Download pdf Programming SQL ServerIntrusive Data StructuresThis article compares two styles of building data structures and data structure libraries in C++: (a) Intrusive data structures formed by pointers stored inside the application objects, (b) Containers where auxiliary objects form the required data structure, and only point to the application objects without adding any pointers or other data to them.
Each style works better in different situations, and the first half of the article discusses the impact of this choice on program performance, code maintainability, ease of use and data integrity. When working with templates, containers are easier to implement, which may be the reason why most class libraries are based on containers. The only existing library which is consistently intrusive (Code Farms) uses a code generator. If intrusive data structures could not be implemented with templates, their applicability would be severely limited. The second half of the article deals with this pivotal question, shows an elegant way of building an intrusive data structure library with templates, explains why its interface is similar to- but cannot be identical with STL, discusses the impact of the new architecture on class dependency, and compares the new approach with existing libraries. A prototype of the new library is now available under the name Pattern Template Library.
Open any book on data structures, and somewhere near the beginning you will find a linked list similar to Fig.1a. This is the type of list you would probably use in your program if you were not using any class library.

Power Steering Gear Removal:
1. Mark the outer tie rod ends/tie rod lock nut and the inner tie rod prior to removing the steering gear.
2. Mark the intermediate shaft to the steering rack pinion shaft (control valve shaft) prior to removing the steering gear.
3. Disconnect the clamp plate attached on the steering gear.
4. Disconnect the steering pressure lines from the steering gear.
Steering Rack Guide Replacement:
1. Using SST 09922-10010, remove the rack guide spring cap lock nut.
Note: Use SST 09922-10010 in the direction shown in Fig. 1.
2. Remove the rack guide spring cap, rack guide spring and rack guide subassembly.
a. Using SST 09612-10022 and a 21 mm box end wrench, remove the cap.
b. Remove the spring and rack guide.
3. Install a new rack guide subassembly. Reuse the original rack guide spring and rack guide spring cap.

When displayed on a large monitor, the Ribbon will adjust to show the “large versions” of groups in the Ribbon. When displayed on a small monitor, or when the user chooses to manually reduce the size of the application window, the Ribbon will adjust to show the “small versions” of groups in the Ribbon. The Ribbon is not designed for a particular display resolution. The Ribbon simply provides the best arrangement of the controls for the application and displays that arrangement appropriately for every possible size of the application window.
The figure below illustrates how the layouts of controls on Microsoft Word’s Insert Tab change when the application window is horizontally resized. Note that some controls change from being displayed as large controls to being displayed as small controls when the Ribbon is narrower. Also note that some text labels for controls are removed from the Ribbon when the Ribbon is narrower.
DEFINING GROUPS FOR RIBBON RESIZING
1. Resizing the width of the application window MUST change the layout of controls on the Ribbon.
