  • The isometric view rules again Commandos 2: Men of Courage is regarded by many (including myself) the best squad strategy in the entire series, even better than the last attempt. It mattered not that it was only 2D and that it was built entirely on sprites, the felling of accomplishment and the variations has turned this game in a must have for any gamer. This is one of the few games that can appeal to most players, even if some of them might prefer specific genres like first person shooter or simple strategies. • Wire Rigging Cartoon Ribbon Models in Maya
  • The following process was used to create a custom rig to study the conformational morphs of the HIV gp120 receptor as it binds CD4. A cartoon model can first be generated in Pymol, VMD or Chimera, exported as VRML and then converted to OBJ for import into Maya. 1. Clean the model. Use the Polygon “extract faces” tool to separate all of the main parts into individual parts: Beta Arrows, strands, and Helices. 2. Merge the vertices of each new part and delete history. Also rename the parts now if required. 3. Draw curves on the surfaces. Make each surface “live” by clicking the icon that looks like a magnet while the object is selected. Only one object can be made live at a time. Place a CV at just about every ring in the strand tube to achieve a balanced deformation. This will end up being your initial confirmation state curve. 4. Import the final confirmation state geometry. And make it live and perform the same task as above. However you don’t have to break it up or clean this geometry, it will be deleted. 5. You should have a beginning (yellow) curve for the initial confirmation state and a final (blue) curve for the final confirmation state. With almost the same number of CVs in them... • Adobe Illustrator CS4 Programmer's Guide
  • A plug-in is a library that extends or changes the behavior of Illustrator. On Windows, a plug-in is built as a DLL (dynamic-link library). On Macintosh, a plug-in is built as a bundle that contains a shared library. The plug-in architecture in Illustrator is very powerful. Plug-ins have access to Illustrator’s elegant vector, text, and raster engines, as well as Illustrator’s user interface. The API is a fundamental part of the application; in fact, most of Illustrator itself is implemented as plug-ins. You can create plug-ins that add new tools to the drawing, shading, and raster tools already in Illustrator. Plug-ins can turn Illustrator into a powerful CAD, cartographic, or other custom design application. Users can add or remove plug-ins to quickly and easily customize Illustrator to their needs. The Illustrator API offers several benefits to plug-in developers. Because Illustrator handles large application tasks like printing and saving files, you can concentrate on the implementation of your plug-in’s unique features. Plug-ins do not need to support undo or window updating; these are handled by the API and are invisible to the plug-in. This translates into shorter development cycles. Your plug-in also can take advantage of Adobe Dialog Manager (ADM), a cross-platform, user-interface API. Plug-ins that use ADM floating panels are completely integrated with Illustrator; the panels can be docked, undocked, and controlled as if they were built into Illustrator. • How to Open Microsoft Office 2007 Files
  • You may already know that along with Office 2007, Microsoft introduced a new file format that is not compatible with older versions of Office. If you haven’t upgraded to Office 2007 or are using Mac OSX then you won’t be able to automatically open Word documents that carry the .docx extension or PowerPoint Presentations (.pptx). If you are using an older version of Office in Windows and attempt to open a .docx or .pptx file, you may be prompted with a message to install the Microsoft Compatibly Pack (which you should do) or you could get an error message. On a Mac, a .docx file will show up as a .zip file that you won’t be able to open in Word. This means that an instructor using Office 2003 could have trouble opening a Word 2007 document that a student submits in Blackboard. For file sharing between Office 2007 and older versions, one solution is for the Office 2007 user to save documents as compatible .doc or .ppt formats. Understandably, it might not always be convenient to request that an Office 2007 user resave all of the documents they’ve sent you. If you are using an older version of Office and need to open or convert .docx or .pptx files then you have the option to install Microsoft’s Compatibility Pack, File Format Converter for Mac, or Word or PowerPoint Viewers. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Windows Installing the Compatibility Pack will enable Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, and Office 2003 users to be

  • A Real Time Clock Correcting Program For MS-DOS-Based Computer Systems
  • A computer program is described which efictively eliminates the misgivings of the DOS system clock in PCIAT-chs computers. MS DOS Interrupts ebook RighTime is a small, sophisticated memory-residenf program that automatuaUg corrects both the DVS system clock and the hardware “CMOS” real time clock (RTC) in real time. RighTime learns what corrections are required without operator inkeractwn beyond the o c c a s i o ~ laccurate time set. Both wann (power on) and cool (power ofn errors are corrected, usually yielding beiter than one part per million accuracy in the typiecrl desktop computer with no additional hardware, and RighTime increases the system clock resolution from approximately 0.0549 second to 0.01 second. Program tools are also available which aUow visuali&n MS DOS Interrupts of RighTime’s adwns, verification of its performance, display of its history log, and whiclr provide data for graphing of the system clock behavior. • Data Structures Using C
  • A string is a group of characters, usually letters of the alphabet. In order to format your printout in such a way that it looks nice, has meaningful titles and names, and is aesthetically pleasing to you and the people using the output of your program, you need the ability to output text data. We have used strings extensively already, without actually defining them. A complete definition of a string is ‘a sequence of char type data terminated by a NULL character,’. When C is going to use a string of data in some way, either to compare it with another, output it, copy it to another string, or whatever, the functions are set up to do what they are called to do until a NULL character (which is usually a character with a zero ASCII code number) is detected. You should also recall (from Module 813: Fundamental Programming Structures in C) that the char type is really a special form of integer – one that stores the ASCII code numbers which represent characters and symbols. An array (as we shall discover shortly) is a series of homogeneous pieces of data that are all identical in type. The data type can be quite complex as we will see when we get to the section of this module discussing structures. A string is simply a special case of an array, an array of char type data. The best way to see these principles is by use of an example [CHRSTRG.C] Download pdf Data Structures
  • Specifying, Discovering, and Monitoring Service Flows: Making Web Services Process-Aware
  • Web services, an emerging paradigm for architecting and implementing business collaborations within and across organizational boundaries, are currently of interest to both software vendors and scientists. In this paradigm, the functionality provided by business applications is encapsulated within web services: software components described at a semantic level, which can be invoked by application programs or by other services through a stack of Internet standards including HTTP, XML, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI [3,18]. Once deployed, web services provided by various organizations can be inter-connected in order to implement business collaborations, leading to composite web services. Today workflow management systems are readily available [6,49,59] and workflow technology is hidden in many applications, e.g., ERP, CRM, and PDM systems. However, their application is still limited to specific industries such as banking and insurance. Since 2000 there has been a growing interest in web services. This resulted in a stack of Internet standards (HTTP, XML, SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI) which needed to be complemented by a process layer. Several vendors proposed competing languages, e.g., IBM proposed WSFL (Web Services Flow Language) [48] building on FlowMark/MQSeries and Microsoft proposed XLANG (Web Services for Business Process Design) [71] building on Biztalk. BPEL [16] emerged as a compromise between both languages. The Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS, or BPEL for short) has become the de-facto standard for implementing processes based on web services [16]. Systems such as Oracle BPEL Process Manager, IBM WebSphere Application Server Enterprise, IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition, and Microsoft BizTalk
