  • MIDISport 1x1/2x2/2x4/4x4 User Guide
  • The MIDISPORT provides up to four independent MIDI input ports and up to four independent MIDI output ports, depending on which model you have. Each MIDI port supports 16 MIDI channels, therefore the MIDISPORT is capable of sending and receiving from 16 (1 port x 16 channels) to 64 (4 ports x 16) channels. MIDI is the acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface and is the protocol used when "MIDI" keyboards and devices that record and play back the "MIDI" information (computers and hardware "sequencers") communicate with each other. MIDI Interfaces such as the MIDISPORT are typically used to interface MIDI synthesizers with MIDI sequencing software. The USB port uses powerful technology that allows easy connection to a "host" computer. It supports multiple USB peripheral devices running simultaneously—all without having to configure jumpers, I/O addresses or DMA channels. On a PC—you must be running Windows XP, 2000, Me, or Windows 98 to properly install the MIDISPORT. Also, your motherboard must have native USB ports. It is possible for a motherboard to support USB and yet not have the physical port connectors installed. A simple USB back panel extender can be purchased at a computer supply store and can be installed easily to provide USB port connectors. It is recommended that during installation, you do not use a USB hub for connecting the MIDISPORT. Powered USB hubs can be used after the MIDISPORT is successfully installed. On an Apple Computer—your OS must support USB and your computer must have on-board USB ports. All current
  • The 12-in. PowerBook Thin and (Feature) Rich Review
  • Just 4.6 pounds light enough to carry most anywhere, yet hefty enough to convey a feeling of solid construction. I believe it was Walt Mossberg at The Wall Street Journal who best summed up the 12-in. PowerBook. It s like one of those all-metal Leica cameras that just reeks of quality. I have to admit having taken a roller-coaster ride of sorts in the past couple of years since Ap p l e i n t roduced its aluminum PowerBooks. I fell fir s t for the 17-in. model (such widescreen real estate), then swooned for the first-generation 12-in. model (a hot little number in more ways than one, espe-cially when you sat it in your lap), then decided that for most users the midrange 15-in. model is the perfect blend of portability and power. Along the way, I ve bought, borrowed or used just about eve ry combo of PowerBook features that Apple has built, and while I seem to have fin a l l y settled on the 17-in. model for my own use (I have one of the newer 1.67-GHz G4 PowerBooks at home), the entry - s i ze model is no slouch. T he old adage that you can never be too thin or too rich seems like a tailor-made description of what road warriors want in their laptops: thin, lightweight machines that are feature-rich and, of course, inexpensive. • Web 2.0 in 2008
  • Applications manufacturers today offer tools that allow companies to reap all of the potential benefits of Web 2.0. Behind most of these initiatives lies a simple yet very promising idea for the corporate world. Without installing “in house” software (that is under the cloud computing format), companies can capitalize on these free on-line services for a series of activities requiring coordination or collaboration. These include organizing meetings, sharing contacts and documents, and creating communities. Furthermore, integration with social networks allows companies to get to know their clients and their preferences better in order to choose the ideal candidates. In this sense, it seems logical to assume that Web 2.0 will undergo a strong new surge due to its commitment to mobility, and specific applications are already coming out on the market. In general, Spanish companies have been slow to jump onto the bandwagon. There are a few exceptions, though. One of the most noteworthy of these is Actibva, the Web 2.0 platform launched by BBVA that is designed to inform users about the evolution of financial markets and foment relationships among parties interested in savings and economic topics from the viewpoint of markets as well as the personal finances. BBVA’s team of specialized journalists selects news according to completely independent criteria and offers its own views in the Actibva blog. As such, users can vote on news items and introduce their own commentaries. Beyond this example, there are a few interesting Web 2.0 initiatives gathering force among younger Spanish companies. • 2000 AUDI S4 Manual PDF
  • The Audi S4 is an A4 with a sport suspension, 17-inch. wheels, a six-speed manual gearbox, the requisite Quattro all-wheel drive system, and above all. The long-awaited S4 has finally arrived. The Audi S4 is an A4 with a sport suspension, 17-inch wheels, a six-speed manual gearbox, the requisite Quattro all-wheel drive system, and above all, a spirited 2.7-litre biturbo V-6 that generates a whopping 250 horsepower. Interior and trunk The doors open 90 degrees to facilitate access, but a few contortions are necessary to get out from the rear because of the narrow door openings. Audi wisely places the front door handles nearer the front where they are easier to reach when the doors are wide open. Typically German, the seats are firmer than some might like. The front seats are very supportive for long hours of driving. However, they do not have a memory function, and the power controls are hard to reach when the doors are shut. The driving position is very good but tall individuals will find that even with the seat at its lowest position, the steering wheel hides part of the instrument panel. The sunroof uses up a lot of headroom. The brake pedal and accelerator are a bit close, as drivers may discover when wearing winter boots. Here for download the 2000 Audi S4 Manual Book
