  • BF2 Single Player Editor Tutorial
  • This is for the benefit of newcomers to the modding scene to give them some insight into the BF2 editor and its features for changing gameplay objects and using the new single player tools. I will be showing you how to use the current navmesh area to set up your own custom playing areas and objects. This tutorial will focus on using the stock battlefield 2 map, "Songhua Stalemate." I'm currently navmeshing this map, so thought I would kill two birds with one stone :) We are going to make a complete backup of your BF2 directory. Go to mods/bf2 and copy and paste it. When that's finished you should have 'Copy of bf2' there. This is going to be your untouched multiplayer and backup version if you completely screw up your files playing around in the editor. Don't umm and ahh...trust me - DO IT. The reason I'm not getting you to setup your own mod directory is that there are a few complications in getting a custom mod working perfectly in the editor, whereas the bf2 mod folder is 100% supported. I chose this path to make it as simple as possible to work for the 'layman.' If you ever want to play online just rename the bf2 folder we are modding to something like - "bf2_modding" and rename the 'Copy of bf2' back to its original 'bf2' name. Easy. • Programming with the Zope 3 Component Architecture
  • This tutorial provides a short introduction to developing with Zope 3. It provides an example of creating a content objects and associated views, adapters, and utilities. The skills learned here are applied in most facets of Zope 3 development. We Zope to be much more approachable to Python programmers. You should be able to use existing Python objects in Zope with few changes. We want developers to be able to learn Zope a little bit at a time. We provide greater support for reuse through components. Let's look at a minimal class that is usable in Zope. As an example, we'll use objects that manage personal information. We normally organize our software into packages. We can put our packages anywhere, as long as they are in Zope's Python path. We'll create a buddydemo package in the src directory, which is in the Python path. We create an empty __init__.py file in buddydemo, so that Python will treat buddydemo as a package. We'll create a buddy.py module to hold our class, named Buddy. The class is very simple. It stores information in attributes. It provides a single method that combines the first and last name. There are no Zope- specific mix- in classes. We do subclass Persistent. Doing so makes our life easier, because then Zope will manage our data in its object database. We don't have to subclass Persistent. If we don't though, we need to manage our data some other way (e.g. in a relational database). Here are some pointers you might want
  • Jeopardy in Web 2.0
  • What on earth is Web 2.0? Web 2.0 carries a high profile and surrounding hype. Developers must surely be feeling the heat to quickly adopt the new second generation of dynamic, interactive and simple by design technologies. Web 2.0 is the term pioneered by O’Reilly for new generation Web applications.Live.com, start.com, Google maps, Google Docs, YouTube, Flickr, and MySpace are few examples. Adaptation of this technology vector has changed the web application development approach and methodology significantly.AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript), RIA(Rich Internet Applications) and Web Services form the core components of Web 2.0applications. AJAX delivers a rich user interface by displaying more dynamic content. Another common technique is Real Simple Syndications feeds (RSS), an XML based standard that allows subscribers to promote information feeds. This is most commonly used to subscribe to blogs and news articles. AJAX and Rich Internet Application (RIA) clients are enhancing client-end interfaces in the browser itself. XML is making a significant impact at both presentation and transport (HTTP/HTTPS) layers. To some extent XML is replacing HTML at the presentation layer while SOAP is becoming the XML-based transport mechanism of choice. With Web 2.0, the functionality and experience of the sites become the primary focus, and the technology empowering the dynamic content is hidden behind the scenes to the average user. Yet the web applications underneath the polished finish remain just as complex, and add a variety of new and often unproven or unsecured technologies to the back end. Worms like Spaceflash, Yamanner and Samy are exploiting “client-side” AJAX frameworks,

  • Test Drive 6 - Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC Guide
  • Test Drive 6 is the last twitch of a dying breed: the arcade races. Everyone wants super realism and car crashes that defy the common sense and on top of that, what little market was left for this genre it was completely taken by the NFS series. We also have to admit that the last Test Drive wasn’t the real competitor we expected it to be so it was pretty easy for it to get lost in the shadows. Here are some cheats to remind you of those old times. Cheat mode: Enter one of the following names to activate the corresponding cheat function. All cars - DFGY All tracks - ERDRTH All quick race tracks - CVCVBM No quick race tracks - OCVCVBM Shorter tracks - QTFHYF All challenges - OPIOP No challenges - OPOIOP Disable checkpoint times - FFOEMIT Enable checkpoint times again - NOEMIT Stop The Bomber mode - RFGTR $6,000,000 - AKJGQ Honda bike - Honda XR Stop The Bomber mode (alternate): Catch all the speeders on the Paris, Rome, New York, Hong Kong and London tracks in cop chase mode. Stay on track: When you are going around a sharp corner at high speeds, you will often go off of the track and lose speed and risk of losing your place in the race. To prevent this, simply let off the gas completely at the middle of the corner until you start to skid. Do not panic. When you start to skid, accelerate again and you
  • Statistical Seismology Library Users Guide
  • The Statistical Seismology Library (SSLib) is a collection of earthquake hypocentral catalogues and R functions to analyse the catalogues. The analyses include graphical data displays, fitting of point process models, estimation of fractal dimensions, and rou- tines to apply the M8 Algorithm to given datasets. The Statistical Seismology Library is written in the R language, and consist of a number of R packages. Each package has its own Users Manual that contains documentation for all functions within that package. This Users Guide contains a sequence of examples, showing how the functions can be implemented and how they are related to each other. The guide is divided into three parts. The first part gives an introduction to the R language, emphasising those features that are important for an understanding of SSLib. In the second part, examples are given for each package in SSLib, showing how the functions are related to each other. The third section is more technical, and really relates to system administration: installation of software, software modification, and inclusion of local earthquake catalogues. Contributions to SSLib have been made by: Ray Brownrigg, Edwin Choi, Robert Davies, Michael Eglinton, David Harte, Dongfeng Li, Alistair Merrifield, Andrew Toke-ley, David Vere-Jones, Wenzheng Yang, Leon Young, Irina Zhdanova and Jiancang Zhuang. Ray Brownrigg translated the original S-PLUS code (Harte, 1998), where necessary, into R and packaged the various library parts into R packages. Like S-PLUS (Statistical Sciences Inc., 1992), R is a statistical programming language (R Development Core Team, 2003) based on the S language (see

  • Using Microsoft Word’s Annotation Tools: Mac OS X
  • Microsoft Word has several tools that allow users to annotate a document electronically. In this workshop, we will practice using the tools for tracking changes within a document, highlighting text, and adding comments. At the end of this document are instructions for using the more advanced annotation features, comparing two documents and merging changes from two documents into a single document. Feel free to practice using those tools on your own time with the exercises provided. Before using the more advanced annotation features of Word, take some time to familiarize yourself with the workspace. As with many software programs, you can customize the workspace view with the tools you use most often. For the purposes of this workshop, we will review the location and purpose of the commonly used tools. Download pdf Using Microsoft Word’s Annotation Tools: Mac OS X
