others and maintain the same look and feel.
• Use TPNAVIGATE to set a tool palette current at the command line (for programming purposes).
Clean Screen
Use the Clean Screen button located in the lower-right corner of the screen to turn off everything except for the status and menu bars and the command window. This feature comes in handy when showing files to a client and you need to quickly clean up your interface.
Download pdf Lynn Allen’s Tips and Tricks For Using AutoCAD 2008 SoftwareHow to Use Social Software in Higher EducationThe fact that you are reading this handbook probably means that you are experienced in e-Learning implementation at a university or similar institution. You will probably be aware of the tools and styles of working on LMS, and will be used to communicating whilst working and learning online. But at the same time, by surfing the net and probably by observing your students, you will clearly see that changes are coming. Freely available new technologies, common access to the Internet and to information, new types of social interactions mediated by technology; all of these things require a shift in the way that we learn and teach. e-Learning using new technologies is an innovative learning method.
During recent years, ‘innovation’ has become a real buzz word. Many companies have revolutionized their products or business models. In education literature, you can find many case studies and best practices on how to modernize teaching and learning process. But before taking action, we should try to understand innovation in the context of technology-enhanced learning. What is new and what is now outdated? We can understand all this as technology, but also as new ways to communicate, work and learn. Within this handbook we think of innovation as technology, adapted for new learning purposes.
The term ‘Web 2.0’ was coined by O’Reilly (2005) as a common denominator for recent trends heading towards the ‘Read-Write Web’, allowing everyone to publish resources on the web using simple and open, personal and collaborative publishing tools, known as social software: blogs,Winterm 3000 Series Add-on Administrators GuideBefore You Begin Installing the Add-ons Preparing for Installation 3 Determining the Amount of Free Flash Memory 4 Obtaining an Add-on Package from Wyse Technology 5 Verifying an Add-on Package Contents 5 Installation Files 6 Removal Files 6 Installing and Removing the Add-ons Installing an Add-on Using Rapport Administrative Software 7 Registering an Add-on Package in the Software Repository 8 Distributing an Add-on Package 10 Installing an Add-on Using Remote Administrator 3000 (RA3000) 11 Installing an Add-on Using FTP Pull 15 Removing an Add-on 16 Removing an Add-on