  • Using the Semantic Web for linking and reusing data across Web 2.0 communities
  • Large volumes of content (bookmarks, reviews, videos, etc.) are currently being created on the “Social Web”, i.e. on Web 2.0 community sites, and this content is being annotated and commented upon. The ability to view an individual’s entire contribution to the Social Web would be an interesting and valuable service, particularly important as social networks are often being formed through created content and things that people have in common (“object-centred sociality”). SIOC is a Semantic Web research project that aims to describe online communities on the Social Web. This paper describes how SIOC and the Semantic Web can enable linking and reuse scenarios of data from Web 2.0 community sites, and introduces a SIOC Types module to further specify the type of content items and act as a “glue” between user posts and the content items created and annotated by users. The Web is increasingly becoming a social place: there has been a shift from just existing on the Web to participating on the Web. Community applications such as collaborative wikis, blogging, photo and bookmark sharing, and online social networks have become very popular recently, both in personal/social and professional/organisational domains [1]. Most of these collaborative applications provide common features such as content creation and sharing (images, user profiles, bookmarks, articles, etc.), provisions for discussions related to the content (comments, talk pages) and user-to-user connections (circle of friends, private messaging, etc.) and networks of users are also forming through content items of common interest (in what has been termed “object-centred sociality”

  • Web 2.0: The New Face of the Web
  • Prior to 2001, web sites were relatively static, designed to push information to users in a manner that was not interactive. But proving that adversity can be the path to enlightenment, following the dot-com crash in late 2001 a new, stronger Web emerged. And unlike its predecessor, the new Web lived up to its name – sites became sticky hubs of interactive content, constantly changing and morphing based on the wants and needs of its visitors. Today, the technology that enables Web 2.0 is merely the vehicle, the transport mechanism from point A to point B. It is the user – those members of the particular web community – who ultimately drives the destination. Unfortunately, malicious software (malware) has also evolved. And just as technology has been replaced by users as the driving force behind web sites, the computer is no longer the ultimate target of the malware – it is the user that is the target. Today, malware is almost single-purposed: to gain access to the user’s private, financial, and confidential information. To gain that access, malware authors exploit the very thing that makes Web 2.0 so successful – the user’s trust. Modern Web sites bear little resemblance to their predecessors. Today’s websites feature dynamically changing content delivered through a steady stream of user contributions, RSS feeds and third-party advertising. Commerce is increasingly the goal, with a large portion of active sites engaged in affiliate relationships, direct sales, or some other form of monetary gain. Not only is the face of the
  • Landrovers for On Road Response Engineering Manual PDF
  • Landrover, by its very nature, is a market leader for off road use over every type of terrain in this country as well as abroad. It has been produced in short, medium and long wheelbase form with every conceivable body type imaginable. Its attributes are well respected across a wide spectrum of users ranging from the military to the farming community and the precedent it has set has been the envy of off road vehicle manufacturers the world over. Whilst the vehicle is of a robust and sturdy build, it is very heavy and sluggish in performance, which is the reason high and low gear ratios and differential locks were introduced to assist in its prime task – to be capable of ascending and descending most gradients over every type of eroded surface. That said, it is fair to say that the vehicle has not been developed and perfected with on road response capability in mind, and drivers using the Landrover to make progress will find it is not particularly suited to that task. The acceleration is slow, the turning circle wide and cumbersome and the general handling heavy and tiresome. For this reason, the speed limit set for the road will in most instances be the safe maximum limit for the vehicle and the vehicle should be driven under response conditions to those limitations accordingly. The East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Landrover pump is derived from the Landrover LWB TD 130 (130” wheelbase) chassis driven by the Turbo
