Web 2.0 for Content for Learning and Teaching in Higher EducationThis report is the result of a study into the use of Web 2.0 technologies for content creation for learning and teaching in Higher Education, funded by the JISC, and carried out between March and May 2007. It draws on existing studies, interviews with staff at universities who have implemented Web 2.0 technologies for learning and teaching, and a week-long web based seminar (webinar) with expert contributions, both from speakers and the audience. The report builds on the briefing documents that were written especially for the webinar and the results of the webinar discussions, many of which can be found in the Moodle site that was used to support the conference.
Web 2.0 will affect how universities go about the business of education, from learning, teaching and assessment, through contact with school communities, widening participation, interfacing with industry, and maintaining contact with alumni. However, it would be a mistake to consider Web 2.0 as the sole driver of these changes; in reality Web 2.0 is just one part of the Higher Education (HE) ecosystem. Other drivers include, for example, pressures to greater efficiency, changes in student population, and ongoing emphasis on better learning and teaching methods.
Nonetheless, Web 2.0 is, in our view, a technology with profound potential for inducing change in the HE sector. In this, the possible realms of learning to be opened up by the catalytic effects of Web 2.0 technologies are attractive, allowing greater student independence and autonomy, greater collaboration, and increased pedagogic efficiency.

We do not recommend that any vehicle with a body lift installed be involved in any extreme off road maneuvers such as jumping. Failure to observe this warning may result in serious personal injury and/or severe damage to your vehicle.
WARNING
Many states now have laws restricting bumper heights and vehicle lifts. Local laws should be consulted to determine if the changes you intend to make to your vehicle comply with state laws. Before combining a body lift with a suspension lift, consult an installation professional to see how this will affect your specific application. WARNING The installation of larger wheel and tire combinations may reduce the effectiveness of the Anti-lock Braking System.

That therefore, we, the coders, are foreigners, seeking citizenship in the computer’s locale. It’s the computer’s language and we are translators for the world. But what do you call the language when your brain begins to think in that language? When you start to use the language’s own words and colloquialisms to express yourself—Say, the computer can’t do that. How can it be the computer’s language? It is ours, we speak it natively! We can no longer truthfully call it a computer language. It is coderspeak.
It is the language of our thoughts. Read the following aloud to yourself. 5.times { print “Odelay!” } In English sentences, punctuation (such as periods, exclamations, parentheses) are silent. Punctuation adds meaning to words, helps give cues as to what the author intended by a sentence. So let’s read the above as: Five times print “Odelay!”. Which is exactly what this small Ruby program does. Beck’s mutated Spanish exclamation will print five times on the computer screen. Read the following aloud to yourself. exit unless “restaurant”.include? “aura” Here we’re doing a basic reality check. Our program will exit (the program will end) unless the word restaurant contains (or includes ) the word aura . Again, in English: Exit unless the word restaurant includes the word aura.

Many people use Tcl for this purpose already but in an ad hoc way and without realizing many of the more non-obvious benefits. This paper reviews these benefits and provides a framework and examples. Canonical solutions to HTML quoting problems are presented. This paper also discusses using Tcl for the generation of different formats from the same document. As an example, FAQ generation in both text and HTML are described.
CGI scripts have many advantages over statically written HTML. For example, CGI scripts can automatically adapt to changes in the environment, such as the date in the previous example. CGI scripts can run programs, include and process data, and just about anything that can be done in traditional programs.
CGI scripts are particularly worthwhile in handling Web forms. Web forms allow users to enter data into a page and then send the results to a Web server for processing. The Web form itself does not have to be generated by a CGI script. However, data entered by a user may require a customized response. Therefore, a dynamically generated response via a CGI script is appropriate. Since the response may produce another form, it is common to generate forms dynamically as well as their responses.
