  • Understanding Microsoft's Web Technologies
  • In the beginning, the World Wide Web (WWW) was flat. It was an electronic library where academics and scientists posted dissertations and dusty data for reading with clunky, text-only browsers. With the advent of graphical browsers, the consumer oriented Web took off. Content became vastly more colorful. Remember where you were the first time you experienced the exciting blink and marquee tags? (I bet you wish you could forget those gems!) Anyway, the Web has evolved as a rich, interactive, and personalized medium. In the new version of Web (Web 2.0), functional pages aren’t enough. User experience (abbreviated as UX in geekspeak) is hot, and sites are cool. This chapter looks at Microsoft’s tools and technologies for creating and delivering engaging Web content. Microsoft has a range of tools for authoring Web pages that appeal to several skill levels. Some tools are more suited to Web page design, while others are more appropriate to programming. Microsoft Office (Including Word 2007) When Bill Gates realized that Microsoft was lagging on the Internet front, the word went out to integrate Web support into every product. As a result, you can save Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint slides as Web pages. Many companies use the Office suite to place information on their intranet because most employees are comfortable in Word and Excel. These tools are quite adequate for creating static Web content that some call brochure ware. Although somewhat bloated, the pages are faithful reproductions of the original document — especially when viewed in Microsoft’s latest Internet Explorer

There are plenty of opportunities in there,” says Bang & Olufsen Download Audi Manual Book
  • Making A Snowman In Maya
  • This tutorial will teach you how to model a snowman and animated it using Maya’s most basic tools. Setting up Maya for the Tutorial Before you begin this tutorial, it is recommended that you reset Maya to its default preferences. Please go to Maya’s Main Menu > Window > Settings and Preferences > Preferences. This will open up Maya’s Preference Window. In the Preference Window, go to the Edit menu and select “Restore Default Settings”. Maya has a “Project” based system which will help you manage your files. It is recommended that you create a new project for this tutorial by going to Maya’s Main Menu > File > Project > New. When the Project Window pops up. You will need to name the project, then select the location that the project will be created in. Click the “Use Default” button before pressing “Accept”. Maya will automatically manage your files to this project from now on. Modeling the Snowman Creating The Body To create the conventional snowman we will need to start off with 3 spheres. Maya has a list of default shapes that can be used to create the base body of our snowman. These shapes are called “Primitives” and can be located in the “Create” Menu. The following will create the 3 sphere primitives to build the body of our snowman. 1. Go to the Main Menu and click “Create > NURBS Primitives > Sphere”. 2. After the creation of the shape, Maya will automatically select it, then update the Channel Box which will contain the
  • .NET Framework Security
  • The .NET Framework is an integral Windows component that supports building and running the next generation of applications and XML Web services. The .NET Framework is designed to fulfill the following objectives: • To provide a consistent object-oriented programming environment whether object code is stored and executed locally, executed locally but Internet-distributed, or executed remotely. • To provide a code-execution environment that minimizes software deployment and versioning conflicts. • To provide a code-execution environment that promotes safe execution of code, including code created by an unknown or semi-trusted third party. • To provide a code-execution environment that eliminates the performance problems of scripted or interpreted environments. • To make the developer experience consistent across widely varying types of applications, such as Windows-based applications and Web-based applications. • To build all communication on industry standards to ensure that code based on the .NET Framework can integrate with any other code. The Framework has appeared as an alternative to Sun’s Java platform (http://java.sun.com), but has yet to receive as wide acceptance as the more established Java. A comparison between Java and .NET is beyond the scope of this document. .NET accommodates the use of several different programming languages, as long as they conform to the Common Type System (CTS), a part of the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI) [14]. It is argued [15, Ch. 2] that this allows developers with different language backgrounds to still use their preferred languages and not get locked in to a specific language that the Framework supports. The validity of this argument can be questioned. For a
  • Molecular Challenges using Maya
