  • Mercedes-Benz ML 320 SE 420 SEL 500 SEL Operator’s Manual
  • The more cautiously you treat your vehicle during the break-in period, the more satisfied you will be with its performance later on. Therefore, drive your vehicle during the first 1500 km (1000 miles) at moderate vehicle and engine-speeds. During this period, avoid heavy loads (full throttle driving) and high RPM (no more than 2/3 of maximum permissible speed in each gear as indicated on the speedometer). Avoid accelerating by kickdown. It is not recommended to brake the vehicle by manually shifting to a lower gear. We recommend to select positions “3? or “2?only at moderate speeds (for hill driving). After 1000 miles (1500 km) speeds may be gradually increased to the permissible maximum Maintenance We strongly recommend that you have your vehicle serviced by your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, in accordance with the Maintenance Booklet. Failure to have the vehicle maintained in accordance with the Maintenance Booklet may result in vehicle damage not covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty. Radio Transmitters Warning! Never operate radio transmitters equipped with a built-in or attached antenna (i.e. without the telephone connected to an external antenna) from inside the vehicle while the engine is running. Doing so could lead to a malfunction of the vehicle’s electronic system, possibly resulting in an accident and personal injury. Radio transmitters, such as a portable telephone or a citicens band unit should only be used inside the passenger compartment, if they are connected to a Mercedes-Benz approved antenna that is installed on the outside of the vehicle. • Feed Injection in Web 2.0 RSS and Atom Feed Implementations PDF
  • Introduction One new feature of “Web 2.0?, the movement to build a more responsive Web, is the utilization of XML content feeds which use the RSS and Atom standards. These feeds allow both users and Web sites to obtain content headlines and body text without needing to visit the site in question, basically providing users with a summary of that sites content. Unfortunately, many of the applications that receive this data do not consider the security implications of using content from third parties and unknowingly make themselves and their attached systems susceptible to various forms of attack. • Calling C Library DLLs from C#
  • The .NET framework was designed to be the “lingua franca” for Windows development, with the expectation that it will set a new standard for building integrated software for Windows. However, it is inevitable that there is a time lag before .NET is fully adopted and existing applications are recoded. In particular, there is a large body of legacy code that will likely never be rewritten in .NET. To address this situation, Microsoft provides attributes, assembly, and marshaling. At the Numerical Algorithms Group (where I work), our particular interest in using these techniques is to utilize numerical software developed in C from within the .NET environment. Because C# is the premier .NET language, the examples I present here are in C#. While I use an example of data types that are current in the NAG C Library, the techniques I present are general enough for calling unmanaged code written in C from C# directly. The NAG C Library uses the following data types as parameters: • Scalars of type double, int, and Complex. These are passed either by value or by reference (as pointers to the particular type). • enum types. • Arrays of type double, int, and Complex. • A large number of structures, generally passed as pointers. • A few instance of arrays which are allocated within NAG routines and have to be freed by users (these have type double**). • Function parameters (also know as “callbacks”). These are pointers to functions with particular signatures. For instance, take the example of a C function that takes
  • Universal Type Client User Guide
  • In Universal Type Server, all the fonts in the organization are consolidated into a single, secure location on a server. Fonts are managed as follows: • The administrator subdivides the fonts into workgroups intended for specific types of users or projects • The administrator decides which workgroups you need to access. • You access workgroups, and the fonts within them, through the Universal Type Client application. • Your user permissions control what you can do with fonts within each workgroup, including whether you can add fonts, share sets, change a font’s class, and more. • Some users are font administrators, giving them more power over fonts. The Universal Type Server Daily Workflow If you’ve been using another font manager, your workflow stays relatively the same ----- open the font manager, find the fonts you want to use, and activate them. The benefit of Universal Type Server is that everyone you work with has access to the same fonts at the same time. Take a look at the typical use of Universal Type Server: • Launch the Universal Type Client • Open the appropriate workgroup (in many cases, you will belong to only one workgroup) • Use the Universal Type Client to sort and preview fonts • Customize font keywords, classes, foundries, and more* • Create sets of fonts for specific projects or clients • Add new fonts you purchased or received with jobs* • Activate any fonts you want to use • Use the fonts in any application in any document • Collect fonts for output* Universal Type Server can also activate fonts automatically when you
  • OpenOffice.org 2.x Setup Guide
  • This document is designed to provide users with instructions on installing OpenOffice.org 2.x and its successors on their systems. Starting with OpenOffice.org 2.x, installation is done using the native installers available on each system. This means that installation only requires that you unpack the download image and then launch the local tool. Using the native installers will provide better upgrades et cetera. Language packs are mostly available from each Native Language Community and may also be available from http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/ plus the appropriate release. RPM-based Installation 1. Unpack the downloaded image into a directory. For example,Currently, the following command would unpack into the current directory: tar xvzf Ooo_2.0.xxx_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz . 1. su to root, if necessary. 2. cd into the directory with the unpacked image. This could be RPMS. 3. Then execute rpm -Uvh *rpm for the standard installation in /opt. If you prefer to install in another directory, try rpm -Uvh --prefix // *.rpm or something similar. When relocating, only relocate the base rpms, in other words, do not include any user interface RPMs as these must go in their default locations for proper system integration. Note: Upgrade the core first and then upgrade the user interface. Separating steps 3 and 4 ensures a good upgrade. 4. cd into the desktop-integration directory and execute rpm -Uvh for the menu rpm that applies to your system. For example, on a RedHat-based system, you would use rpm -Uvh openoffice.org-redhat-menus-.noarch.rpm or similar. 5. Download and install any language packs needed for OpenOffice.org. For example, if you relocated Openoffice.org, you need rpm -Uvh --prefix ///
