Overclocking can significantly boost game performance and even simple desktop tasks, meaning more performance from your system for no extra money. When building a PC, some people will deliberately choose components which are known to have better overclocking ability, so that they can benefit from greater system performance. Can it damage my system? Yes, but its unlikely. Generally speaking, when computer hardware is pushed beyond its limits, it will crash, lock up, or show other obvious erro long before it gets to the point where system components might be damaged. The exception to this is if extreme voltages are used when attempting to overclock. • If your original hard drive only had a single partition (you only had a C: drive) and your new drive has multiple partitions, your CD-ROM may have been moved to the next available drive letter after your new hard drive partitions. If you have CD-ROM based applications installed (those that require the CD-ROM to run), these applications may be expecting to find your CD-ROM drive at D:, which may have changed. If you have problems running these applications, verify the drive letter of your CD-ROM, and reinstall the CD-ROM applications if the CD-ROM drive is at a new drive letter. Remember, perform this step of making partitions and formatting them only if you didn’t use EasyMove in Step 1, above. • Migrating Atlas to ASP.NET AJAX Final Content
  • Migrating Atlas applications to ASP.NET AJAX sounds like a rather hard and messy task; all applications have to be changed. However, in most cases, not much effort is required for the migration. There are several reasons for this. First, the most important features of Atlas changed only marginally in ASP.NET AJAX. And second, the most convenient features already exist, not in the ASP.NET AJAX package itself but in the Atlas Control Toolkit, which is now called ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit. This Short Cut mentions important changes for every chapter in Programming Atlas, if applicable. Not all of the functionality used in Programming Atlas survived the switch to ASP.NET AJAX; however, the most important elements of the framework are still there, and continue to work in a very similar fashion. Of course this Short Cut is not complete and does not cover every aspect that has been changed. It should help you, however, to judge whether it is feasible to port existing Atlas applications to ASP.NET AJAX or not. Download pdf Migrating Atlas to ASP.NET AJAX Final Content
  • Interactive 3D models – From 3ds max to VRML
  • Producing 3D interactive models is becoming a greater challenge every day. Choosing the right tool to handle the modelling process is essential if the final product is to be a VRML world, which can satisfy the user’s desire for both interactivity and realism. 3ds max offers a potentially excellent development environment for creating high quality 3D models. This paper discusses how the tools and techniques available within 3ds max can be harnessed to produce complex interactive models, which are viewable with a VRML browser. Chapters 1.1 and 1.2 set out the scope and motivation for this paper. Chapter 1.3 describes the working platform, testing platform and the software packages used in our projects. Chapter 2 provides a brief overview of 3ds max modelling software and chapter 3 offers an overview of VRML language. Chapter 4 gives a short description of what interactivity in virtual worlds means and considers the user expectations of interactivity. What 3ds max offers for achieving interactivity in 3D models targeted for use in VRML and how we used this functionality in our projects, is brought together in chapter 4.1. When all objects are placed and scene is constructed (Chapter 4.1.), next significant step is to export the scene into VRML. Chapter 5 explains how this is done. Chapter 6 is a discussion of our experience derived from our work on the two projects. Chapter 7 is the conclusion and contains our final words on the topic. Finally, we end this paper with references to the technical literature we

  • Mask-drawing in AutoCad Tutorial
  • How to start AutoCad Click on the AutoCad icon. It will open a blank drawing file and a dialog box called ‘AutoCad Today’. Close the AutoCad Today’ and start working in the drawing file. In AutoCad, you do not have to specify the units of length. It works in relative units. Hence, you can draw with dimensions in any units (m, cm, mm, micron, inch etc.). Just make sure that all your dimensions have been consistently converted in that unit. For drawing masks in AutoCad you only need to learn 2D sketching. You need not learn 3D modeling. On the left you will find a lot of drawing tools. All these tools can also be accessed from the command prompt. It is essential to use a combination of commands and tool-buttons to make your drawings fast. When you click on a button, the command associated with this button is shown in the command prompt. That’s how you can learn the commands. Command prompt is very important. Always keep an eye on the command prompt. Most useful drawing tools I have found the following tools to be the most useful. All these tools are located on the left hand side. Construction line: These lines are used as reference line. Polyline: Most of the linear features on your mask will be made with polyline. You can control the width of these lines and thus create features of different width. Width can be specified through the command prompt. Otherwise, the property box of any object can be opened by