  • Importing & animating a receptor 1) Importing molecular data into Maya 2) Using constraints and dynamic motion paths to animate the binding event Membrane with scattered proteins 1) Creating a softbody membrane 2) Using constraints to attach molecules to the dynamic membrane surface 3) Using MEL to scatter proteins automatically Extracellular Matrix 1) Using particles and MEL to create a dense mesh for the ECM Importing Molecular Data into Maya Several PDB viewers, including Chimera and Pymol, are able to export molecular surfaces as VRML files. VRML files can then be converted to a file type that can be imported directly into the 3D application of your choice. By default, Maya is able to import .obj, .ma and .mel files. Plugins can be installed to import a number of other 3d file types, but as of yet there is no direct way to import VRML files into Maya. First, we’ll explore the functionality of Chimera and export VRML files of the reovirus attachment protein sigma1, then we’ll use the ‘multiscale model’ option in Chimera to export the reovirus core as VRML. • Developing Applications with WebLogic SIP Server
  • The SIP Servlet API is a part of JAIN APIs and being standardized as JSR116 of JCP (Java Community Process). The SIP Servlet API version 1.0 was published in February, 2003. Note: In this document, the term “SIP Servlet” is used to represent the API, and “SIP servlet” is used to represent an application created with the API. J2EE provides Java Servlet that is a main technology of building Web applications. Although Java Servlet is used only to develop HTTP protocol-based applications on a Web application server, it basically has functions as a generic API for server applications. SIP Servlet is defined as the generic servlet API with SIP-specific functions added. SIP Servlets are very similar to HTTP Servlets, and HTTP servlet developers will quickly adapt to the programming model. The service level defined by both HTTP and SIP Servlets is very similar, and you can easily design applications that support both HTTP and SIP. Listing 1 shows an example of a simple SIP servlet. Listing 1-1 List 1: SimpleSIPServlet.java package com.bea.example.simple; import java.io.IOException; import javax.servlet.*; import javax.servlet.sip.*; public class SimpleSIPServlet extends SipServlet { protected void doMessage(SipServletRequest req) throws ServletException, IOException { SipServletResponse res = req.createResponse(200); res.send(); } } The above example shows a simple SIP servlet that sends back a 200 OK response to the SIP MESSAGE request. As you can see from the list, SIP Servlet and HTTP Servlet have many things in common: 1. Servlets must inherit the base class provided by the API. HTTP servlets must inherit HttpServlet, and SIP servlets must inherit SipServlet. 2. Methods doXxx must be overridden and implemented. HTTP servlets
  • How To Do a Transmission Removal and Clutch Replacement PDF
  • Removing a transmission and replacing a clutch is a complex and time-consuming procedure. By replacing it yourself, you alone are responsible for the safety and functionality of yourself and vehicle. If you do not want to take that chance, I recommend that you take you car to a Nissan certified mechanic. This article was written after my clutch was replace and the transmission was re-installed. It is very possible that I left out a few steps or remembered them differently. Read the entire article before starting, you may find something too challenging for your level of skill. If you have any additional information that you would like to see added to this page, send me an email. II. Get the proper tools and parts for the repair: A. Sockets: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, torque wrench, socket wrench, 3/8? universal joint, extensions (total of at least 20? long combined). Oh, maybe some duct tape. B. Wrenches: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm. C. Automotive support and lift tools to lift the car high and support the car safely: jack stands (4 large ones preferable), ramps (to place under tires for extra safety), suitable transmission jack (see below). Note: The car is lifted very high off the ground and can become unstable the higher you lift it. Look how high my car is off the ground. I used 2 jack stands and 4 ramps (only 2 touched the tires the other 2 ramps just for safety if the car was to fall. The car should
  • Client Billing Application
  • In this document, we describe a simple application that keeps track of payments made to client accounts. Setup: The current version of the application is configured to use an HSQLDB database (although connections to a MySQL database and an MS Access database are also included in comments at the beginning of ClientBillingDB.java). To use an HSQLDB, download the HSQLDB system from http://hsqldb.sourceforge.net/ and copy hsqldb.jar into the JRE lib/ext folder (this jar file is also included in the HSQLDB folder). A sample database (clients.properties and clients.script) has been included in the project folder. To use a MYSQL database, download the MYSQL server from http://www.mysql.com/, install the server and create the database. A script that creates the database has been included in the MYSQL folder in the project folder. If MYSQL is used, it is worthwhile downloading the MYSQL Control Center which provides GUI access to the databases. To use an MS Access database under Windows, an ODBC connection that links the database, “clients.mdb”, and the logical database name used in the system, Clients, must be defined. ODBC connections are defined in the control panel (ODBC) on earlier versions of Windows and are defined in “DataSources (ODBC)” in the Administrative Tools section of the Control Panel in more recent versions of Windows.
