  • Introduction to Maya pdf
  • Welcome to Maya, the world’s leading software application for 3D digital animation and visual effects. Maya provides a comprehensive suite of tools for your 3D content creation work ranging from modeling, animation, and dynamics through to painting and rendering to name but a few. With Maya, you can create and edit 3D models in a variety of modeling formats and animate your models using Maya’s suite of animation tools. You can create convincing visual simulations of rigid and soft body objects interacting in the physical world using the computational dynamics and particles tools. Maya also provides a range of tools to allow you to render your animated 3D scenes to achieve photo realistic imagery and animated visual effects The Maya software interface is fully customizable for those users who require the ability to maximize their productivity. Maya allows users to extend their functionality within Maya by providing access to MEL (Maya Embedded Language). With MEL, you can customize the user interface and write scripts and macros. In addition, a full Application Programmers Interface (API) is available to enhance the power and functionality of Maya. The content creation power of Maya is provided to users in an integrated software application that is designed to enhance user productivity and ease of use. The goal of this manual is to assist you in getting started with Maya as you embark upon your learning path. • Serializing object in XML format in Eiffel.NET Applications
  • This document presents my work as part of course COSC 4080 during fall 2002, under the supervision of Professor Jonathan Ostroff. The initial purpose of the project was to write a reusable component to store Eiffel objects in XML format, and also to investigate a new product from Eiffel Software, namely Eiffel Envision. Eiffel Envision is a plug-in for Visual Studio.NET that facilitate the writing, debugging and testing of Eiffel code in Visual Studio.NET. Needless to say, the integration between Eiffel and the .NET Framework (hereinafter referred to as Eiffel.NET) is not just at the GUI level. Eiffel is now one of the few languages that are .NET compatible. This means that programmers can compile Eiffel code to run on the .NET Common Language Runtime (more on this issue in the next section). This document is written in the form of a tutorial, and it reflects, in a way, the learning curve that I was facing when working on the project. Although the final code for the XML Serialization application is fairly short, I have revised it and restructured it dozens of time; at every step along the way I have learned something new, and realized that the code I have written was wrong, or perhaps it wasn’t efficient. These are the topics that are covered in this document: • Eiffel.NET and Envision – I present a tutorial about the integration between Eiffel and the .NET Framework, including step-by- step examples on how to use Envision, how to create Eiffel.NET applications, how to use
  • Using Web Analytics with Microsoft Silverlight
  • Silverlight is Microsoft’s cross-browser, cross-platform browser plug-in that allows the creation of interactive web applications that employ high quality streaming media, vector graphics, images, and animation. Deployed as a plug-in for the major browsers on the Windows, Mac and Linux (supported by Novell) operating systems, web developers can craft interactive applications that have an identical user experience on the vast majority of web browsers deployed today. Silverlight addresses a disconnect that exists today in web development workflow where the design intent of graphics designers and interaction designers cannot be faithfully communicated to and crafted by the web developers. In Silverlight, this intent is created in design tools like Expression Design and Expression Blend and passed off to web developers in XML-based XAML data files. The fidelity of the designers’ ideas is kept as there is a clear separation between the design in XAML and the code in JavaScript. Silverlight is a browser plug-in that renders XAML and exposes a JavaScript programming model in 1.0, extending this with a .NET programming model and runtime in Silverlight 2. Since the Silverlight 2 runtime has full access to the HTML Document Object Model (DOM) and cross-domain data access abilities, it is possible for future Silverlight applications to implement analytics entirely in managed code or in JavaScript code that is invoked from the managed code. This architecture enables using AJAX-style programming patterns for building responsive, interactive, applications. An event model within the Silverlight control allows for web developers to easily add JavaScript-based event handling for mouse,

  • CADPIPE HVAC Tutorial
  • The CADPIPE tutorial has been organized to include many of the timesaving features of the CADPIPE HVAC program. While it would be impossible to highlight every aspect of the program, we believe that after completing this teaching manual you will have a good working knowledge of CADPIPE. All AutoCAD commands referenced in the tutorial (Zoom Window, e.g.) are shown in CAPITAL LETTERS while all CADPIPE commands (Walls, e.g.) are shown in bold text. This tutorial is written under the assumption that you are using a mouse and selecting commands from the toolbars or pull-down menus. All CADPIPE system prompts are in italics and the appropriate responses are numbered consecutively. Note: Be sure that you have gone through the instructional materials for your AutoCAD software. The CADPIPE tutorial assumes that you have a basic working knowledge of AutoCAD. Download pdf CADPIPE HVAC Tutorial
  • Research and Implementation of E-commerce Platform Based on .NET Framework
  • Nowadays, transacting business through E-commerce platform has become an important business trading way in modern society. E-commerce has been applied to literally every aspect of our society. The requirements of users are variable, different methods are in need of realizing E-commerce, even the deployment platforms are different. The JSP, ASP, HTML and other traditional scripting language has become unable to meet the needs of designing a complex system, even if it has been realized, the coupling between codes, the configuration environment and system deployment dependency fall far short of various requirements of users. It is a highly skilled work which demands good conception of beauty and much professional knowledge of the program designers. However, it is difficult to fulfill the needs in reality. The .NET Framework is Microsoft's comprehensive and consistent programming model for building applications that have visually stunning user experiences, seamless and secure communication, and the ability to model a range of business processes. It includes a large library of coded solutions to prevent common programming problems and a virtual machine that manages the execution of programs written specifically for the framework. The .NET Framework is a key Microsoft offering and is intended to be used by most new applications created for the Windows platform. The coded solutions that form the framework's Base Class Library cover a large range of programming needs in a number of areas, including user interface, data access, database connectivity, cryptography, web application development, numeric algorithms, and network communications. The class library is used by

  • Guide to Eos and Unity Computing for UNIX,Windows, and Linux
  • Guide to Eos and Unity Computing, 2007-08 Edition for UNIX, Windows, and Linux is the principal user manual for the distributed academic computing environment at North Carolina State University. Formerly a College of Engineering system only, Eos was made available to other NCSU colleges in 1996 in a project called Unity. Today, all NCSU students, faculty, and staff receive accounts on a fully merged campus-wide system, or realm, often referred to as Eos/Unity. The system's continuing expansion has required a new release of this guide annually. The guide was first written in 1991 as Eos: An Introduction. Two releases of Guide to the Eos Computing Environment followed in 1993 and 1994. In 1996, Eos and Unity were written about together for the first time in Guide to Eos and Unity Computing, followed by the 1997 edition. The all-UNIX environment changed with the inclusion of a Microsoft Windows platform, which was introduced in Guide to Eos and Unity Computing: 1998-99 Edition for UNIX and NT, followed by the 1999-2000 edition. Guide to Eos and Unity Computing: 2000-01 Edition for UNIX, NT, and Linux introduced the Red Hat Linux platform, which further diversified Eos/Unity. The Windows 2000 platform replaced NT in Guide to Eos and Unity Computing: 2001-02 Edition for UNIX, Windows, and Linux, and the 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 (for Windows XP), and 2006-07 editions followed. The current guide, Guide to Eos and Unity Computing: 2007-08 Edition for UNIX, Windows, and Linux, is written in collaboration with staff from the College of Engineering’s
