Please note that AutoCAD can be made to do things by choosing tools or tasks from the menus, or issuing commands on the AutoCAD commandline. This document will use the command line wherever possible because the menus may change between versions of AutoCAD. In addition, clones of AutoCAD will look and feel different, but often implement the same commands.
Personal Profile (acad14.cfg)
AutoCAD takes its basic configuration from a file acad14.cfg. Each user has their own version of this file in:

If this file becomes corrupted AutoCAD will fail to start, or start then crash horribly. The file can become corrupted because you have chosen inappropriate options in Tools
Preferences or just because it is one of those things that happen. Deleting the configuration files:...
Download pdf Using AutoCAD on the PWFSwitching Office Suites from Microsoft Office to OpenOffice.orgYou've been thinking about it for a while. You've seen the PDF converter and sighed longingly; you've blushed before the skeptical glances of your open-source and anti-Microsoft friends who say "You're still using Microsoft Office?" you're looking at your budget and wondering why you would pay to get Microsoft Office 2007. And you've received Word 2007 files and haven't been able to open them, so you know there's going to be some file format issues no matter what you do.
But you haven't switched over to OpenOffice.org. Quite yet. I'm here to help. Think of this as a virtual guide, the written version of me coming over to your house on a Sunday afternoon to help get to know OpenOffice.org and figure out all the things you're not quite sure about. Sit down with this article this weekend and in a few hours you'll feel refreshed, open sourced, and able to hold your head high when you run into those roving gangs of open source supporters.
Why Switch?
You have your own reasons: price, or principles, or you're setting up a nice cheap Linux laptop for your daughter to use at school. Here are a couple things I like to talk about.
Spend your money on something important
I realize that since I'm targeting this article at individuals, that the upgrade or full price of Microsoft Office might not make or break you. But if it's you and your family; your small business; your volunteer organization that feeds homeless families...now you even more seriously needMicrosoft Volt to Adding Supplementary Plane Characters to a FontVOLT is a free tool available from www.microsoft.com/typography. It is mainly designed to add OpenType features to a font but can also be used to add characters in the supplementary planes, which some font editors cannot yet do. This article focuses on adding the characters beyond the BMP. Unfortunately, VOLT is not available for any platform other than Windows.
Important background information: VOLT uses glyph IDs as the basis for all its operations. A glyph ID is simply a number that tells where in the font the character is found (first, tenth, fifti- eth, whatever). It has nothing to do with a character’s Unicode value or any other meaningful characteristic; it just uniquely identifies each glyph in the font. Such glyph IDs are a part of any TrueType font and are created for you by your font editor. VOLT also stores information in special additional tables that are not part of a standard TT font; these tables allow you to save the font, test it, and return to edit your work. These tables are removed as the last step in creating a finished font.
If you are using FontLab, you need to understand under what circumstances glyph IDs are changed. FL provides many different ways to display the characters in a font: by Unicode value, by name, by glyph ID, etc. You can switch the display around as much as you like; the position of a character in the actual font database (and therefore the glyph ID) is not altered unless youAudi A2 Quick Reference Guide ManualThe engine switches itself off after a few seconds if you stop the vehicle and leave your foot on the foot-brake. The engine starts again and the vehicle will start moving as soon as you release the foot-brake. The engine will not switch itself off if it is still cold, or if too many items of electrical equipment are in use. Reduced engine power Engine power is reduced to 30 kW (except when using the kick-down feature).
Freewheel feature (reduced engine braking) The clutch is disengaged automatically when you take your foot off the accelerator while the vehicle is moving. This means the engine braking effect is minimal. The clutch will engage again when you press the footbrake, so the normal engine braking effect is then available. Audi A2 Owner’s Manual.

Drive Configurations You may install Yellow Dog Linux as a stand-alone operating system,or you may install both OSX and Yellow Dog Linux. You may have 1 or more drives independent of the number of operating systems installed.
If you do have 2 or more drives,1 for YDL and the second drive for OSX,it is advised that the Yellow Dog Linux drive be placed first in the ATA,SCSI,or Firewire chain (at the time of this writing,USB drives are not supported as targets for the installer). To install OSX and Yellow Dog Linux on a single drive, you will require a minimum of two primary partitions.Unless your drive is already configured as such, you must either boot from the OSX CD,reformat, then reinstall OSX (using the Drive Setup application)or use a 3rd party,non-destructive partitioning tool prior to installing Linux. Be certain to back-up all important OSX applications and data before working with any partitioning tool or reformatting your drive. PREPARATION Single Drive,Multi-Boot System You are now going to use Apple’s Drive Setup application to format and partition your drive. Please note that this procedure completely reformats and DESTROYS ALL DATA on your drive. For full details, we refer you to Rod Johnson’s book, Expert One-on-One J2EE Design and Development, published by Wrox Press in 2002. The book’s ISBN number is 1-86100-784-1. The code for the Spring Framework is contained in package com.interface21. We provide UML diagrams for the subpackages, as well as code samples.
1.1 Setting up for the samples
The samples have been written using the MySQL database (www.mysql.com), Tomcat (jakarta.apache.org/tomcat) and JBoss(www.jboss.org). We refer you to these web sites for setting up the environment correctly. In MySQL, create a database named test, a user test with password test, and grant user test all rights: grant all on test.* to test@localhost identified by ’test’; If you use a different database, read the comments at the top of the samples files, they will direct you to the spots in the code you will have to change for your database.
1.2 Building the tutorials
The tutorials can be built using the provided Ant script (you can get ant at http://jakarta.apache.org/ant). You may need to edit the build.properties file to set paths correctly for your system.
1.3 Running the tutorials
We provide a shell script, runtest.sh, and a batch file, runtest.bat, for running a single tutorial. You may need to edit these files to set the paths correctly.

A dynamic bounds checker detects buffer overruns in erroneous software before it occurs and thereby prevents attacks from corrupting the integrity of the system. Dynamic buffer overrun detectors have not been adopted widely because they either (1) cannot guard against all buffer overrun attacks (2) break existing code or (3) incur too high an overhead. This paper presents a practical detector called CRED (C Range Error Detector) that avoids each of these defeciencies.
CRED finds all buffer overrun attacks as it directly checks for the bounds of memory accesses. Unlike the original referent-object based bound-checking technique, CRED does not break existing cde because it uses a novel solution to support program manipulation of out-of-bounds addresses. Finally, by restricting the bounds checks to strings in a program, CRED’s overhead is greatly reduced without sacrificing protection in the experiments we performed.
