Setting Options and Customising Microsoft Excel 2002Like all Microsoft Office products, Excel allows you to customise various settings to suit your own requirements. Whereas Microsoft Word has a default template called normal.dot, Excel has a special file called Excel.xlb in which your settings are stored. Note that not all settings are stored here, however - for example, each file has its own colour palette.
Perhaps the most useful customisation centres around the toolbars and menus. You can decide which toolbars to display (and where you would like them positioned on the screen). If you want to, you can remove, add or rearrange the buttons on a toolbar (or the commands in a menu). You can even create your own toolbars and menus, adding either built-in commands or your own (using macros - see Writing Macros in Microsoft Excel 2003 for further information).
Another common area of customisation concerns charts. You can create your own chart types and change the palette of colours used on charts. Defining your own types lets you apply a given layout to a set of charts - eg for a particular publication or thesis. While on the subject of colours, you can also modify the default colour palette used for fonts and filling cells.
A further aspect of customisation centres around customised lists. A few lists are built into the system (eg the days of the week and months of the year) but you can create your own. This tool enables non-programmers to build computational and visualization networks interactively. Computational nodes can be placed onto a canvas and their input and output ports can be connected using the mouse. The connections between the nodes define a directed graph that will be used to propagate data and trigger the execution of nodes that have new input data. ViPEr is, in appearance, similar to programs such as AVS [Upson et al. 89] from Advanced Visual Simulations Inc, or OpenDX [DX 93] from IBM, but presents some fundamental differences which will be pointed out throughout this paper. Several examples of applications will be used to illustrate ViPEr’s design and current range of capabilities.
The focus of our laboratory is the modelisation of molecular interactions. We are working on several aspects of this problem, including molecular visualization, protein-ligand docking, protein- protein docking, molecular surfaces, phenomenological potentials, etc. The methods we use in our models come from fields as diverse as computational chemistry and biology, computational geometry and augmented reality. We have been using Python as a platform to develop re-usable and inter- operable components dealing with different aspects of structural bioinformatics [Sanner 99a, Coon et al. 01, Python at TSRI]. These components are the basic building blocks from which several domain specific applications have been developed. This adapter is fixed onto the stock shift actuator and the shift cable is attached to the adapter rather than the actuator. The new point of attachment is placed closer to the pivot or fulcrum of the actuator thus reducing the distance the shifter (inside the car) must move in order to engage a gear.
Step 1: Remove the four bolts which secure the airbox to the chassis.
Step 2: Unclip the MAF from the intake tube and remove the rubber tube connected to the air box. Then remove the airbox from the vehicle.
Step 3: Remove the cotter pin that secures the shift cable to the shift actuator.
Step 4: Remove the shift cable from the old shift cable mounting point.
Step 5: Using the following diagram, place the TWM Performance Short Throw Shift Adapter onto the shift actuator.
