A student guide to the Global Positioning System T H E A E R O S P A C E C O R P O R A T I O N The Sky's the Limit The men and women who created the Global Positioning System, more commonly known as GPS, were once young people like you. Each had a special interest in the marvelous order of mathematics and the physical laws affecting all of our lives. By puuing caree in science or engineering, they were able to develop a remarkable navigation system that can tell you exactly where you are on Earth at any time of day or night and in any type of weather. This booklet was developed by The Aerospace Corporation to help you undetand GPS and how it works. If you are interested in an exciting career in navigation or a related field, we encourage you to study mathematics and science in junior high and high school.

This guide provides a detailed description of this API.
Amazon Inventory Management API provides a secure and automated method to upload inventory and manage orders on Amazon.com Marketplace, or on Seller Central for upgraded accounts. Sellers can use the API to execute the following operations:
• Upload Inventory
• Generate and download Order Reports
• Issue Bulk Refunds
• Generate and download Open Listings Reports
• Query status of uploads and reports
These APIs can be accessed by using HTTPS POST requests and the results are returned as XML responses.
The APIs are available via a standard HTTPS interface and utilize the underlying SSL protocol for secure transmission of data. The identity of the seller will be verified using the HTTP Basic Authentication Scheme. The seller will provide his or her e-mail address and password in the HTTPS header, encoded using base64. For example, the user name "Aladdin" and password "open sesame" would be combined as "Aladdin:open sesame"
– which is equivalent to QWxhZGRpbjpvcGVuIHNlc2FtZQ== when encoded in base-64 [7 bit]. This is provided as an HTTP header that looks like the following:
Authorization: Basic QWxhZGRpbjpvcGVuIHNlc2FtZQ==

Inside the ACL message, I is represented as a content expression consistent with a proper content language (e.g. SL) and encoded in a proper format (e.g. string). Both A and B have their own (possibly different) way of internally representing I. Taking into account that the way an agent internally represents a piece information must allow an easy handling of that piece of information, it is quite clear that the representation used in an ACL content expression is not suitable for the inside of an agent.
For example the information that there is a person whose name is Giovanni and who is 33 years old in an ACL content expression could be represented as the string (Person :name Giovanni :age 33) Storing this information inside an agent simply as a string variable is not suitable to handle the information as e.g. getting the age of Giovanni would require each time to parse the string. Considering software agents written in Java (as JADE agents are), information can conveniently be represented inside an agent as Java objects. For example representing the above information about Giovanni as an instance (a Java object) of an application-specific class

DownloadThe Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine PDFWe present Google, a prototype of a large-scale search engine which makes heavy use of the structure present in hypertext. Google is designed to crawl and index the Web efficiently and produce much more satisfying search results than existing systems. The prototype with a full text and hyperlink database of at least 24 million pages is available at http://google.stanford.edu/ To engineer a search engine is a challenging task. Search engines index tens to hundreds of millions of web pages involving a comparable number of distinct terms. They answer tens of millions of queries every day. Despite the importance of large-scale search engines on the web, very little academic research has been done on them. Furthermore, due to rapid advance in technology and web proliferation, creating a web search engine today is very different from three years ago.
This paper provides an in-depth description of our large-scale web search engine — the first such detailed public description we know of to date. Apart from the problems of scaling traditional search techniques to data of this magnitude, there are new technical challenges involved with using the additional information present in hypertext to produ e better search results. This paper addresses this question of how to build a practical large-scale system which can exploit the additional information present in hypertext. Also we look at the problem of how to effectively deal with uncontrolled hypertext collections where anyone can publish anything they want.
