  • Building Microsoft Windows Versions of R and R packages under Intel Linux
  • It is simple to build R and R packages for Microsoft Windows from an ix86 Linux machine. This is very useful to package developers who are familiar with Unix tools and feel that widespread dissemination of their work is important. The resulting R binaries and binary library packages require only a minimal amount of work to install under Microsoft Windows. While testing is always important for quality assurance and control, we have found that the procedure usually results in reliable packages. Instructions on cross-building come with the R source [1] in files such as INSTALL, readme.package, and Makefile under the directory src/gnuwin32/. However, it took us a substantial amount of time to get things worked out, and we thought it might be useful to share our experience by by presenting an explicit example. In this document, we intended to automate and illustrate steps for obtaining, installing, and using the cross-compilation tools. hoping that it might save people’s time. These steps have been put into a Makefile, which accompanies this document, for automating the process. The Makefile is available from the contributed documentation area on Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN). The current version has been tested with R-2.1.0. For the impatient and trusting, if a current version of Linux R is in the search path, then make CrossCompileBuild will run all Makefile targets described up to the section, Building R Packages and Bundles. This assumes: (1) you have the Makefile in a directory RCrossBuild (empty except for the makefile), and (2) that ./RCrossBuild is
  • Yahoo! Query Language (YQL) Guide
  • This guide provides an overview of Yahoo! Query Language (YQL) along with information on how to use YQL to retrieve data from Yahoo! Social Directory, MyBlogLog, and data from other Yahoo! Web services. YQL also allows you to retrieve data from external sources such as the New York Times as well as feeds such as RSS and Atom. This guide is intended for software developers who are familiar with SQL, MySQL, or Yahoo! Pipes. Yahoo! makes a lot of structured data available to developers through its Web services, like Flickr and Local, and through other sources like RSS (news) or CSV documents (finance). There are also numerous external Web services and APIs outside of Yahoo! that provide valuable data. These disparate services require developers to locate the right URLs for accessing them and the documentation for querying them. Data remains isolated and separated, requiring developers to combine and work on the data once it's returned to them. The YQL platform provides a mediator service that enables developers to query, filter, and combine data across Yahoo! and beyond. YQL exposes a SQL-like SELECT syntax that is both familiar to developers and expressive enough for getting the right data. Through the SHOW and DESC commands we attempt to make YQL self-documenting, enabling developers to discover the available data sources and structure without opening another web browser or reading a manual. The YQL Web Service exposes two URLs that are compiled for each query: The first URL allows you to access both private and public data using
  • The security risks of AJAX/web 2.0 applications
  • The web 2.0 concept is not sufficiently defined to allow a critical discussion of it, but we can discuss AJAX (asynchronous Javascript and XML). This concept, which underpins many web 2.0 sites, repackages and applies existing technologies to achieve a new structure for internet applications. Unfortunately, increased flexibility creates conditions for new security problems. To understand how AJAX alters the security landscape for web application testing it is necessary to show the fundamental differences between it and traditional internet application models. Traditional internet model A web browser requests a webpage, normally indicating that the request is being processed by animating a logo and altering the status bar. Internet Explorer, for example, animates the chequered flag. Figure 1 summarises this interaction. When the user clicks on a link, an HTTP Get request is sent to the server. The web server deals with the request, and sends the web page to the client. If the client is to send information back to the server, another request is made following the same process. Under this synchronous ‘click-and-wait’ communication method, information is exchanged by requesting and receiving whole web pages. While waiting for the server, the user loses the focus of the application and cannot interact with it. This loss of focus has long been a source of dissatisfaction with traditional web applications, and if the wait for a round trip from the server is sufficiently long, users may leave the site. The AJAX-enabled internet model In this model a client requests a webpage. Once this full page is
  • VTBook Evaluation Guide pdf
  • VTBook is a PC-Card graphics card for notebook computers: it connects through a CardBus compatible PC-Card slot. The goal of Village Tronic while designing VTBook was to create a small, affordable, reliable device that would empower notebook users by allowing them to connect big digital displays to their computers, as they were desktop systems. Modern notebooks feature impressive capabilities in terms of computing power, storage space, networking and so on, but they still lack in graphics expandability, especially in the number and size of supported displays. No notebook can drive more than two displays (including the internal one) and just a few have a digital video connector. For any notebook with a CardBus connector, VTBook means the ability to add one or more displays, even digital, high resolution or wide, expanding the available desktop space for the user productivity. Adding the VTBook DualDisplay accessory it s even possible to reach a total of three external displays on Windows notebooks! Download VTBook Evaluation Guide pdf

  • Grand Theft Auto 3 - Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC Guide
  • Grand Theft Auto 3 was the biggest step forward Rockstar has taken in its existence. The possibility of free roaming in a huge 3D environment combined with the total lack of moral constraints made the game an instant hit. It sparked debates and lawsuits more than any other game in history and in the same time, started a genre of its own. Many of the recent titles have been deemed clones just because the developers chose to use the same principles. Even so, Grand Theft Auto 3 is a great experience six years later. Enter one of the following codes during game play to activate the corresponding cheat function. The message “Cheat Activated” will appear to confirm correct code entry. The codes can also be activated at the menu screen (press [Esc] during game play) to avoid having your character moving around while they are being entered. Note: Codes can be entered multiple times. For example, keep typing gunsgunsguns etc. to have more ammunition as well as all guns. The giveusatank code can only be activated four times. • 1986-1992 Nissan Pickup Pathfinder 4X4 4” Suspension System Installation Instructions Kit
  • Before Starting Installation NOTE 9. Park vehicle on a clean, dry, flat, level surface and block tires so vehicle cannot roll in either direction. Kit parts are prefaced by the word kit and appear in bold print. 1. Carefully read all warnings and instructions completely before beginning. 2. Verify all parts have been received in this kit by checking the parts list at the end of this document. 3. This suspension system is designed to be used with wheels with a backspacing of 3-3/4” or less. Wheels with greater then 3-3/4” backspacing including some factory wheels will interfere with upper control arm and cause damage to OE parts and/or tires. Distance from hub mating surface of rim to the sidewall of tire can not exceed 4-1/2”. 4. Exhaust modification: a. Cross over pipe alteration is necessary to accommodate this suspension system on 6 cylinder models. b. Trail Master offers kit NX3O accessory to perform this modification. 5. This suspension system is not recommended on extended cab models with 2 piece driveshafts. 6. On 4 cylinder and some 6 cylinder models (with R180A front differential carrier) differential cover will contact lower control arm bracketry. On these vehicles, kit #8040 is required in addition to the suspension kit to reposition the front differential carrier. 7. Only install this kit on the vehicle for which it is specified.
