  • iPhone and Microsoft Exchange Server
  • iPhone 2.0 software communicates directly with your Microsoft Exchange Server via Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, giving users push email, contacts, and calendar. Exchange ActiveSync maintains a connection between Exchange Server and iPhone so when a new email message or meeting invitation arrives, iPhone is instantly updated. If your company currently supports Exchange ActiveSync on Exchange Server 2003 or 2007, you already have the necessary services in place to support iPhone 2.0 software—no additional configuration is required. If you have Exchange Server but your company is new to Exchange ActiveSync, review the following steps to enable Exchange ActiveSync. Exchange ActiveSync Setup Network configuration • Check to ensure port 443 is open on the firewall. (Note: If your company allows Outlook Web Access, port 443 is most likely already open on your firewall.) • On the Front-End Server, verify that a server certificate is installed and enable SSL for the Exchange ActiveSync virtual directory (require basic SSL authentication). • On the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server, verify that a server certificate is installed and update the public DNS to properly resolve incoming connections. • On the ISA Server, create a Web listener as well as an Exchange Web client access publishing rule according to Microsoft documentation. This is a necessary step in enabling Exchange ActiveSync. • For all firewalls and network appliances, set the Idle Session Timeout to 30 minutes (check your Microsoft Exchange documentation for alternative heartbeat and timeout intervals). • Fighting Virus and Hack Attacks with a Network Analyzer PDF Article
  • This article shows how a network analyzer, historically used for network troubleshooting, can also be used to defend against the security threats. Certain features of a network analyzer can be set to monitor for virus and attack signatures and offer quick ways of isolating infected systems. For those organizations that are looking to invest in a network analyzer there are certain key features that should be considered. Introduction Chances are, your IT toolbox already contains a network analyzer. Historically, a network (or protocol) analyzer has been a great tool for troubleshooting network problems and monitoring for excessive bandwidth usage. But did you know a network analyzer can also fight virus and hack attacks? Along with keeping track of network devices and uptime, a network analyzer can also locate network security breaches and help identify and isolate virus-infected systems. It’s very easy to use your current analyzer to enhance your network security. But which analyzer features are essential for this task? The purpose of this article is to explain how an analyzer can augment firewalls and other perimeter defenses. How Network Analyzers Work A network analyzer shows you what is happening on your network by decoding the different protocols that devices on the network use to communicate, and presenting the results in human... • D-Link DMI-128ESU+ ISDN Terminal Adapter (TA) Users Manual
  • The ISDN TA (Integrated Service Digital Network Terminal Adapter) is a communication product for the Internet and digital communication era. It provides high speed and high quality transmission. The TA supports two analogs and one digital port. The two analog ports act like two regular telephone lines, which can be connected to regular telephone, answering machine, fax and modem products. Also, the TA can provide flexible functions like: supplementary service, call screening, speed dial and global call function to meet user’s requirements. The digital port with the RS232 link can be connected to PC to support data communication with remote site. It supports many protocol selection such as V.110, V.120, X.75, X.25 on D channel, PPP (Point-toPoint Protocol), MLPPP (Multi-Link PPP), BACP (Bandwidth Allocation Control Protocol) / BOD (Bandwidth On Demand) function. With the MLPPP, the entire 128k ISDN bandwidth can be used to access the Internet. The BOD function can utilize dynamic bandwidth demand under MLPPP connection. Under MLPPP data connection, the TA will automatically release one B channel for voice communication when the user picks up the phone to make a call and returns to two B channels for MLPPP when the phone hangs up. With the BACP function, the 128k capacity of ISDN can be utilized fully. The TA is equipped with channel bundling feature which allows the user to use both B channels to maximize the 128k bandwidth for data transmission. The TA complies with ITU-T Q.921, Q.931 for D channel protocol, and provides switching type selections
  • Be a driver, not a passenger - Implications of Web 2.0 for financial institution
  • Financial services providers need to adapt to a new era of communication and may turn it into their advantage. Retail banks are feeling the heat in the form of diminishing margins on standard products and increased scrutiny by the online community. Those who stay abreast of events, however, may turn the Web 2.0 challenge to their advantage by offering new services and reaching out to new customers. Any Web 2.0 presence of a bank must be authentic and consistent with the bank’s brand and corporate culture. Users of Web 2.0 applications propagate information and opinion – this multiplies reputational risk. Any news can spread uncontrollably through virtual worlds. Financial institutions must adjust their internal and external communication policies accordingly. This includes, for instance, deciding on a company policy for accessing the new applications as they will inevitably become widely used by employees. Innovative payment systems are capturing niche markets. A limited market is developing for innovative online payment systems that address specific needs. Since those niches represent only a small slice of B2C e-commerce, conventional payment systems continue to dominate the B2C business. Online P2P lending platforms nibble at banks’ loan business. New internet ventures match people who need a small loan with others who have extra cash to lend online. They aim to save costs by cutting out the middleman – i.e., the retail banks. The market for standard loans is highly competitive, though, which limits the potential for P2P platforms. Web 2.0 inspired inroads into traditional banking seize on the human factor.
  • FactoryFLOW Tutorial
  • The tutorial uses the actual FactoryFLOW program to introduce the features of FactoryFLOW. The tutorial has three sections: 1. The first section shows you how to generate several charts, selectively view paths, and generate a workcenter utilization report. 2. The second section shows you how to make and save alternative layouts and material handling systems. 3. The third section takes you step-by-step through a basic analysis of a ladder factory. Tip Look over Getting Started in the Factory Programs Guide for a quick review of what you should know before attempting any of the FactoryFLOW tutorials, including how to load the Factory menu and start FactoryFLOW. Repeating the Tutorial The INSTALL program copies the files needed for the tutorial to the CIMFTUTORIAL directory on your hard disk, with a backup set of the files to the BAKTUTOR directory. If you named the CIMF directory something else during installation, substitute that name when referring to your directory. The files include drawing and data files used in the tutorial. During the tutorial, you will modify the original files and create new data files. To do the tutorial a second time, you will need to restore the files to their original condition. To restore the files, first delete all files from the TUTORIAL directory, then copy everything from the BAKTUTOR directory Download pdf FactoryFLOW Tutorial
