Download PDFShare, Collaborate, Exploit Defining Mobile Web 2.0The mercurial rise of social networking sites and user-generated content has rekindled users’ interest in accessing Web-based services on the move. That the mobile phone is an inherently personal device which is not only with us most of the time, but also contains a huge amount of personal data (contact lists of names and phone numbers, stored messages and emails etc.) makes it a logical extension for the social network and the host of other collaborative Web 2.0 applications gaining traction.
Perhaps the major factors driving the shift in how the Internet operates – whether fixed or mobile – are those of user interaction and enhancement. The Web is no longer simply an online resource of information to be consulted, searched and acted upon. It has become a network of social communities and information databases that are constantly growing and improving as they continue to harness the collective intelligence of users. It could therefore be argued that whereas Web 1.0 served essentially as a broadcast medium (i.e. of information/knowledge) ‘Web 2.0’ takes the form of a platform whereby the creator of content, has become the focus.
Defining Mobile Web 2.0
Difficulty in establishing a firm and accepted definition, plus the fact that many of Web 2.0’s core concepts cannot be replicated directly within the cellular environment, is paralleled in a similar debate on what exactly denotes Mobile Web 2.0. Whilst it is possible to identify common themes between an Internet- based and mobile Web-based application, the exact features or functionality that makes eitherWebMessenger for Skype User Guide ManualWebMessenger for Skype supports messaging, presence and phone calls from / to Skype users, available to the WebMessenger mobile IM clients. A recent OFCOM report (OFCOM, 2008) demonstrated that 22% of adults in the UK had registered with a social networking site (the figure is highest for 16-24 year olds and decreases with age). Facebook is, at present, the most visited social networking site and has over 130 million active users (Facebook, 2008a). This article shares the experiences of University of Wolverhampton’s pilot project into the use of Facebook pages for academic libraries.
During 2007, we noticed that many of our students using PCs in the University of Wolverhampton Learning Centres were regular visitors of Facebook. Each member of the University is given a University e-mail address as well as access to our VLE, but from talking to students, I found that some were choosing to use Facebook as the platform to communicate with their cohort and organise group work.
Academic staff had also started to use Facebook, mainly as a forum for social interaction within their classes but also as a way for students to communicate with them. Some libraries had been using Facebook to set up a profile for the library. However, Facebook regulations permitted this (profiles should be for individuals only) and many were closed. In November 2007, Facebook began Facebook Pages which is designed for businesses and organisations (including libraries) to create a presence. By creating a Facebook page rather than a profile, other Facebook members can become a “fan” and be sent updates via Facebook.Lynn Allen’s Tips and Tricks For Using AutoCAD 2008 SoftwareNew D Workspace
If you are using only 2D AutoCAD ® commands, why not use the new 2D Drafting & Annotation workspace? This capability displays powerful 2D tools on the Dashboard.
D Dashboard Control Panels
New 2D control panels provide easy access to layers and include controls for annotation scaling, text, dimensions, multiple leaders, tables, 2D navigation commands, object properties, and block attributes. When you select a tool from the Dashboard, the corresponding tool palette also displays, where applicable.
Tool Palettes
When you drag geometry to an inactive tool palette, it is automatically activated for easy placement—just give it an extra second to switch.
• A new Specify Image option on the shortcut menu makes it easy to assign an image to any tool.
• The location of tools on a tool palette is now saved in the tool catalog (and the profile), making it easier to share your tool palettes with others and maintain the same look and feel.
• Use TPNAVIGATE to set a tool palette current at the command line (for programming purposes).
Clean Screen
Use the Clean Screen button located in the lower-right corner of the screen to turn off everything except for the status and menu bars and the command window. This feature comes in handy when showing files to a client and you need to quickly clean up your interface.

Take out the two screws circled red, they are the only thing that holds the lights in place. Now when you have removed the screws, you need to push the light in the blue arrow direction (opposite direction on the other headlight) so you can pull out a ball head screw out of its holder. If it doesn’t go out easy, take a look where the yellow arrow points (in the corner of the wing) and you will see the ball head screw. Spray it with a bit of WD40 or some silicone spray so it can come out easily. Now push/hit the head light out of it.
After you have done that, disconnect all connectors that are attached to the headlight. Now take the headlight off.
After you have done that you will need two connectors or do something similar / same as what I have written to connect the position lights of the marea lights. This is the connector you need. Or you can use female speaker clamps like these. The next step is to get a wire, it must have two conducts that are in different colors or speaker wires with the red line on one of the cables. So you can distinguish the wires. Required length: ca. 40/50 cm, or use more if you want.
