Create Ajax-style architectures with the IBM Web 2.0 Feature PackThis article shows you how a Java™ 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application was enhanced with an Ajax-style architecture by using the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server Feature Pack for Web 2.0. Learn how to combine Ajax-style architectures with an existing application without having to rewrite the entire Web application. You'll also discover some ideas on how to apply the Web 2.0 Feature Pack to your own J2EE applications for IBM WebSphere Application Server. The "Plants by WebSphere" application is among a number of samples that are provided with the IBM WebSphere Application Server Feature Pack for Web 2.0.
The application exemplifies a typical J2EE application and how it can be enhanced with an Ajax-style architecture without rewriting the entire application. The sample application represents a fictitious online plant store where customers can order and purchase flowers, trees, vegetables, and accessories. Take a look at Figure 1, which shows the front page of the Web application
Figure 2 illustrates the architecture of the application in its original form before attempting to add Ajax-style features. The architecture is intended to be fairly typical for a J2EE application running on WebSphere Application Server. At a high level, the application adheres to a Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern, which most Web applications follow on some level. A browser accesses the URL for the application, which returns a JSP-rendered HTML page. The browser issues additional requests to the Web application, and servlets are used to control the flow as users move through the purchase request. My favourite Windows-based GUI is called DBManager, and is available from www.dbtools.com.br. This tutorial assumes you have read and followed my two earlier tutorials, on installing Apache and PHP, and on installing MySQL.
Downloading DBManager
After finding the www.dbtools.com.br site, and selecting either Portuguese or English, you need to find the Download link. There is only a free version available at the moment, so follow that link. You will be asked for a few bits of personal information, before you get to the download page.
Installing DBManager
Just locate where you downloaded the file and double-click. It installs quickly. Just note that the database server must be installed before DBManager. It should also be noted that DBManager will control PostgreSQL as well as MySQL databases.

Social Networking is best defined as the regular interaction of people for some common cause. Of course there is really nothing new about social networking, and it’s something many of us do every day offline, especially in schools or in the workplace. But as a marketing trend this concept is growing more and more popular online. This is because unlike most high schools, colleges, or workplaces, the Internet is filled with millions of individuals who are looking to meet other Internet users and develop both business and personal relationships.
There are many portals for social networking on the web. Social networking websites are pretty much communities of Internet users that can range from small and tightly focused portals to enormous groups of people who all have different backgrounds and interests. So a Web 2.0 resource, or social networking site can exist on the basis of anything from hobbies, religion, education, business, or politics. And the idea behind getting involved in such a site is to meet new people who fit into one of two categories:
1. People who have something you need.
2. People who need something you have.
There’s a little more to it than this of course but the above two categories basically sum up the entire purpose of participating in social networking and Web 2.0 systems. It oozes self confidence and style. In typical Gallic fashion it simply says “I’m here if you want me” if you don’t it shrugs its shoulders, knowing you will give it a second look. The 407 Coupé is the prince of the 407 range. The playboy prince with the good looks, charm and cheekiness. Well maybe that’s a bit extreme. In reality this car turns heads, makes the driver and passengers feel good. And it performs. Which makes the Coupé a bit of a conundrum in its own right. This is a car that is capable of well over 220kph (140mph+) and yet returns remarkable fuel efficiency.
The twin turbo motor is almost indistinguishable from the petrol sister apart from the rev counter red lined at 4,500rpm. And the remarkable torque. The petrol version can rev some 2500rpm more than the diesel. And yet the diesel Coupé is just as quick. Who will buy the 407 Coupé? Executives, and others, who wish to display a combination of brains, financial acumen and taste. With Coupé you get the lot. It will also sell to discerning private buyers; those who want some fun in their motoring. 407 Coupé should sell well. Its looks and performance should see to that. The BA model Falcon represents an investment by Ford in the order of $500 million. The new models offer comprehensive styling, powertrain, suspension, interior and safety related changes, and look set to challenge Holden for sales supremacy in the family car class.
The styling of the new Falcon is a big improvement over the superseded AU series; however, perhaps the most significant upgrade has taken place beneath the skin of the Falcon. Ford has introduced a range of new engine options in the Falcon that includes a 4.0 litre double overhead camshaft (DOHC) six cylinder engine, a turbocharged version of the six and a new 5.4 litre V8 engine. The new engines deliver significantly more power and torque, and thereby offering improved performance across the board for all models in the Falcon range.
The new 5.4 litre V8 engine comes from Ford’s Windsor plant in Canada and is available in a number of different configurations. The standard V8 engine is called the Barra 220. It is a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine with three valves per cylinder that develops 220 kW of power and 470 Nm of torque. The engine that powers the XR8 evaluated for this report is a more potent DOHC unit that features four valves per cylinder. Designated the Boss 260, this engine produces a veryAudi TT Service Manual 2000-2006 PDFAudi TT Service Manual: 2000-2006. Where Will Vista SP1 and XP SP3 Fit?Traditionally, Microsoft's core business has been focused on the Windows platform and the Office suite. Windows and Office, by all means, continue to be the heart of Microsoft. The latest versions of the flagship products, Windows Vista and the Office 2007 System, made available to the public at the end of January 2007, have fueled the vast majority of the company's most recent fiscal second quarter record financial results of $16.37 billion in revenue, and $6.48 billion in operating income. With Office SP1 out of the way at the end of 2007, Microsoft is currently building Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows 7 client platforms, as well as putting the finishing touches on Windows Server 2008.
But on February 1st, 2008, the Redmond company managed to steal the show away from its flagship products with the $44.6 billion cash and stock unsolicited acquisition proposal directed at Yahoo. Enjoying a continual near-monopoly on the desktop with Windows and Office, and pushing hard on the server side with the new lineup of Windows Server, SQL Server, ISS7 and PHP against Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, and with the entertainment division starting to pick up steam, Microsoft is now turning to the Internet. In the Cloud, the Redmond company is the indisputable underdog. And with the rival Internet giant from Mountain View hugging the online advertising and search engine markets, Microsoft is now doing a tad of hugging itself: bear hugging. Microsoft has been looking to acquire Yahoo
