Download manualMigrating Atlas to ASP.NET AJAX Final ContentMigrating Atlas applications to ASP.NET AJAX sounds like a rather hard and messy task; all applications have to be changed. However, in most cases, not much effort is required for the migration. There are several reasons for this. First, the most important features of Atlas changed only marginally in ASP.NET AJAX. And second, the most convenient features already exist, not in the ASP.NET AJAX package itself but in the Atlas Control Toolkit, which is now called ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit.
This Short Cut mentions important changes for every chapter in Programming Atlas, if applicable. Not all of the functionality used in Programming Atlas survived the switch to ASP.NET AJAX; however, the most important elements of the framework are still there, and continue to work in a very similar fashion. Of course this Short Cut is not complete and does not cover every aspect that has been changed. It should help you, however, to judge whether it is feasible to port existing Atlas applications to ASP.NET AJAX or not.

It can now do image-based lighting due to a number of architecture enhancements in the 6.0 and 6.5 versions. One of these critical new architectures is a full precision rendering pipeline from top to bottom. Another critical ingredient is a global illumination model. Global illumination simulations produce more accurate images of lighting in scenes, by considering more light sources than simple illumination models.
Light sources include actual lights as well as their diffuse reflection from surfaces, their specular reflection, luminous surfaces, surfaces textured with HDR (high dynamic-range) images, volumetrics, and environments. These simulations produce ‘pixel’ values which vary from millions to millionths. Such results require floating point storage to hold both the bright values over 100% (255), and the subtle shading in the dark areas, which have values less than 1/255, and would become black in a 24 bit image. Preserving very high values as well as subtle gradations is important not only for output, but also for image-based lighting methods which require HDR images to reproduce natural lighting environments.

To offer some guidance through simple explanation of the technology and 5 Ideas where real issues can be addressed, this white paper goes some way towards clearing the way for businesses to work with Web 2.0.
The aim is not to blindly evangelise and urge everyone to become involved – rather to help our clients align Web 2.0 with their business strategy in an appropriate and realistic fashion.
What is Web 2.0?
Sceptics may see Web 2.0 as nothing more than a game of buzzword bingo. So rather than trying to defining Web 2.0, let’s talk about the companies and websites that are causing the buzz.
The most talked about aspect of Web 2.0 is social networking and the most talked about social networking site is MySpace – so much so that the predominantly youthful users have become known as the MySpace Generation. MySpace recently had more page views than Yahoo!, Google and MSN. No one can argue with its influence. So how does MySpace work? Users begin by creating a public profile. They can embellish their basic details with photos, music, videos and thoughts for the day. Users then begin building their network of friends. These friends can be people they know, or stars from TV, radio and the movies. Many bands now start their careers2D Modelling in AutoCAD - tutorial exerciseThe screen
