  • 1. From the bottom of the Clip Art task pane, choose Clip art on Office Online 2. Search for a topic in the top box on the right. Use the parameters in pull-down menu on the left to narrow your search. For example, to find only photos you can choose that type to return. You can click on a graphic to see it in a larger size. 3. When you find a graphic you want to save, you can view it in larger format by clicking on the graphic itself. To download the graphic, check the box at the bottom of the graphic. 4. Continue to search on the Microsoft Office ClipArt Online for more graphics (optional). 5. When you are finished selecting graphics, click the Download Items link at the top left of the screen. On the next screen click Download Now, then choose Open this file from its current location. 6. The graphics come into the clip art window. Click and drag the graphic on to your document. 7.   • The .NET framework was designed to be the “lingua franca” for Windows development, with the expectation that it will set a new standard for building integrated software for Windows. However, it is inevitable that there is a time lag before .NET is fully adopted and existing applications are recoded. In particular, there is a large body of legacy code that will likely never be rewritten in .NET. To address this situation, Microsoft provides attributes, assembly, and marshaling. At the Numerical Algorithms Group (where I work), our particular interest in using these techniques is to utilize numerical software developed in C from within the .NET environment. Because C# is the premier .NET language, the examples I present here are in C#. While I use an example of data types that are current in the NAG C Library, the techniques I present are general enough for calling unmanaged code written in C from C# directly. The NAG C Library uses the following data types as parameters: • Scalars of type double, int, and Complex. These are passed either by value or by reference (as pointers to the particular type). • enum types. • Arrays of type double, int, and Complex. • A large number of structures, generally passed as pointers. • A few instance of arrays which are allocated within NAG routines and have to be freed by users (these have type double**). • Function parameters (also know as “callbacks”). An online blog is served as an information kiosk and indicate possible instructional design and applications to language education.   • Is e-Teaching Web Zero or Potentially Web 2.1?
  • The current pedagogical trend about involving students in their learning is naturally extended to student-centered learning in e-Learning systems. Likewise, instructional designs are developed to enable and motivate students at center stage to learn effectively and willingly. However, from our ten years of experience in promoting an e-Learning system called TIES in higher education, we have realized that an “e-Teaching” environment for teachers to teach effectively and happily needs to be founded as a prerequisite to successful e-Learning. We further argue that “e-Teaching” can be developed to be a central idea that is actually more important than e-Learning. The reasons are as follows: (1) teaching is more fun and active than learning, (2) teaching requires more creative and imaginative brain work than learning, (3) teaching creates more value than learning, and (4) the Web is growing as a global brain harnessing intellectual knowledge. A seemingly innocuous shift of the center of attention from students to teachers may transform e-Teaching as a current Web 0 status to even Web 2.1, if we may borrow a trendy word from a recent Web 2.0 hype. Increasingly, e-Leaning today is defined by terms like Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the context of ubiquitous IT network society.   • Here are some of the methods I use for portraits to soften the skin of the model. This tutorial was made using Adobe Photoshop cs2. I am not a professional in post-processing and I do this for fun. Since I have learned most of the things I know about post-processing by reading on the internet, this tutorial is my way to give back. The photograph I am using for this tutorial was taken by me and I am the model. Note that usually, the results of photoshop work like this look better on a female’s portrait. :) Please, don’t complain because the composition and lighting are bad, some area are blowned out, soft skin looks better on females etc etc..   • Credit card fraud has become pervasive on the Internet. According to MasterCard International, account takeover fraud has increased by 369% since 1995. It has become one of the fastest growing types of fraud, and one of the more difficult to combat. More than $700 million in online sales were lost to fraud in 2001, representing 1.14 percent of total annual online sales of $61.8 billion, according to GartnerG2. Even if the credit card company has given the authorization as to the validity of the card, there are several ways fraudulent cards can be used on your site. The card may have been lost or stolen, but the card owner is yet to report its loss. Or the number on the card (and not the card itself) may have been lifted without the knowledge of the owner. There is also a scam called identity theft, where the card has been issued under false pretenses using someone else's identity and data.
