Download PDFCable Modem Router Model Number: U10C012 User's GuideYour new cable modem provides high-speed access to the Internet by an active Internet Connection through your cable service provider. This user guide describes how to set up and use the cable modem. Before installing the cable modem, you should read this user guide to ensure proper cable modem operation.
Understand the Cable Modem’s Features
Your cable modem has the following features to help you access and use the Internet:
• Two-way design allows the cable modem to send and receive data over the cable television network.
• Cable bandwidth allows data rates of up to 38 megabits per second (Mbps)*, which is faster than analog modems, integrated services digital network (ISDN), or asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL).
• Using your cable line means that the cable modem is always on, always connected, and does not tie up your phone line.
• Plug-and-play operation through universal serial bus (USB) ensures easy setup and installation.
• Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS?) compliance ensures interoperability with DOCSIS compliant cable operators.
*NOTE: Speeds may vary based on the following factors:
• Computer equipment including available RAM and processor speed
• Software applications utilizing your computer’s resources
• Network traffic depending on the time of day
• Limitations set by your Cable Service Provider

The programming interface we will learn also applies to other database engines, such as Oracle. We are using MySQL because it runs fast and is essentially free, so you can run it on your own machine at home if you desire.
1 Working by Hand
There are two main ways to work with a database. First, we will show how to work with it by hand. Second, we will show how to work with it from another program. In the long run, you will do most of your database work using another program that you will write, such as a CGI program. When you are debugging, or when you are doing one-time kinds of things like creating tables, working by hand can be a good solution.
1.1 Connect to the MySQL Server
Use this command (e.g., from cs.byuh.edu) to connect to MySQL.
mysql -p -h HHH -u UUU
Replace HHH with the host name. Replace UUU with your own username. When you are prompted for a password, type it in. Your instructor should tell you your hostname, username, and password. You will change your password later.
The -p tells mysql to prompt you for a password.
The -h tells mysql to what hostname to connect to.
The -u tells mysql what username to use.
1.2 How To Quit
Once you have successfully connected to the mysql server, you should see the following prompt:
mysql>
This means that the mysql server is waiting for you to enter a command. TheHow do I Apply the Microsoft Excel 2007 Analysis Toolpack Regression Chart Bug Workaround? There is a known issue in the Analysis ToolPak of Microsoft Excel 2007. The Regression tool in the Analysis ToolPak in Excel 2007 does not display residual and line fit plots correctly. For more information on this problem please see: http://itinfo.mit.edu/article.php?id=8494
This issue has been documented to Microsoft and a hotfix is currently being developed for release by the end of September 2007. In the meantime, a work around has been implemented for users who need to use the Regression Tool.
Step Procedure 1 Once a regression analysis is run, users will only see one residual plot for the first column of data. Any additional residual plots and all line fit plots will be missing (this is the bug; see picture below). The workaround involves an Excel Add-In that has been installed on all Haas Terminal Servers. The workaround installs a button called Fix Regression Charts which is located under the Data Analysis button on the Excel 2007 menu

A Microsoft Romania initiative aimed at driving technology access and adoption, ARK is designed as a comprehensive collection of tools and resources addressing both the development and design aspects of building software solutions. I had the chance to chat with Microsoft Romania's Todi Pruteanu about the ARK initiative, and the interview below will provide you with a great insight into the Academic Resource Kit.
1. Just to get started, please tell our readers who you are and what is your role at Microsoft.Pruteanu: My name is Todi Pruteanu, my role is Academic Developer Evangelist at Microsoft Romania for more than 4 years now.
2. What is the Academic Resource Kit and how does it benefit students today?Pruteanu: ARK is a set of powerful development and design tools plus useful educational resources, such as documentation, code samples, curriculum materials, and tutorials that demonstrate the value of the Microsoft platform in technical education. The result is a fully loaded DVD that we've produced in a quantity of 100,000. We have disseminated most of the copies during the summer and in back-to-school campaigns, especially in High Schools and Universities. The product is described on www.microsoft.ro/ark (in Romanian).
3. Please tell us a little about the background of the initiative. In what manner has it evolved since its introduction?Pruteanu: It all started with a couple of facts we have in mind.On one side, we needMazda First Service Intranet in Automotive Industry SummaryMazda needed to replace thousands of printed repair manual pages with easy-to-use, searchable electronic documentation. The Electronic Service Information intranet, a joint solution from Enigma and IBM, is single, centralized application for technicians to instantly access the latest service manuals and bulletins. Mazda has realized great service bay effectiveness leading to increased customer satisfaction.
Challenges: Move from Paper Manuals to Electronic Documentation
Mazda wanted to provide great customer service by improving the dealer service experience through more a efficient service process and a better fix-time fix rate. In order to accomplish this goal, Mazda needed to replace its printed repair manuals with a central, electronic solution for all of its dealerships.
Solution: Service Intranet for Quick Access to Critical Information
With a joint Parts & Service Information Solution from Enigma and IBM Global Services, Mazda delivers superior customer service by ensuring that its service personnel in the United States and Canada can accurately identify, diagnose and fix problems, as well as perform warranty and recall service.
Mazda’s Electronic Service Information intranet includes workshop manuals, service bulletins, repair instructions and training manuals in one Web-based application.
DownloadIntegrating Components with Visual Studio .NETVisual Studio .NET presents a great deal of information about controls and other components you use in the development environment. When you drag a compo- nent from the toolbox into your project, VS.NET appears to know everything about it—the events and properties it supports are displayed in the property panel, neatly categorized, with a short description available for each member. Some controls have their own unique interactive editing features. Many add extra items to Visual Studio .NET’s menus. You might suspect that this level of extensive and often highly specialized support is something that is available only for the built-in controls, but that is not the case. Visual Studio .NET has a very open architecture for allowing components to customize the way in which they integrate with the environment.
Basic Integration
To build components that exploit Visual Studio .NET’s integration facilities, you must understand the basic mechanisms involved. Component integration relies heavily on the .NET runtime’s reflection mechanism—the facility that allows type information to be examined at runtime. VS.NET uses reflection to discover what properties and events your component provides.
Strictly speaking, Visual Studio .NET doesn’t use reflection directly. It uses the TypeDescriptor class and its friends in the System. ComponentModel namespace. These provide a virtualized view of type information, which allows a component’s properties to be extended dynamically. The TypeDescriptor API is implemented using the reflection API however..

As a presenter, you can record audience feedback, make notes, add diagrams and save your work directly into your PowerPoint file or into Notebook™ software.
Before You Start
Before you begin your presentation, ensure your computer is turned on and the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is connected and oriented. The SMART Board icon should be visible in the Windows Notification Area at the bottom right of your screen, indicating that your SMART Board software is running. If the SMART Board icon is not visible, select Start > Programs > SMART Board Software > SMART Board Tools. The SMART Board icon will appear in the Windows Notification Area.
This Hands-On Practice assumes you have a basic understanding of the Microsoft Windows® operating system. You may find it useful to think of how you normally work with a computer as you go through the lesson. When working at your computer, for example, you use left-, right- or double-clicks, depending on the function you want to perform. Use the SMART Board interactive whiteboard in the same way. If you get confused, simply think about what you would do at your computer, and then replicate these actions on the interactive whiteboard.
