The engine switches itself off after a few seconds if you stop the vehicle and leave your foot on the foot-brake. The engine starts again and the vehicle will start moving as soon as you release the foot-brake. The engine will not switch itself off if it is still cold, or if too many items of electrical equipment are in use.
